I couldn't see a March bus yet so I thought I'd get it going for all us early birds Grin

Here are my stats:

Age: 22
TTC: #2
BFP due: March 3rd

It's technically cycle 3 but we took last month off after cycle 1 resulted in chemical pregnancy :( so I'm eager to get on with it Grin

Anyone else joining me nice and ridiculously early on the March bus?

I feel like shit today, nausea and really dizzy. I know 100% I'm not up the duff, I haven't ovulated yet. Anyone else have this after stopping the pill?

MistyBxx · 14/02/2017 13:36

Carlotta I had it yesterday and today which is cd12 and 13 for me. Seems to have stopped this afternoon though, going to test tonight but not likely to get home before 10pm 😱

Carlotta82248 · 14/02/2017 16:01

Official CD1

Relief more than anything, March bus I'm here!

QueenoftheKings · 14/02/2017 19:20

Oyster I was like for a couple of months after stopping the pill...took me a while to get back to normal.

CD 4 for me and already excited for what March will bring Smile

MissMango100 · 15/02/2017 08:19

Well, that's it, FW is over.

I have an exhausted partner and a hope in my heart!

AF due 1st March, so I can sit back and relax now Grin

FX me and everyone else.

ttcnovice · 15/02/2017 21:16

Good luck for the 2ww Mango!

CD9 here and just waiting to get a high and then hopefully peak reading on the CB OPKs over the next few days. Started testing yesterday as I had a shorter cycle last month (26 days rather than usual 28) so wanted to cover all bases. Low readings so far but will DTD tonight anyway and see what tomorrow brings!

How is everyone else getting on so far?

MrsGB2225 · 15/02/2017 21:21

Hi Everyone, I'd like a seat please!

Age: 31
TTC: #2
Cycle: 1
CD: 2

Ive finally got my post pill AF so hoping to get things started.

stuckinny · 15/02/2017 22:03

Good luck Mango

CD13 here and have had 'high' readings on CB opk for the last 5 days. I'm hoping I get a peak in the next day or two.

Trying to dtd as much as we can but work is busy for both of us at the moment which means we're both working longer hours.

pebble82 · 15/02/2017 22:13

Shuffling on after being rudely shoved off the Feb bus by AF!

Age: 34
TTC: #2
Cycle 4
AF due 21st March (I have 34 day cycles, just to add to the prolonged misery!)

Haven't been trying anything special apart from vaguely looking out for ewcm and trying to DTD every other day from CD10-25. EWCM doesn't tie in with 14 days before AF for me. It's often there twice in a cycle but mostly more noticeable 9 days before. Any ideas??

Also, chuck some ideas at me for boosting chances of a BFP...

harrypotternerd · 16/02/2017 00:06

According to ovia my FW starts today and I got a high reading on CB OPK this morning. I have also been taking vitamins. I am trying not to get my hopes up but I can't help it

lampfromikea · 16/02/2017 09:42

As we are only going by dates, either yesterday or today marks the end of FW but a bout of food poisoning over the weekend has left this months chances a bit slim.

Couple of questions for those of you who use OPKs, and please don't take this as me being rude/judgy because I'm not. Just genuinely interested.

Did you start using them from the off or did you start off going by estimated dates then use them after a while of trying?
Why did you choose to use them instead of any other method of working out your FW?
Roughly, how much do you think you have spent TTC using them, and do you think that they are effective in helping to conceive?

Again, please don't think I'm being rude, I have just never personally seen the point of using them so want to understand the reasons behind using them!

MistyBxx · 16/02/2017 10:19

Hiya lampfromikea,
Don't think you're judgey at all don't worry ☺️
I personally had no idea how to ttc, I just thought you have unprotected sex. Literally. So when I came off the pill in Sept and had lots of sex, I wondered why by Nov I hadn't caught. So then started looking into it and found out about dates and fw and ovulating etc.
Opks just seemed common sense to me, I'm not great at reading my body lol so I didn't fancy just trying to guess, I just thought if there's a little line that can tell me exactly when my LH levels are highest, that would mean that my egg is due to pop out within the next 12-24-48 hours so I may as well try to dtd as much as poss around that time.
However, I had a bit of trouble reading them correctly... I just assumed 2 lines meant a positive, but as we produce LH every day, 2 lines is ONLY a positive if they are identical in colour or test line is darker than guide line. So I haven't had any success so far... and then there's also the issue of what the apps say and times compared to what the tests say. I'm meant to be in my fw now, and yet I've only had negative opk so far (the line is getting darker but not yet a strong or matching line) although I've had ewcm this week and today I'm having low down dull pains which in my mind are ovulation pains, but if it is, then why are the opk still saying negative?
So there is a question of accuracy... what's the truth? The dates and the physical symptoms? Or the lines on the sticks?
It's a minefield!x

Oysterbabe · 16/02/2017 12:09

I've spent £5 on them, which got me 50 from Amazon. They definitely helped me identify the best time to have sex and conceive my DD. Still have about half left so am using them this time round too. I guess if I use them all before conceiving l may spend another £5. I am very tired and have a toddler, I want to make sure I focus my efforts at the right time.

