Thread 24. TTC #1 - It's been a tough start to the year but 2017 is still the year of the BFP

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

It's not been the best start of the year for most but we're still trying to keep it PMA Star

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Well done pyjamas!!!

Thanks everyone... feeling a bit emosh as I sit and eait for scan. Your kind words mean a lot.

Flashinthepan · 26/01/2017 08:50

Keep us posted Kwick I've got everything crossed!

Well done pyjamas DH and I only managed 6 and 5 days before OV and the day before and the day after so I'm in awe of your superior DTD. Next month I will be much more on it!

Jam that sucks, especially when you fall back to sleep to the same bad dream.

Brown spotting has stopped and FF has now picked up OV and says I'm 6 DPO! So now I'm thinking maybe it was ovulation bleeding? Gah! Still it means I'm about half way through the 2WW having thought I wasn't even going to get one! Perhaps thats the trick lady, rile yourself up about something else and by the time you talk yourself down you're nearly there!

I'm calling on you as the charting guru Alexia, does this look normal?

I'm not an expert on charting, I'm still learning myself so I'm very happy to be corrected. But to me it looks like you might have ovulated on the 23rd?

Binkybunny13 · 26/01/2017 09:41

Hey all, had a bad day yesterday so mammoth catch up coming now..

Thanks for the positive vibes after my gp trip ladies. Skipper I'm 31 and I think Ive been ovulating about day 22 in a 36day cycle (I only used OPK the first few months when I was on 31 day cycles, so I'm guessing with O based on CM etc). Going to do OPKs again next month I think. And so pleased for you kathrino- hope the BFP turns up before you get through all the fertility tests!

Hi gee, hope you're ok? Lovely to hear from you but sorry you're feeling so glum. Take care of yourself Flowers

Awful news about miw, heartbreaking. Hope she knows we are here if she needs us

Alexia how devastating to hear that whilst you're going through all this Flowers Hope you're doing ok, look after yourself

Good luck Kwick! How are your bum spots?!

Hope it goes really well today skipper. Thinking of you- Sorry hospital brings back such traumatic memories Flowers

Jam hope your DH has realised he needs to be a bit more thoughtful! Another example of how the boys just don't get it (the silly wallies)

Great news about the offer Harriet! Fx this means your new (family) home is just around the corner (with your BFP)Smile

passmethewine123 · 26/01/2017 09:43

Although looking again I guess OV on the 23rd doesn't match up with your CM or OPK results etc. Just doesn't seem like a very big temp change, your chart looks more biphasic after the 23rd.

Peaches8Posies · 26/01/2017 09:54

Morning everyone Smile

Had a throughly lovely day with my friend and her baby. Had a great chat about everything that's been going on with me too so was nice to offload a bit in RL. She told me a lovely story about someone close to her who, against all the odds and after much much heartache, is nearly 20 wks. Love these stories remind me how wonderful our bodies really are Halo

london i hate these types of dreams. I had a horrible one few months ago woke up crying and very angry. Was in a funny mood all day. OH declared me mad when I told him why Grin.

pyjamas wow! As kwick is busy I'm awarding you some CakeCake and StarStarGrin

flash chart looks good. I'm sure the wonderful alexia she of great chart knowledge will help soon Grin

I seen this message on fb and I thought I would share. alexia this reminded me of what you were saying to me. I am guilty of feeling left behind, and I know some of you feel the same. Our time will come ladies. Sooner than later I hope FlowersSmile

Will read back in a mo - but for now:
Jesus Mary and Joseph! That was one of the most traumatic experiences if my life. Thank God there was good news at end.

  • scanner was silent for a long while then said she could see 2 egg sacs
  • silent for another while, said very hard to see due to my retro something uterus
  • I started crying from the stress
  • had to get dressed to go to another scan room
  • lots of silence then confirmatio only one sac, what they thought was a fetal pole and heartbeat
  • told to go empty my bladder (seriously it filled up in 20 minutes!)
  • scanned again - all good news confirmed, more crying
  • told to rescan in 2 weeks
  • lots more crying
I am exhausted... glad that I have a busy work day to get through.
MouseLove · 26/01/2017 10:09

Kwick. YAY!!!!
I'm so happy for you. That's awesome news. Sounds like you had a similar experience to me, only I had a wee just before the scan. Could not hold a single second longer. I'd drank so much water it was silly. I'm so glad everything looked good and I'm hoping this means you feel a little more relaxed for another few weeks. You are growing a human. Wowzers!!!!! 😘

HepKestrel · 26/01/2017 10:11

oh kwick that sounds traumatic! Flowers

am glad it was good news in the end - look after yourself and destress!

put your feet up and have a pamper session or what ever you need to regain zen like calm - doctors orders* !

*not a doctor Wink

Kathrino · 26/01/2017 10:12

Hurrah kwick, so glad for good news this morning!!

Pyjamas81 · 26/01/2017 10:23

Yay yay yay kwick! So glad you got news, but my god that sounds stressful!!

