Doctor says Clomid hasn't worked... Cd10

I am on my first cycle of clomid 50mg. I took it cycle days 1-5 and today, cd10, I went for my Follicle scan and have come out feeling really down about it all. Doctor had really quick look and said he didn't think it had worked this cycle and they'd need to increase my dosage of Clomid. He said he would expect to see some form of egg sack by this stage. I have to go back in 4 days, cd14 to confirm this hasn't worked. Has anyone else had this happen to them and it turned out to have been wrong by the doctor? I know cd10 is still early but I took clomid on cycle day 1-5. Any experience would be appreciated. Thanks xx

Don't lose hope, there may not be anything obvious now but there could be in 3-4 days. My scans were usually between days 11-14 and my follicle sizes varied from 11-12mm to 21mm. The times I have ovulated have been like cd17 so you still have time. Good luck x

Thanks for asking! Still no change so they are ruling this out as a fail. I have to wait until end of cycle, take provera to induce period and then try 100mg. Not looking forward to this and feeling dissapointed... Clomid really is horrible.

Keep trying! My clomid baby is now 12! I had 6 cycles and ovulated on all of them but it still took time. If it helps I've had 2 more babies naturally since then too! Good luck. Fingers crossed.

I have a pretty rubbish story so don't be disheartened by any of what I've been through.

50mg, 100mg and 150mg clomid didn't work.

I then started taking metformin and 150mg didn't work. Metformin hasn't built up in my system enough at that point.

After that I did 2 more 150mg and had follicles. 1 cycle was abandoned due to risk of multiples and then the next one I did conceive but had an early miscarriage just shy of 5 weeks.

I then ran another 150mg and had no response what so ever.

The round after that i had to abandon due to risk of multiples and the last round I did was perfect but didn't get pregnant.

I'm now taking a break and having counselling and will start my last round of clomid in march and then it's back to the clinic, probably for ivf. I'll have done 10 cycles altogether (not back to back).

*metformin and clomid together after the first 3 no responsive cycles of clomid on its own.

You really have been through a hard time of it. I really hope you get your miracle baby soon. Xx

It's not the greatest story, no. It's been hard, hence the counselling.
I hope you also get some nice juicy follicles next round. Good luck and keep us posted.

50mg of Clomid worked to conceive DS. TTC no 2, 50mg hasn't worked for me this time. My follicles were days behind schedule this cycle. I couldn't go back to get another scan closer to ovulation.
Follicles need to be over 10mm at 10 days for it to be considered to be working.