CD11 here and masses of CM. Hoping we're gearing up to ovulation. Last night's OPK was snowy white.

confusedinlimbo · 16/02/2017 12:46

I'd like to join too please!

Currently haven't a sodding clue where I am in my cycle....blood tests are showing low levels of hcg at the moment (due another tomorrow) but they aren't at viable levels so just waiting for them to come down or decide whatever the hell they're doing. Guessing it's a chemical pregnancy (HATE that term) but this was first cycle off of contraception so no idea how long my cycles normally are...

Hopefully my body sorts itself out by March!

confusedinlimbo · 16/02/2017 12:47

Oh also, I'm 30 and this would be cycle #2 TTC our first

stuckinny · 16/02/2017 13:53

Hi lampfromikea
This is my first month using opks. I decided to try them for many reasons: I'm 38 so wanted to make sure everything was still working properly. It's been 11 years since I got pregnant with DS. I've also had four months of crazy cycles. It was regularly 29-30 days then dropped to 24-25 days for two months then up to 35-36 days for a couple of months.
We are going to take a two month break after this month so it was also a way to maximize our chances of getting pregnant.

Since my plan was to just use them for one month I bought a CB packet at the local shop.

allthecheese · 16/02/2017 14:17

Hi guys! I shall also be jumping on...

Age: 32
CD: 24
Cycle #2

Misty I was the same as you this month. All OPKs were negative, despite the signs being that I was ovulation. I didn't test every day so am assuming I just missed it. V annoying.

Have covinced myself I'm pregnant, despite not having much sex this month. Am run down, super tired, feeling a bit sicky. I'm also competing in something this weekend that I really shouldn't be doing if I am pregnant, but it's too early to test I think!

But I think it's just symptom spotting and I couldn't be that lucky that I am pregnant :(

MistyBxx · 16/02/2017 14:32

I've convinced myself every month I'm pg 😂 but I've always felt like I've dtd plenty but this time I've only done it once in fw (well twice but the second time didn't finish... well he said he did but there was no 'evidence' left in me or when I went to the loo the next morning, it was 2am and I think he was just shattered lol) now I feel like I'm ovulating today and already know it's gonna be hard to dtd tonight coz he's working super late so I feel like this cycle is already a lost cause. Least I won't be symptom spotting in my 2ww lol coz I know we haven't done it enough. The first time in fw he did say there was about a pint that must have gone in lol sorry tmi, but that was 5 days ago. Chances of any of them sticking around til now are slim 😩
Don't discount your feelings though, symptom spotting is a bugger lol BUT my friend (who was not ttc, had come off the pill for medical reasons and had a 1-night stand who promised to withdraw but didn't) woke up the next day and said she immediately "felt" pregnant. No previous kids so no experience of sensations, she just said she knew she was... and she is!!! So trust your body to a certain extent... but try to keep it real haha xx

Carlotta82248 · 16/02/2017 14:56

I've used various opks (clear blue dual, standard and ICs) all of the months (5) we've TTC, conceived once in the month we had the least sex! Scrapping them this month and just going back to regular sex throughout month as I think they shift focus too much onto a couple of days and also increase obsession. I'm sure the majority of the worlds population were conceived without so we shall see how we go x

Itsjustaphase84 · 16/02/2017 17:04

Jumping on...
CD1
Cycle 4
TTC 2
Age 32

allthecheese · 16/02/2017 17:46

To answer the question above, I've used the Clearblue OPK but felt so guilty about how expensive it was that I probably didn't use it enough to catch when I was fertile. I'll be moving to the amazon cheapies. Also used Ovia and looked for symptoms. That was in cycle 2.

pebble82 · 16/02/2017 18:14

I used OPKs when ttc DD and also temped. I never got a positive OPK (I know I ovulated as my toddler is evidence!) and my temps weren't reliable either. I saw a drop the day before my BFP, a sign of AF being on the way. I even told DH it hadn't been our month. But it was. I'm reluctant to try any OPK or temperature monitoring this time round because of that. Annoyingly I got pregnant more or less straight away last time and now on cycle 4 this time and had waaaaay more sex in FWs. Grr ☹

Foggymist · 16/02/2017 18:36

Hello, can I join here please. Currently coming to the end of af/chemical pregnancy so will be properly trying in March.

Age: 31
TTC: #2
Test date will be March 13th

lightgreenglass · 16/02/2017 22:06

I decided to use OPKs this month as my cycles were getting shorter after mc and I felt I couldn't trust FW predictions as different apps give you different FW. My last couple of pregnancies I've fallen in the first one or two months so thought there was no harm as taking longer this time round.

My verdict so far is that it's a crock of shit - I've tried to clear blue advanced ones and I've had 8 days of smiley faces but I've been having ovulation pains too so I'm pretty sure I've ovulated. I don't think I'd bother with them again.

Thingymaboob · 16/02/2017 22:43

I hate OPKs and temping. It makes the whole process so stressful. My OPKs did not show positive on the month I caught, I just dtd every other day in fertile week. That's all I'm doing from now on.
