HB no I'm not temping properly, find it almost impossible. I refuse to set an alarm clock. Just trying it out, I'm relatively happy with OPKs, CM etc.

laura my DS was in his own room at 12weeks but had me up about 10-12 times a night until he was about 10/11months. He was such a bugger for sleep. Max 45mins at a time then took over an hour to settle. I was insane. Keep asking myself why I want to do this again 😂

buzzmoon · 08/02/2017 08:34

You're getting there laura! Soon you'll be counting and temping and poas all day long!
My SIL had a red castle it was unbelievably cute her all wrapped up and helped her sleep so much, looked like she wax in a straight jacket though!
I think I'd like to do a bit of both with feeding, but I think you have to time it right or it all goes tits up!
parsnips think mine took around a month so hang in there!!

mummy and hb I've only been doing it for a week, and I think my variations are similar to yours although think I'll need to try it for a few months to properly get an idea of patterns. The other morning I genuinely fell back to sleep whilst doing it, the little beeps woke me up and it fell out my mouth 😂

3 days to go till test day 😬

Mummyme87 · 08/02/2017 08:40

confused I'm in my fertile week, expecting ovulation on Friday ish.. so I guess the dip would be now pre ovulation then a spike with ovulation around Friday? Then by Sunday my fertile week is over.... I'm sure it should be easier than this!!
Also with regards to expressing and breastfeeding. The current advice is to breastfeed until 6-8weeks and then introduce expressing if you want to, this is to allow your supply to stabilise. Introducing expressing early may affect your milk supply. Babies do feed often continuously in the first couple of weeks to increase your supply. It's completely normal. Their tummy is tiny, holds only a few MLS at a time in the first week hence why they need feed so frequently. You want to avoid overfilling their stomach and stretching it as they will always expect larger and larger amounts and your supply will never be big enough.

xlaura · 08/02/2017 09:07

Mummy - oh no what a little cheeky monkey! I think it depends on the baby and the pregnancy. My neighbour had her 2nd and is 3 weeks old who me and my oh are godparents to 🎉 and she was really active and always out and about and walking during the pregnancy now he has to be rocked and moved all the time before falling asleep. He has a feed, then it takes her an hour to wind him and then he settles for about 45 mins so needless to say she's getting rather wiped out bless her.

Buzz - haha I know and the sad thing is im actually looking forward to doing all the OPKs and testing..I'm sure I won't be saying that when I'm in tht position tho. Haha all goes tits up.. no pun intended I hope 😜 haha

Mummy - your like the oracle! Infact all of you are 😂 I'm such a newbie to all of this I feel like ive come into a whole new world. Who would've thought talking about TTC and comparing opinions and stats would be so interesting haha!

HeyJupiter · 08/02/2017 09:09

Mummyme yes I would agree that likely your pre-ovulation dip today and then you should expect a peak with ovulation on Friday! Fingers crossed. I've found such variation in my moods and symptoms from month to month - last month around my fertile window I had barely any EWCM and my sex drive was really low. This month was the complete opposite. Not sure what that means? Maybe I'm just paying attention more.

4DPO today. This is going horribly slowly. Day off work and off to see family today though which will be a nice distraction. My nipples have been really sore the last few days (more than usual) but that will just be related to post-ovulation progesterone surge. Hope they carry on feeling sore, guess that will be a better indicator of what might be going on. Roll on this time next week.

Confused is your AF likely to be due later this month as you ovulated a bit later than you thought? When are you going to test?

HeyJupiter · 08/02/2017 09:13

Wow Tigger good work on DTD-ing this month, surely you've got it covered! Hope you're feeling a bit better today, it's so easy to let imaginations run wild isn't it regarding health concerns.

MrsC well done on no sugar!! How are you feeling today? totally agree with the first part of the cycle being unbearably long. At least in the 2ww there is something to hope for each day (and the obsessive symptom spotting!)

buzzmoon · 08/02/2017 09:13

jupiter your day sounds lovely are you going anywhere nice?
I have an all day meeting at work 😩 Save me!!

HeyJupiter · 08/02/2017 09:14

laura it's a mad world to enter isn't it. Can't believe the things I'm writing and how much I've learnt about the science of it all. My 2016 self would be impressed that I'm using expressions like "post-ovulation progesterone surge" what have I become? Grin

HeyJupiter · 08/02/2017 09:15

Ohh buzz rubbish - can you sit and daydream about baby things? :)

I'm off to spend the day with my sister and gorgeous 2 year old niece. Not sure what they've got planned. Just love the family time.

confusedat23 · 08/02/2017 09:32

Thanks Mummy!!... these are the things no one tells you! I am actually really nervous about the whole breastfeeding thing! I really want to do it and to express but formula seems so much easier! I have brought all the stuff to allow me to do both but there seems to be such science behind it!

