So we've maxed out our first thread, the positivity is building up nicely and we're joyfully moving on to a brand new thread...

This thread is for anyone TTC and is bursting with positivity, love and support as we cruise towards our BFP's.

New rules instead of saying AF due we say BFP due ...
Also you do not have to add your age or what cycle number you're on if you don't want to ...

The ultimate aim is to get everyone to destination BFP ASAP...
however the bus ride may take a little longer for some of us ...
it doesn't matter if you take the scenic route ...
as long you get there.

So plug in your stats and off we go xxx

@magpie love the DH being a DH (dick head) symptom... i have that very same one xx

Hippychic79 · 20/02/2017 10:51

My DP has been doing my head in a bit this weekend too - I put it down to his work stress, but maybe there's something in the air.

Salem I don't feel any ovulation pain... i sometimes think i might, but then i read the other day in that baby making bible book, that feeling ovulation pain is very rare... I'm not sure if I'd call this TTC lark exciting ... well not until I get my BFP anyway... it's got me down a bit this month... i just want it to hurry up and happen now.... feels like I've been cycle watching forever!

Thanks hippy just did a frer massive bfn. Just wish my period would hurry the fuck up now 😆

Natural to get a bit down with this ttc carry on, I thought it would be romantic and exciting. It's actually just a head fuck.

I'm distracting myself with other stuff.

My baby grow arrived this am! It's ugly as hell! My oh will love it as it's in his teams colours.... it'll be getting put at the back of the cupboard for this month!

Also we have some nice plans over the next month so at least I don't have the drama of trying to conceal not drinking! Every cloud 😆

Hippychic79 · 20/02/2017 12:10

Sorry to hear about bfn EMH .... you're spot on this tTC is head fuck ... but in terms of PMA af least you've got a lot of plans to look forward to ... this is good ... I need to take a leaf out of your book and get my shit together and make some plans .... sitting round waiting for fw whilst reading tTC books does not help the time go quickly ... I can confirm this!

I've got 2 close friends who are both GPs.... they both know about me ttc and get updates and queries once a month when I'm over thinking. Both have said: just enjoy sex every few days and enjoy not being pregnant, you'll be pregnant soon enough. They both have said overthinking seriously can hamper your ttc.

On that note I'm convinced I might delete MN app for a month again and only check if I really feel Iike there is something I need to look at or ask.

Filling my days with lovely things, focussing on work goals and not overloading my already anxious brain must be good regardless....

Hugs!

We will miss you on here EMH, but completely understand your why you want to keep focused and busy. We're here if you need us.

Big Hugs

Love the slogan tees @bella but looks like you won't need it anymore, congrats!!

NannyGR · 20/02/2017 16:39

I think I may be out..... had some light pink spots this afternoon when I wipe.... how dare she turn up early!! Esp the one month I really thought I was!! Why is ttc so hard.......

BellaMoon · 20/02/2017 17:34

hey ladies

@nanny could your spotting be implantation bleed? approx 10/11dpo? that sounds about right to me! #PMA

@magpie i totally appreciate youre not one for POAS like a total twat like me - I wish i was a little more like you. well i'm sure its BFP month for you so i have everything crossed for you for Wed. so, if no AF on Wed, will you test then?

@salem re: ovulation pain, i did feel it down my left side more than right too. I was 20 odd yrs on BC so when I actually ovulated first month off pill i was in total shock. it was the pains that made me go buy the CB OPKS otherwise i would have assumed that i wouldnt have ovulated for a few months at least. still no sign of a smiley yet? I'd say you'll get a positive tonight/tomorrow?

