Hey Ladies!

Had My follow up GP appointment today. (mini background stopped the pill in June after being on it for 11 years had about 5 long cycles with each cycle getting shorter then last period was 1st Decemeber and NOTHING ever since!)

Soooo all my blood results came back absolutely normal my oestrogen, progesterone, LH, FSH thyroid etc every one of them absolutely normal.

my GP said the shortening cycles are normal and to be expected after stopping the pill but this big gap since december is pretty unusual but can happen with being on the pill for so long and my body adjusting. She was very nice and said there isnt much more they can do just now but if i have anymore unusual symptoms to come back and i have the choice to come back in June to request a referral to the fertility clinic.

Now for my dilemma....... As i haven't had my period since 1st dec. she did offer me Provera to help get everything kick started. She did stress that it would induce a bleed that wouldn't be an actual period and whether i choose to take the provera or not is up to me but basically if i choose to take it or not wont change my chances of getting pregnant sooner. She said right now if i don't take it my biggest issue is not knowing when i ovulate. if i do take it i will have the same issue as its not a real period and i would need to wait for another cycle. I dont really know what to do half of me REALLY doesnt want to pump myself with more hormones incase it sets me back but the other half is thinking maybe i need this jump start to get my cycles more organized.

Any adivce or suggestions would be really appreciated I have the prescription but GP said it would be my choice if i want to get the Provera and take it or leave it and wait it out for a period ( or get pregnant)

KittyKat73 · 24/02/2017 11:10

Sorry put this separate so my last post wasnt crazy long had a wee look at how everyone else is doing and looks like alot of DTDs! haha good luck everyone FX for some BFP soon :) xx

Kaydee2017 · 24/02/2017 11:42

Kitty that is a dilemma! I came off the combined pill & having a withdrawal bleed made me feel like that might jump start everything as my body would get into the cycle of bleeding (iykwim?), but you've been off it a while & have has periods so that's a little different! Did the GP give a recommendation??

Ah basset, it happens doesn't it! CD11 is early though, so probably nice to feel not really bothered by it? It's so consuming & takes over your way of thinking doesn't it? I can remember not too long ago where that would almost have been a bonus for me - not DH not enjoying himself, but less clean up for me! How times change!

Pyjamas81 · 24/02/2017 16:11

We'll keep up EOD over the next week if we can kaydee just in case ov was delayed by being ill and stressed! Looking at my chart, I'm hoping we've covered our bases for this cycle!** Sounds like you're definitely covered!

CD11 is early basset so you're right not to worry!

Blissfulignorance · 24/02/2017 19:41

Kaydee we have been dtd everyday since cd 11 i think. Now cd 17 and will carry on daily if we can for another 4 ish days. Just to be sure.

Well don't to those doing the EOD approach. Sorry DH is having some troubles basset

Massive well done in fat club Eva

That chart looks good pjs I seriously hope this is your month.

The pain I had in my right side yesterday has gone today. Not reading into that much.

DH has surprised me, he said he'd read about a Swedish study about basal body temperatures and conceiving, he asked if he could buy me a thermometer! I told him I already knew about it a bit and if af shows up again he can buy me one.

It's lovely when he gets all interested in looking at my ovulation sticks and talks about it with me. Rather than moaning about my drinking habits.

kiwi17 · 24/02/2017 20:12

A tricky one kitty would you rather know you were doing something about it though? Maybe taking the tablets will be better than waiting and hoping each day?

Cd23 for me here, 7dpo and have had ewcm for 5 days now and still going... Trying to not read too much into it but it is getting a bit tiresome!

KittyKat73 · 25/02/2017 18:23

Kaydee I think my GP was hinting more towards leaving provera and continuing to just wait, but she didnt seem to mind whatever one I choose.

kiwi I think your right even though my GP said i could still get pregnant really i know its very unlikely and as each day passes im like well that was a waste.

I decided to tell my partner about it all and after a long discussion I have decided to take the provera ill go to pharmacy tomorrow and get started Hopefully it will kick start everything and i can finally use my CB ovulation sticks i bought in December! Currently CD85 so i think thats long enough to go without AF

Aw Bliss thats great DH has been looking into things and wanting to help :)

Also i have the dreaded cold thats been infecting everyone! at least im getting it now instead of when i eventually start my new cycle haha!

blanketfort · 25/02/2017 21:24

At least you've made a decision together kitty and have the support from your doctor too. Fx that this will kick start everything for you!!

