DancingUnicorn I bet those people who are asking when you're going to have children have none themselves, right?! That question always pisses me off, because it's one that no one can answer. We took 16 months (about 11 or 12 cycles) to conceive DD1, and we're now on cycle 4 ttc DC2. I wish I could predict the future and know whether there will be a DC2. DD1 felt like a bit of a miracle, as we had just been referred to the FC, and I was going to have an HSG test, when I got my BFP. DH also had a very low sperm count, so I know we're by no means guaranteed success this time....
And if I knew there were to be no more DCs, I could sell or donate all the hoards of clothes that DD has grown out of!

Hope you're okay confused... we're not out til we're out right? I'm still getting normal pre-AF cramping but not actually due until Sunday. Feel like AF might come early (which isn't unheard of.) Zero pregnancy symptoms, all quite disappointing but just want to know now. Have my fingers crossed for you.

HeyJupiter · 18/01/2017 19:02

Grumpy what a lovely message from your DH. How reassuring. It's taken my DH a very long time to get where we are now. When we first met (6yrs ago) he was very unsure about whether he even wanted kids. Took a lot of heartwrench and soul searching getting through that period. But here we are now :) I am careful with him though as know he takes time to process stuff too. He will be an amazing dad .

HeyJupiter · 18/01/2017 19:04

Wow well done buzz! Hope you enjoyed your meal :)

DancingUnicorn · 18/01/2017 19:08

Girlie they're all good friends (apart from my ex, which was just the weirdest thing ever!) and I don't really mind them asking. I imagine I will in a few months time though. It's why I wonder if I should just tell them I'm trying and at least then they're not asking out of nosiness, they'll be asking out of concern! Iyswim. But think I'll hold off until their questions are actually upsetting me!

I'm keeping my fx for you confused and Jupiter. Not out till you're out. The waiting is horrible! I'm only at the beginning of the tww. Really slim chance for me this month though!

Mrsc my app says I'm ov today. But don't think cm is quite ew, based on descriptions I've read... and swear I kept imagining ov pain on Monday. Need to keep a better record of all this!

Wiggleyfingers · 18/01/2017 20:35

Really interesting hearing people's experiences of being asked if they're ttc. I got annoyed at a colleague recently because we were discussing working PT and juggling childcare. She made an off-hand comment about it being ages until I need to worry about that! A lot of my colleagues waiting until their mid thirties to have a first so I think in her head me being 26 means that it's way in the future. I did have a little snigger to myself, I wonder if she'll remember that comment if I am lucky enough to share pregnancy news later in the year Grin

Parastars · 18/01/2017 20:44

Thanks for all the welcomes!
Well done to those of you who have posted about your weight loss successes! I lost 2lbs last week but I'm not feeling too hopeful for this week (I weigh on a Friday) as it's star week and I have been quite hormonal. Had a serious cry earlier for no reason at all really earlier which is not at all like me! I think my hormones are still all over the place, even though I have been off the pill since October.
Ah well, I feel better for a good cry and a cup of tea with some Big Brother is helping me feel a bit more normal again!

Parastars · 18/01/2017 20:48

Oh, and with telling people, I have told my mum and that's it. Last thing I would want is people speculating (although I know they will anyway!). However, sometimes I think it might be helpful if people knew as I'm sure some will have helpful stories etc. People tend to just announce pregnancy don't they, rather than TTC which can make it look like it happens easily for everyone else when that isn't necessarily the case!

HeyJupiter · 18/01/2017 20:52

Parastars sounds like a good way to unwind. You can't beat a good cry sometimes.

Wiggley people ask me constantly when we're going to start TTC. My manager even asked me outright a few weeks ago if I was pregnant!? I think because we got married in October it seems like a natural progression. I am openly broody in the office too when babies are mentioned so you can't blame people for assuming. Only my mum, sister and best friend know that we're actively trying. They are the only people I would probably tell before 12 weeks anyway so makes sense. Yes, I hope you remind your colleague of that conversation later this year!