Thanks for the Cake and Star peaches! Just a waiting game now. Once ov is picked up, I can relax for a bit. Sounds like you had a great chat with your friend, I always feel better after being able to actually talk it through.

I'm no chart expert flash, but I think that looks about right when compared to your CM and OPK results!

Hope you're doing ok skipper

Right - must only drink a moderate amount at work do tonight so all our efforts don't go to waste!

Miranda234 · 26/01/2017 10:25

Great news kwick so happy for you Smile

Flashinthepan · 26/01/2017 10:35

Oh Kwick that's great news, even if it did go via terrifying on the way to good!

Passme the rise in temp is much smaller than my previous ones, but to be honest I'm not sure how accurate I am at temping sometimes. All other signs point to having OVd though (sore boobs after EWCM and OPK) so perhaps just responding slowly to the progesterone? Or not a good egg this month so progesterone lower?

Londonjam · 26/01/2017 11:00

Oh kwick thank goodness! I've been feeling nervous for you this am. So relieved! Yay 😀

sk1pper · 26/01/2017 11:29

Mines over too. I cant sugar coat it, it was horrendous. A 10 minute procedure took me half an hour. Womb was a bit twisted so dye wasn't getting up the tubes for the first 20 mins. He kept swapping and changing parts of the clamp and applying more and more pressure. Then finally everything straightened and the dye rushed up both tubes...cue the most horrendous white hot pain I've ever felt. I had two nurses holding my hands, the consultat trying to small talk me to distract me...fuck knows what he said to me, the room was spinning. Then it was over. Feel fine now.

The actual tubes are perfect and the nurse told me she'll see me again for my baby scan so they seem confident they've "fixed" something.

I have to say, the staff were incredible and I'm going to write them a little thank you card as I made a far too hasty exit after the procdecure.

Kwick - Glad it's all good news for you too, so lovely to read your post on the way home. We were probably in at the same time xx

Pyjamas81 · 26/01/2017 11:33

Oh wow skipper - what an ordeal! But so glad for you that it's done, your tubes are clear and they were positive about what they may have achieved 😀 Are you in any pain now?

HepKestrel · 26/01/2017 11:33

ow skipper sounds unpleasant (understatement)
glad its all good outcome though.

you have earned some Cake

sk1pper · 26/01/2017 11:41

Pyjamas - some very mild cramping, like period pain but its not that bad to be honest.

I want to say, thanks to all your lovely messages this morning. I love you all xx feeling really emotional about it all now

Pyjamas81 · 26/01/2017 11:52

Glad it's just mild cramping skipper - you'll be good to go in no time 😉

Binkybunny13 · 26/01/2017 12:01

Great news kwick and skipper! Sorry you had such a horrible ride this morning but fx you both have lots of excellent news coming your way now x

Londonjam · 26/01/2017 12:08

oh skipper that's brilliant news :)

This makes me want a HSG even more! God maybe I'll just bloody book one.

harrietm87 · 26/01/2017 12:10

Oh yay kwick! What a rollercoaster! So glad news was great.

Sorry to be pathetic here but can anyone tell me whether I need to dtd tonight as well? DH is knackered and really needed persuading last night! Will try to attach my ovia pic...

Thread 24. TTC #1 - It's been a tough start to the year but 2017 is still the year of the BFP
Miranda234 · 26/01/2017 12:28

Wow well done for getting through that sk1pper made me feel faint just reading it! Fx that does the job and you'll have your BFP in no time Smile

harrietm87 · 26/01/2017 12:31

Ah skipper missed your update - sounds horrendous but hopefully a good outcome! Did they say what they thought was wrong? Guess doesn't matter if they fixed it!

AlexiaB · 26/01/2017 13:12

Sorry been working, what a fab load of posts to return to though...

pyjamas amazing effort!!! Well done StarStarStar

Bad dreams like that really affect my day. Hope you're ok Jam Flowers

Peaches thank you for sharing that, it's so true. We will all have our time very soon I hope! Nice to see you back Smile and really pleased you had a great day with your friend and baby.

kwick that's just the most amazing news ever!!!!! What a relief to get there in the end, sounded horrific though. SO happy for you GrinGrin Yay for seeing the heartbeat😍

Ouch skipper - you trooper! Sounds bloody awful but so pleased all was well and the staff were lovely too. Here's to getting your BFP very soon BrewCake

Harriet if you're O'ing today (not sure?) then there's really no point dtd tonight I think.

Hi Binky waves and sends FlowersCakeBrew

Ok last but not least - Flash. Chart doesn't look the 'prettiest' but there is a clear temp shift. O may have been closer to CD13 though as the temp rise is more clearcut then. I wouldn't say it's CD10 because you noted EWCM on CD11 (you usually O the last day of or just after fertile CM ends) and it's unusual to O the day of a positive OPK (what time was it positive?). Either way it looks like you have O'd which is the important thing! Because your pre-O temps from CD4-7 are open circled and high it's also making your O temp shift not look as clearcut as they're above the coverline. If I just look at temps CD6, CD8 and beyond O on CD10 does look possible (based on temps alone). Hopefully I've not confused you more as I'm pretty sure I'm rambling!
