I couldn't see a March bus yet so I thought I'd get it going for all us early birds Grin

Here are my stats:

Age: 22
TTC: #2
BFP due: March 3rd

It's technically cycle 3 but we took last month off after cycle 1 resulted in chemical pregnancy :( so I'm eager to get on with it Grin

Anyone else joining me nice and ridiculously early on the March bus?

CD12. FW starts today according to Ovia.
Game face on. We DTD this morning.
(Although OPKs are still very negative)

ttcnovice · 17/02/2017 09:38

CD11 here and had a "high" reading on the CB OPKs this morning after a couple of days of "low". Hoping that will turn into a "peak" over the weekend as DH and I are off both days (for a change) so can DTD lots Grin.

To the poster (sorry I'm on the app so can't see your name!) who asked why some of us use OPKs - For me personally I just wanted to check as far as possible that everything was working as it should. I was only going to use them for one cycle, just to get confirmation of ovulation, but then I got obsessed Grin. To be honest though I'm a bit of a control freak anyway, so it seems quite natural for me to be fully aware of my own cycle. I started off using Tesco ones (about £8 a pack), then tried the IC one steps (£5 for 50), but I've now gone onto clearblue dual hormone OPKs (c. £25 per month). For me they're worth the expense just because they take away the guess work of figuring out lines, so I'll probably stick with these now until a BFP comes my way!

Ohb0llocks · 17/02/2017 09:56

Heeeere I am!

Age 25
TtC #2
Cycle 4 or 5 can't remember! Well done me...
AF due 16th march

Ohb0llocks · 17/02/2017 11:11

Pebble same - DS was a bit of a surprise!

Proper tried this time round, opks, monitoring CM etc, it's starting to get me down.

Me and DP are going back to just having sex when we feel like it and what will be will be

Oysterbabe · 17/02/2017 14:26

Ooo I have a line on my OPK. It's not positive obvs. But it's not the snowy white of yesterday. Maybe I'm gearing up for a textbook CD14 ovulation.

On a related note, how have I (and my DH) got into our 30's and not been told that TTC is more difficult that just have unprotected sex once?! My DH in particular is so confused about why I'm not pregnant yet after 2 cycles.

Redpony1 · 17/02/2017 14:37

allthecheese i guess it's drummed in to us so much growing up how easy it is to get pregnant, and for some it is. Explaining how fertile week etc works to DP confused him a lot. He thought any unprotected sex between AF could result in a baby! He was baffled about how many one night stand babies are conceived if there is only 1 fertile week!

MistyBxx · 17/02/2017 14:45

Me too allthecheese!! 32 and it took me from my wedding in September to my birthday early November of not being on the pill and having lots of fun unprotected sex to start looking into why my periods were still arriving 😂
I think it's down to school. Those terrifying sex-ed lessons about condoms, threatening that every single tadpole is a sure-fire missile on its way to undoubtedly fertilise your egg before your 17th birthday if you're not careful lol "don't miss a pill and use condoms for a week if you do!" "you can still get pregnant on your period!" "Even if he doesn't ejaculate, there's still the pre-sperm fluid!" And my personal favourite "You could still catch if he ejaculates anywhere near your vagina!" Making me think sperms were these super determined leech-like miniscule monsters that could crawl their way in and get you up the duff even after a messy withdrawal 😂😂 honest to god 🙈
I didn't understand why people called it "trying" for babies. Until now lol

harrypotternerd · 17/02/2017 15:17

well after a very confusing few days I have decided to try and forget about opk's and just hope for the best. I have a 25 day cycle. I started testing using the CB dual hormone indicator or CD 7 as per what instructions said. Got a low reading on both CD 7 and 8, I then did not test again until CD10 which I got peak reading. That was yesterday. Today I used the other CB monitor I have and got a high reading. I also did one of the first response IC but that was mid morning and no line came up so I have no idea what is going on. I also started conceive well vitamins this month and that is the only change I have made. Last month I was getting high readings late in my cycle ( CD days 15 - 20) but no peak. If anyone can explain my body to me that would be a great help because I dont understand it!