Ahh blissful it's lovely he's taking an interest. My DH looks at me with a raised eyebrow just for using opk Hmm

AF is just around the corner. I can feel her nasty little niggles already. Vile bitch

Eva30 · 26/02/2017 21:18

Sorry been awol - been ill and busy, not a nice combination! Got a terrible cold draining me of any energy.
kitty once you start taking it how quickly will the bleed happen? Glad you've talked it through with dH and made a decision which is right for you. Hopefully this will kick start everything for you.
blanket when is AF due?
kiwi fx! When are you testing?
blissful that is so sweet of DH with bbt.
pjs you've done well with EOD, fx this is the month!

I'm on cd9 now, we DTD this morning but that'll be the last time until cd14 (Fri) because DH has his sperm analysis on weds (cd12). I don't usually ov until at least cd15 so hopefully we won't miss out on trying this month.

Blissfulignorance · 26/02/2017 23:14

Hope you feel better Eva.

I'm irritated, missed dtd on cd 17 because I was in a step with DH and missed cd 18 because I wanted to sleep more than I wanted a baby!!

Only just got home after leaving the house at 6am this morning (stupid work)

Had my positive opk on cd 15.

Hope we've done enough

bassetmum · 26/02/2017 23:28

Feel better soon eva.
Kitty it's good you have had the discussion with your oh.

Oh no blanket fx its not af.

Im sat here in bed unable to sleep after a failed dtd again. Burst into tears over the lack of finish. Even tried the new undies I bought. My oh reckons he wants a baby as much as I do but I really don't know. It really doesn't help my already awful level of self esteem and body confidence when he cant finish. Cd13 so hopefully can try again tomorrow or Tuesday

kiwi17 · 27/02/2017 06:43

Oh no basset :( hugs for you today.
eva hope you feel better soon too!
af is due on Sunday for me so I am going to hold off as long as possible - Saturday I might test if I get there with no spotting!
Fx for you too blissful :)

Kaydee2017 · 27/02/2017 07:23

LSFX pyjamas & kiwi!

Bliss I am in awe of your DTD efforts Shock Well done though, definitely all bases covered there Grin so good your DH is so interested too!**

Sounds like a good decision kitty, hope it kick starts everything back up for you! How long after taking it does it work?

Fx AF stays away blanket!!

Sorry you've been ill Eva Flowers fx your Ov sticks to its normal pattern & you can get a perfectly timed DTD in!!

Hugs basset Flowers sorry if I've forgotten, but have you talked to him about it?

CD19 here & must be firmly in TWW now!! Not tracking Ov but think it was CD15 last cycle, and maybe CD14 this cycle, just from feeling a few pains in the relevant areas, but no certainties with that! Thought AF was making a super early appearance yesterday - had spotting yesterday evening with some cramps too, so was expecting to wake up to it this morning but nothing, maybe the odd cramp if I really thought about it (although there may have been some vigorous DTDing on Saturday night, so might have been that Blush). Anyway, Ovia says test in 10 days, but aiming to try & wait until Sat 11th!

bassetmum · 27/02/2017 11:19

Fx kaydee. Try not to send yourself nuts in tww.

We have had the chat a few times. To quote him "something gets in my head and I just lose it". I just don't know what else to try or do. I'm really upset about it this month I think because he suggested eod and now its not working. I have had a few twinges on my right side today too so might not have time to try anymore this month. Will have to wait and see. Probably doesn't help I'm exhausted today as I think it was 1am by the time I went to sleep.

OP posts:
Eva30 · 27/02/2017 12:50

Lol kaydee at vigorous DTD and blissful at wanting sleep more than wanting a babyGrin
Oh bassett I'm sorry. Is it like the pressure getting to him? I must say, since we started TTC my DH is a lot less interested in sex and it is such a chore some days. He hardly ever comes on to me first - perhaps it's because they secretly liked the challenge in the days before TTC! As a real last resort the Dr would be able to help with this. Our Dr asked if everything was ok 'ejaculating' when we went for our appointment. But you just don't want to make it worse I guess by taking this final resort step.

