how long do opk stay positive for?

I have been ttc number 3 for about 15 months now. I have been using opk and seem to ovulate and periods are fairly reg. I usually ov about day 14 This month I didn't start opk until day 10 as that is usually early enough and it was positive. Since then (now day 15) negative. I have to assume that I ov'd early this month. Problem is I have no idea when it first became positive. BD day 10 (day of positive test) and since then but not before. Kicking myself as seems we really messed up and missed the boat this month! I mean if it was positive since day 8 for example I must have ov'd probably day 9?

I hope all of that makes sense. Every month counts at this stage and I feel under such pressure with all this bding etc. I am sure you all know what I mean!

As in everything everyone is different, but I only get 1 or 2 days of OPK+. I think that the LH surge is high enough to be detected in the 12-36 hours before you ovulate - so you definately have not missed the boat.

Do i have this right. you normally get a positive OPK about day 13 or 14 but this month when you started testing on day 10 it was already possitive?

As rattling says, the surge comes 12 - 36 hours before ov so technically it could e that your test on day 10 was towards the end of that 36 hours. Eitherway if you had sex on the 10th you won't have missed you chance completely. good luck

yes thats right nomrally positive day 14 ish and this time already positive when started testing day 10. V def neg since so not a mistake. I am keeping everything crossed and kicking myself for not starting earlier!