So tempting to test tomorrow (10DPO) but think I'll resist. Not sure I could cope with the disappointment and then face a full day at work!

buzzmoon · 18/01/2017 20:57

Thank you Jupiter! It was lovely 😋 I feel lucky because my friend is as equally broody and baby obsessed (this is all we talk about!) but her DP wants to wait till next year to start trying, must be so hard for her to resist!

wiggly I get it all the time cause I'm only 23 and I think the reaction will be 'you have your whole life ahead of you' 'what a waste' blah blah blah, people are so judgy! Especially in London where I feel like it is always later/after your career you'd start trying?

buzzmoon · 18/01/2017 21:00

24! I'm 24! Too much wine 😂😂

HeyJupiter · 18/01/2017 21:06

buzz I think it's great that you're TTC in your twenties. In some way I wish I had too (I'm 32) but I didn't meet my DH in time. There are lots of advantages to having children at this point in your lives and it means that you'll still be young and healthy when they leave home Grin

Ohhh a glass of wine! DH has promised me a posh lunch (complete with glass of wine) on Sunday if AF arrives. Silver linings..

buzzmoon · 18/01/2017 21:30

Jupiter I really am a believer that age is just a number, it really doesn't matter to anyone but society.

A posh lunch with wine sounds perfect! Maybe you can push for sparkling?? 😏

MrsC2017 · 18/01/2017 21:31

I get that too and I'm 27 and married so hardly a shock, a friend of mine is such a career woman and thinks because I haven't reached the heights that that should be my main goal, so in a general discussion I said if I'm having another it won't be in the distant future and she was a bit shocked, plus I have been parenting for 7 years already so I'm already doing the mom thing!
jupiter I'm going to get DH to promise me the same thing if I get AF too! Great idea!
para and buzz well done on the weightloss and nick I hope your weigh in goes well!
unicorn I know I keep logging things in ovia hoping it'll build some sort of a pattern for me! My old app was just basic period tracking, ovia is a minefield!

HeyJupiter · 18/01/2017 21:32

Sounds like a plan! Although If I am pregnant I also still want the posh lunch (without the wine of course) so either way something to look forward to :)

HeyJupiter · 18/01/2017 21:34

In other news Ovia just told me to read some erotica. That was unexpected and quite different from the normal "gas and bloating' commentary!

MrsC2017 · 18/01/2017 21:41

jupiter ovia definitely loses the run of itself sometimes! Grin

TheGrumpySquirrel · 18/01/2017 21:49

Thanks Jupiter I hope he can relax soon and enjoy it! Can't believe your manager asked you that (although two of my senior managers asked me just before I got married recently .. I was so shocked they would bring it up!!) i made it clear DH would be the PT / SAH parent if we did do it as unfortunately my role would not be suitable for a long mat leave or PT.. although I could go 4 days if I wasn't bothered about progressing Hmm

TheGrumpySquirrel · 18/01/2017 21:51

I've just left a work dinner managed to only drink 2 glasses of wine.. enough to avoid suspicion lol but not enough to leave me with a hangover thank god

confusedat23 · 18/01/2017 21:56

I'm holding up Jupiter Dancing and HP

I've got a FRER for tomorrow morning and then thats it... tbh I am counting myself out anyways.

I just had a little pathetic moment where DH was talking about his friend who accidently made a baby and how their group chat is all baby talk... i stalked off to bed and had a little cry about the baby we have not made.

I'm blaming pre-af hormones... bring on Saturday so I can binge eat! Lol

Also hello to the newbies I have missed out saying hello to so far!!

grumpy how much mat leave you planning on taking? I know this was discussed the other week but I can't remember!

HeyJupiter · 18/01/2017 22:05

Not pathetic confused, you've been on such an emotional rollercoaster this week Flowers At least we will have an answer either way soon.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 18/01/2017 22:09

Seven a max of 6 months. And I'll go in for all ten KIT days.

Confused hang in there! You will know soon

Mummyme87 · 18/01/2017 22:11

Not long been home after afternoon tea at the oxo tower restaurant. Bottle of wine, glass of champagne and cocktails 😍 Avoid SW weigh in today

confusedat23 · 18/01/2017 22:12