Thanks guys, I'm sniffling through the day and no doubt annoying my work colleagues today.

florafoxtrot · 27/02/2017 13:48

Basset - we've been there before too - you're certainly not alone. What seems to work for us is that I put it back to him to initiate when he is feeling more up for it (but I always say something like - "don't wait too long!") and then he'll appear when he's clearly managed to take his mind off whatever he was worrying about. More often than not its when he is in the middle of doing something else - like cooking - that he appears ready to go for it. It's not fail safe and certainly doesn't work every time but if you can be as easy going and encouraging as possible then it should help him. That being said I can understand 100% why you are frustrated, its such a small window we have to operate in. And mine also does the whole "aw yeah I can do EOD - every day if you want thing" Aye right pal.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend and are surviving Monday - I am SS-ing like an absolute idiot - please someone slap me with something. Temps still staying higher than I've ever seen though! Hmm

KittyKat73 · 27/02/2017 15:10

Thanks blanket and Basset :)

Eva and Kaydee i think once i stop taking the provera it can be between 2 to 10 days before AF kicks down the door. Eva Hope you feel better soon dont think anyone is escaping this cold!

Basset that sounds soo frustrating for you :( maybe the pressure is getting to him more than he realises, I know at one point when my sex drive was through the roof I felt like i was always initiating DTD and felt as if my partner was reluctantly going ahead with it which didnt do my self esteem any favours so i decided to give it a break and stop pestering .. sure enough after a wee while he started harassing me again think it was just getting a bit too much for him but he didnt want to say.

Kaydee Flora and Bliss* got my FX for yous for this month!

Kaydee2017 · 27/02/2017 16:38

Hopefully you can have another go tonight basset Flowers and I know it might be easier said than done, but if it's something he gets in his head, then it's not a reflection on you, so try not to let that affect your self esteem. I think flora has some good advice too by taking the pressure off it being TTC related & initiating, or letting him initiate, at spontaneous times?

Fx for you flora!! What CD are you now?

Fx for you too kitty! Weird to say on a TTC thread, but I hope AF appears for you soon Smile

I now have had brown spotting on & off all day Hmm think AF may be about to cut this cycle ridiculously short Envy

florafoxtrot · 27/02/2017 16:41

Thanks Kaydee and Kitty. I'm on CD23 and 8dpo.

Kaydee - what CD are you on? Do you know whether you ovulated early too? Could just be random spotting? I've never had that but know that it does happen to others.

Loxy4527 · 27/02/2017 16:57

Hey everybody! It's that lovely tww time where I spare dh my paranoia by talking to you lovely ladies instead Grin

Cycle 4
Cd 23
7 dpo

We really nailed our timing this month I think thanks to the opks. So many symptoms to spot this month; dizziness, fatigue, ridiculously bad acne, huge appetite and now cramps. Why does my body tease me so??? Gonna try charting next month if nothing sticks :p

Kaydee2017 · 27/02/2017 16:58

I'm only CD19, but not tracking Ov, so who knows!!

blanketfort · 27/02/2017 19:15

She's due on Wednesday Eva but already spotting :( and getting bloody uncomfortable cramps to boot

Oh Basset :( maybe he's getting stage fright? Because he knows how much you both want this and the pressures getting to him? Is he as concerned about the lack of finale as you?

Kaydee could that be implantation bleeding?!

Ohhh Flora! Must not make your ss worse by me getting excited

Welcome Loxy! Looks like you could be on to a winner?

Eva30 · 27/02/2017 21:27

Hi Loxy
kaydee I was thinking the same as blanket, maybe implantation!Grin
flora was going to ask how many dpo you are and then saw you'd read my mind. Hope the temps stay high and af stats away.

Seems a few of you are in tww - hope there's at least a couple of bfp's this month!!

kiwi17 · 27/02/2017 21:57

FX everyone :)

Loxy4527 · 28/02/2017 07:23

Thanks Blanket :) fx for everyone!

I'm just glad I haven't been tempted by the giant stack of tests under my bed XD seems like every month my body decides to present a different symptom only to then go "Fooled ya, just AF" so I'm trying not to get too invested in the idea. Trying at least, haha