@EMHW obsessing can be positive and negative on your mental state I totally agree. I've been fairly obsessed since my CB smiley but I've enjoyed it. i think if i didnt vent/cry/sound like a lunatic on here then I'd have been really clueless this month. But appreciate that everyone is different. Hope all goes well for you and your BFP is just around the corner :)

@hellybelly I'll try upload my 2nd pic of the CB from last night that wouldnt upload. you can definitely see from this that its a BFN for the time being. I really shouldnt be testing until Wednesday onwards as I fecked up my DPO calculation (eejit I know)! So I'm thinking of ordering a batch of the t-shirts and you can all customise the emoji you want added... i think this week I'd have the sunshine one as its miserable in not so sunny Scotland today.

was thinking today, as much as some might want to remain completely anonymous, I thought it might be nice to share where we are from - nothing too specific. So I've said above im in Scotland, 15 miles outside of Glasgow city centre. Join in if you so wish :)

@hippy I got that book you recommended about the chinese medicine/conventional meds for baby making on ibooks. Been glancing back and forth today so I'm really enjoying it. Thanks for the recommendation :)

@bella I guess it could be implantation but I really don't want to get my hopes up Hmm
My test was just like yours from this morning! Have asked hubby to hide them from me and only allow me to have one on Thursday!! Here's hoping he does, he's normally pretty good like that!
I think since my mc every period gets harder and harder! I know I'm still young blah blah but that doesn't make it any easier!!
I'm about 20mins south of Cambridge! So lucky enough to be able to use the wonderful Rosie birthing centre when I finally get my rainbow baby Star

Hippychic79 · 20/02/2017 17:54

Hang in there Nannyg ... completely empathise ... nothing worth having comes easy and tTC is no exception I guess and you've got access to a lovely birthing centre xxx

Bella glad you're enjoying the book Hun and we're enjoying having you on here Wink. In fact I'm enjoying chatting to all of you lovely ladies and think we should all make a pact to stick around till we're all upduffed ... if your in print diamond 💎.... bit random but hey ho 😂

I'm from the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire xxx

So due to test next Monday 28th, have just ordered some tests due to arrive in my Tesco delivery tomorrow! Hoping I can hold out until at least Sunday with tests in the house!

I'm out for a friends birthday meal and drinks on Friday night, how do others avoid drinking in these situations? Or do you carry on as normal in 2WW? I know I would feel terrible if I drunk and ended up with BFP a couple of days later...

BellaMoon · 20/02/2017 18:15

💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎

MissMagpie · 20/02/2017 18:37

Really got my fingers crossed for you nanny.

Bella I would probably test on Thursday actually as that would give AF all day to arrive. Ha ha - I am actually scared of POAS. It is so brutal! I have a very crampy bloated feeling that's just come on though so not sure if my body is preparing for AF or what? I do remember that when I had my son, the only symptom I remember was that I thought I was getting my AF and bought a load of supplies in a rage only to actually be pregnant! So now I'm trying not to overanalyse or get my hopes up or down.

This ttc malarkey can definitely overtake your life. I totally understand if anyone feels that they need to disappear for a while and try not to think about it. Baby dust to all. Xxx

I know what people

BellaMoon · 20/02/2017 19:23

@something, personally i wouldnt hold back too much til I saw my BFP - some may disagree but thats my tuppence worth. I'm due BFP on or around Saturday and if i test and dont have my BFP, I'll be having some champs with my afternooon tea with the MIL even if AF hasnt arrived. I wont be radio gaga on the booze, but I'll have a few over the course of the whole day. xx

BellaMoon · 20/02/2017 19:27

@magpie its so hard not to let the mind go off in a tangent isnt it. at least you have previous experience to call on here, i'm a newbie and my god, every little thing is a "symptom". least we have each other to get excited with/calm each other down lol x

BellaMoon · 20/02/2017 19:31

@nanny you're doing a grand job of staying grounded atm in my opinion. FX its implantation spotting and you're BFP is only days away now :) #PMA

my boobies have been extremely sensitive since static blue smiley and only just went back to normal yesterday. i would have thought it should be the other way around, more sensitive towards BFP/AF rather than the opposite. think i'm at the stage where I'm imagining cramps too, well i did just do a rather large and noisy trouser cough (fart) so maybe it was just trapped wind lol xx

BellaMoon · 20/02/2017 19:39

so due to previously mentioned trouser cough, i thought i had cramps. went to the loo, nothing on the paper but i decided to have a little rummage around, checked cervix position. does anyone of you lovely ladies track this? ive seen online that position should be high if conceived and lower if AF due. mine is pretty low - not that i can actually compare as iv not tracked this at all. anyway, cramps were definitely trumpet bum as not pink stuff at (as yet).

am i right in thinking that from day of ovulation, every woman should expect BFP/AF exactly 14 days? so our AF's can vary in length but the luteal (i could be completely wrong with everything im saying here) phase should be roughly the same? xx

Charley2016 · 20/02/2017 20:06

Hey ladies, sorry another crazy day! You would think being busy would make time go quicker haha!