When are you testing Jupiter? AF should have been 14th for me but now it has been pushed back to 17th by Ovia which i guess makes sense!... although i will know earlier because of my stupid pre-af spotting!... i'm not hopeful about this month i'm 3-4 dpo and not even excited or anything (sorry to be depressing!)

Oh no Buzz... i ALWAYS fall asleep in them! I blame the anaemia Blush lol

Redpony1 · 08/02/2017 09:37

Morning!

12dpo for me, Ovia told me to do a test so i dug out my FRER and used FMU and as predicted, BFN!! Really wish i knew when my AF should be!

Redpony1 · 08/02/2017 09:38

I just made myself LOL at all the acronyms in my post Grin

Mummyme87 · 08/02/2017 09:39

mrsC I can't believe you did a whole day sugar free. I just have enough will power for this lol

I haven't been to slimming world for a couple of weeks. I must go tonight. I so want to lose weight and just don't know why I can't get my head in the game!

xlaura · 08/02/2017 09:49

We're certainly more chatty today! I wish I had a day off..or a year come to think of it 😂 I'm currently sat behind 2 computer screens running reports and processing KPIs for all the sales guys. I literally want to kill myself..I wasn't at all looking at baby clothes and changing bags tho 👀 hehe

MrsC2017 · 08/02/2017 09:54

Morning girls... The sugar free day turned out to be just that, a sugar free day because I had biscuit cake last night so didn't manage the second day, but I did go for a power walk so that has to count for something!
jupiter your day sounds lovely, enjoy!
buzz hope he meeting flies by, at every meeting I'm at I always feel that it could have just been an email!
red I'm sure that's really frustrating, hope things make themselves apparent one way or another very soon!
Last day of AF today, but I'm alot more relaxed about the whole thing now after initial first cycle madness! I'm sure it'll happen when it's meant to happen. Tbh I'm finding it quite hard to imagine how life will be like with another person in our family, the three of us are just so settled that I'm just wondering how another person will fit into our life and family, I know it'll be impossible to imagine life without them once they get here but I don't know, feeling the self doubt today for some reason! It took me so long to arrive at the decision to have another I guess that the old doubts are creeping back in!

Mummyme87 · 08/02/2017 10:30

I may invest in this

xlaura · 08/02/2017 10:31

Morning Mrs C, glad to hear your coming to the end of af. Time to try again and hopefully see if it'll catch this time round. I agree with the thoughts about finding it weird and how they'll slot in but they just do. It's abit like a pet it's weird and you almost have your world and life turned upside down etc but it'll eventually work and everybody adapts. It's the most natural thing to happen in life so don't worry about it. It'll work out don't you worry 👍🏼 and if not..we can start another thread and moan til our hearts content haha!!

MrsC2017 · 08/02/2017 10:51

xlaura I do know that deep down and I am much more prepared this time than last time and that worked out better than I could have ever dreamed of so I don't really know why I'm so apprehensive all of a sudden, I'll blame hormones maybe!

xlaura · 08/02/2017 11:05

MrsC - I wouldn't worry. You've been there before so your much more prepared mentally and physically - unlike me haha! I do always say tho if you think negatively and think of the worst then everything will always be loads better! 👍🏼 you can worry when you've got your BFP so keep up the positivity and then I may let you worry haha!

Redpony1 · 08/02/2017 11:26

Still a bit annoyed with BFN this morning, mostly because i just want 'something' to happen, even if it is AF. I have such sore nipples still!! So i just had the urge to try an OPK, which are always paperwhite for me. Today it had a faint line Hmm What's going on!!
Think i might book a Drs appointment, 2 months of no AF, but quite consistent pain in my right side. They did discuss with me before coming off the pill that they sometimes run bloods etc to check things before TTC so might take up that offer....

Mummyme87 · 08/02/2017 11:47

Sorry about your BFN red maybe retry testing in a couple of days. I know it's so frustrating. What pill were you on before?

Redpony1 · 08/02/2017 11:48

Thanks mummy I was on Cerelle. I wasn't going to test until the weekend anyway but Ovia popped up with 'test today' so i thought, why not? haha

Redpony1 · 08/02/2017 11:48

Just to add, i don't actually mind getting a BFN at this stage in my journey, but i just want to know what is going on and be in a cycle Sad

Seven0fNine · 08/02/2017 11:55

Ovia wants me to test today too red I'm trying to ignore her and hold out until at least Sunday. Af due Saturday xx

Mummyme87 · 08/02/2017 11:58

I know what you mean red... wanting some control and understanding of your body!

That is some good self restraint sevenofnine not testing yet! I'm desperate to hold out longer this month!
