TTC after Cerazette

Hi all,

Hoping any of you lovely ladies who were taking Cerazette may be able to share your experiences?

I stopped taking this pill at the beginning of July 2016 as me and DH decided to try for #1! I was on Cerazette (with no bleeds) for 3 years and on other Pills before this for 7 years. However it took until late September 2016 until I had my first AF (which only lasted 1day). Since then I have had regular cycles but they only last 1 day and are extremely light! Starting to feel a little deflated by all the BFNs (hoping each time AF arrives that it may have been Implantation) Sad

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it too soon to seek advice from my GP?

Thank you and baby dust to you all Star

I stopped taking cerazette as well at the end of May. I have been having 1 day periods as well but have just had a very light 3 day period. Cycle has also been shorter than before! Can't offer any advice as was wondering the same thing myself. I have started taking B6 and tying for a baby supplments as I was hoping they may help with hormonal balence?

Hi username,

Thanks for getting back and it's nice to know I'm not the only person with this side affect! I must admit this month I started taking Angus Castus (up to CD14) as well as magnesium supplements and I started getting cramps over the past couple of days prior to AF (which arrived today exactly 28days) and for the first time it is a little heavier than previous cycles so may continue using these supplements and see if it helps!
I've booked an appointment with my GP so will post back and let you know what they say! Good Luck!

Hi... I'm new to mumsnet.
I've been reading through a few different "cerazette now TTC" posts. I've read the positive stories and I've read the horrors.

I stopped taking Cerazette 12 days ago, me and my parter decided to try for baby no 1. I am 21 and have used his pill since I was around 14 so that is 7 years and have had no bleeding.

12 days after stopping I still have had no bleed but I am aware some people can conceive right away without a bleed. I hope I am that lucky!

I stopped taking cerazette in September 2015 and AF's only turned up 4 times since then. I've been pestering various doctors since January 2016, they did say 'just wait a bit' initially just started taking it more seriously by summer last year. I've finally been diagnosed with PCOS so working out where to go from here. Anyway, in my Internet trawls for answers I found loads of people saying AF had vanished post cerazette but also plenty of people saying they'd conceived regardless, so my advice is don't worry too much, but do ask your doctor to check that it's not just your standard post-pill amennorhea. (I feel like I should know how to spell that word by now but not sure that's right - hopefully you know what I mean anyway!)

Hi
I'm the original poster and thought I would just update you where I am at now. I came off the pill in June 2016, didn't get AF until September and since then although I have been regular (28-30 day cycles) it only likes for 1 day (if that!).

My Dr sent me and DH for tests, his were fine but my progesterone is very very low Sad we are now going to be referred to a fertility clinic (from 1st July when it has been 12 months) for further investigations! I am hoping that we get lucky before this date though!!

I have been told by my Dr that this particular pill can take a year before cycles even become normal (let along conceiving)!! Wish I knew this prior to going on it.

I am 28 and ttc #1 so getting very disheartened with every month that passes and AF arrives!

Wishing you ladies lots of luck Smile

Positive cerazette story for you jade!!! I stopped cerazette on 12th February this year after being on for 21 months, didn't get first period until March 22nd and I am now 5+3 weeks pregnant. We didn't start ttc until my first period arrived. And dtd every other day from week after period started. I also used ovulation tests and I ovulated on day 21 as opposed to the more standard day 14.
Good luck!

JadeC96 · 05/05/2017 22:46

Hi Emma2803,

Thanks for that! That's so good to hear. I hope I've already caught on and don't get a period but I'm looking out for my period at all times incase. I'm on day 15 since ending cerazette and still nothing. Me and my partner have DTD around 12 times in 15 days but I lost all my "want" for it whilst on the pill so we are just having fun right now. BlushWinkGrin Everyone keep their fingers crossed for me!

Everyday I think in my head "I really believe I already am" and I get overwhelming butterflies in my stomach because even the thought makes me immensely happy. ♥️

Thanks everyone!

@Emma2803 for your due date are you going by ovulation when you say 5 weeks? Only asking as my LMP was a day in front of yours, so you should be further than me, and I am 6w 2 days today?

Emma2803 · 06/05/2017 11:33

Yes going by ovulation plus two weeks.

Lottiel28 · 06/05/2017 12:19

Hi Emma, that's great news! Congratulations to you! Do you mind me asking how long your cycles are normally? When doing OPKs the times that I think I get a positive are usually day 19-22 and I worry about having a short luteal phase! xxx

OP posts:
Emma2803 · 06/05/2017 13:05

Thank you lottie!! I'm not really sure how long they are if that makes sense as I only had one cycle since stopping. I think my luteal phase was only 11 days that cycle. How short is your luteal phase usually?

Hotpinkangel19 · 06/05/2017 13:37

Ah right! Thought so! @Emma2803 sorry to be a pain but when did you know exactly when you ovulated? X

Emma2803 · 06/05/2017 13:52

I definitely ovulated on the 11th which was a Tuesday as I had really strong opk tests from Sunday and Monday and had really bad pains in my side on Tuesday evening.

Hotpinkangel19 · 06/05/2017 14:04

That's good, I would have no idea!!!! 😂 I

Lottiel28 · 06/05/2017 15:41

Ahh yes that does make sense Emma, with only having 1 cycle since stopping ! Mine have been 9 or 10 days but GP doesn't seems to think it's a problem! I suppose I'll find out more when I go to the clinic.

Hi everyone. Update.. today is day 18 since my last pill and I have bled today... very light right now but I'm glad I've had something so I know my body is working after 5 years of Cerazette. I'm so excited for my future and I pray that my body is normal, happy and healthy ♥️