I always symptom spot ladies! However I do find it's less the more the cycles go on. Not that I don't still do it, just that I don't count sore boobs, cramps etc as I know I get them all the time. I still normally find a strange one to focus on though! So far in my last few cycles I've had a twitchy eye for about a week, numb tingly hands and feet and pain in my armpit (non of which were BFP obviously) then last month had hardly any symptoms, no usual pain, so of course I thought that could be a sign too haha!

Bella, people's LP can be anything from around 10-16 days. It's just your own number of days that shouldn't really change! Mines normally 13 days but last month was 12 which was a first! So if you've tracked previous cycles, it should be the same.

Hippy I hate being sick too! I end up a big blubbering mess! I used to have bad panic attacks which would make me sick and then I'd pass out so think it's just fear from that.

Something, I wouldn't worry about a few days in TWW. Baby doesn't have a placenta yet so doesn't actually get anything from you for the first few weeks.

Nanny I think spotting could still be IB. Keep ya up to date. FX!

Salem I don't think I feel ovulation. Had ovulation spotting a few months back which was a first but was just one bit of blood when wiping and no pain.

EMHW totally get the time away. I did it a few cycles back too and I am definitely less obsessive now as time goes on. Do whatever feels right for you and know we will all still be here whenever you need.

ArchiesMamaBird · 20/02/2017 20:08

Bella your luteal phase can be anywhere from 12-16 days, but it should be consistent for you. So mine is always 14 days, so if I track OV, I know exactly when AF is due

sarahboro1 · 20/02/2017 20:12

Bella all of our luteals will be different to each other's but always the same for us as individuals. So ovulation can move but your literal will be the same - I think!! Xx

sarahboro1 · 20/02/2017 20:16

Well what a 24 hours here ladies!! 🙈 Apparently hubby had a headache last night (thought that was our excuse?!) so I just flipped!! Told him I was going back on the pill cos I was sick of ttc on my own (physically impossible I know!!) with no support and basically feeling like I'm forcing him into dtd each time!! His response?? Snoring within the minute!!!! 😂 Xx

Dollydaydream2829 · 20/02/2017 20:17

bella your luteal phase should stay the same every cycle - not always necessarily 14 days for every person, some folk can have 12/13 day luteal phase. It's just what's normal for you.
FX something & magpie
Hopefully it's implantation nanny
I've had another positive OPK this afternoon although slightly lighter than yest so planning on DTD again tonight. Had EWCM today as well so I'm presuming today is my actual O day! And that'll be me officially on the TWW!!

ArchiesMamaBird · 20/02/2017 20:19

I went to doctors today for a follow up on blood tests that I had taken to check my hormone levels (which are all normal and show that I am ovulating, thank god!)

But I thought I'd share the advice that the doctor gave me. So along with the usual maintain a healthy weight/no smoking/no excessive drinking, he also said that DH should wear loose underwear, and that if he's a cyclist, then he should quit for 6 months (something to do with the tight shorts they have to wear)

With regards to DTD, he said that we should be doing it every 2-3 days from the day AF ends to the day it begins again. Apparently if you DTD every day then the sperm doesn't regenerate quickly enough, and if you leave it more than 3 days then the sperm that is ejaculated is stale and old. And he said that the mistake that some people make is to use OPK's but then stop DTD when you think you've ovulated (because you might not have and might miss it)

And one last thing, he said that he knows 6 couples that went down the fertility testing/IVF route and they all ended up getting pregnant whilst they were waiting for appointments. So he said never stop trying Smile