Carlotta82248 · 17/02/2017 16:11

I finished my period yesterday so as of today it's every other day for a month! Wish me luck, that's a whole lot more sex than I'd ever want haha!

pebble82 · 17/02/2017 19:48

carlotta I hear you! We did every other day for almost three weeks last month. Exhausting! Except we missed one day (so had a two day break in-between) when I was out with the girl's. Looking back at the calendar that was when I bloody ovulated I think! Typical! What annoys me most is when DH wants to DTD "pointlessly" in 2WW 😂

MistyBxx · 17/02/2017 19:59

Haha pebble I totally get that!!
The first part of the month just after af hubs is raring to go after a week off then by the time fw comes around it can be a struggle lol then in the 2ww i'm like really??? I want to have a full nights sleep lol 😂

MegsMog · 17/02/2017 20:56

Tentatively hopping on - not actively TTC but we seem to have given up on contraception... Already have a 22 month old DD and the idea of a second both seems appealing (two children frolicking in the sun together!) and horrifying (back to pregnancy sickness and sleepless nights and nappies and oh god how will I look after PFB Confused). Think if it happens it happens and we'll get our heads round it, but won't start using OPKs etc for a couple of months. However I know I'll be symptom spotting..,

Age: 28
TTC: 2
CD: 13
Cycle: 0/1?!

littlemacarena · 17/02/2017 21:40

Hopping on please. Came on today Angry

Age 34
TTC 1
AF 16/3
Cycle 2

Completely new to all this...

lampfromikea · 17/02/2017 22:37

Thanks for all the answers! Has given me a whole new perspective on TTC. I can definitely see the reasons for using OPKs, and not as expensive as I'd imagined.
Good luck to all of you whose FW is over and are low 2WWing! I'm being terrible and having a few glasses of wine tonight incase it is the last time for a year or so!

quicknamechangeofshame · 18/02/2017 00:09

I've somehow arrived at my fertile week already! Here we go again Grin
After having 3 days of an empty circle on my opk, I'm now on day 2 of the flashing smiley face. Really hoping to get the solid smiley sooner rather than later.
Hope everyone is getting on ok.
Fingers crossed for all of you that are already in the 2ww

stuckinny · 18/02/2017 05:48

According to one app I've just finished fw but according to another I'm just starting!!
I've had 7 days of flashy smiley faces. Hoping I get a static one tomorrow.

On top of it all I need to have a measles vaccination for work (I work for a healthcare provider) so have had to contact my dr for a letter so I don't have to get vaccinated before the end of the month.

lightgreenglass · 18/02/2017 10:32

I think I've finished my FW, only DTD 3 times during what I think is my FW. So now it's the waiting game, I'm not feeling too optimistic. 10 day to POAS.

Foggymist · 18/02/2017 14:31

Lightgreenglass I've been pregnant twice and both times we dtd twice during FW, 3 should be plenty if it is indeed going to happen this month Smile We will be dtd twice this FW, 3 at most if we can find the time!

GemXo · 18/02/2017 15:11

Ok so it's officially the first day of my FW. DP and me have already DTD 3 times today it's a happy/sad time for us as our first baby would of been due on the 8th of March which coincidently is my AF due date. How bizarre would it be if we got our BFP the day our baby should of been born. It would be a bitter sweet moment wouldn't it? FX.

Carlotta82248 · 18/02/2017 18:06

Well my every other day didn't go well last night, refused action by my 'too tired' DP Hmm

Thingymaboob · 18/02/2017 18:43

I'm trying not to dtd more than once every other day as it decreases sperm count apparently. Dtd today. Probably will again tomorrow as it's the weekend and then on Tuesday (CD14). The app I've got has me as ovulating on day 15 even though I'm a 28 day cycle. Maybe dtd Tuesday and Wednesday

Itsjustaphase84 · 18/02/2017 19:41

I'm actually going to Dtd less often during Fw. See how that goes.

lightgreenglass · 18/02/2017 20:25

All the times I've got pregnant I haven't DTD more than 3 times during the fertile week. I dunno, I feel like I want it more this time round. It's taking longer than previous times so trying not to get my hopes up. I've just booked a weekend away for what would be my due date for this month. Have decided to not let TTC stop me from planning fun things.

lightgreenglass · 18/02/2017 20:27

Carlotta every 2-3 days is good so you should still be covered. But so frustrating!
