help post coital testing???????

Well, my temp charts were great and he says I'm making great eggs every month, must be dh's fault. They want us to do a post coital test, anyone had one done? how long does it take to get results? Anyone been told that spotting during cycle could be from irritating sperm vs. mucus compatibility?

I think you should read the Nice guidelines for infertility. The evidence shows that post coital tests have no/little clinical value in assessing infertility. Thisis aside from the discomfort and embarrassment the tests cause.

Has your DH had a straightforward sperm test at the fertility clinic? which clinic are you at if you don't mind answering

Yes We have had this test. And it is a valid one if particularly embarrasing one! I tell you we nearly couldnt manage to be prepared at all because we knew someone would be checking afterwards! they even ask you "when" you did it!
It checks the mobility of the sperm, whether your mucus kills off the sperm and also how far up you the sperm has moved in a given time! I know its awful but it is a good test. My husband is the one who had problems in our marriage and we had loads of tests. I must tell you that now though I have three kids! So you keep hoping and try to get through these awful things they devise!

the spotting I always had it, some women just do at mid month from ovulation. nothing to do with sperm!
