Am I wasting my time?

I have a DD of 20 months and have been trying for the last year with no luck.

I am also very overweight, much more than when I conceived DD and I'm finally starting to lose it.

I do have PCOS but have very regular periods on a 28 day cycle.

My question is- should I be worried that I haven't conceived in over a year? I know the normal advice is to wait until a year has passed until you see the doctor at my age (26) but I have been putting it off because I know they are going to tell me it's because I'm fat- something I already know!
I'm trying very hard to lose so am focused on that but there is something niggling in my mind that it might be something more than just being overweight.
Will a doctor start any investigations on me or just write me off because I'm overweight.

You could certainly have what they call the day 21 blood test which checks if your ovulating and your OH could have a sperm analysis. These are both things they check before referring you further.
But a year isn't particularly abnormal and the doctor told me she wasn't worried that I'd not conceived in 2 years because I was still young and I'm 33!

Thanks for your response :) do you think DH would need a sperm analysis considering we already have one DD?
