Thread 24. TTC #1 - It's been a tough start to the year but 2017 is still the year of the BFP

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

It's not been the best start of the year for most but we're still trying to keep it PMA Star

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Bleh some stupid woman opened her car door into my frigging broken wrist whilst I was walking home from work. I've just been to the hospital for another X-ray but luckily the break is still level. Can't seem to catch a goddam break right now..

Binkybunny13 · 23/01/2017 19:53

Oh skipper you poor thing! I'm really hoping this means you've got some amazing things round the corner Flowers

Kathrino · 23/01/2017 20:09

Alexia hope you have been shagging for England Grin

What a day!!! Thank God I got woken up at 2am by loud neighbour and weak bladder - as I realised I had not set my alarm for 4am. Have been to Paris and back today... shattered. Am going to watch some TV whilst eating Liqourice catherine wheels, then bed!

kwick · 23/01/2017 20:55

sk1pper WTF??? Hope you are suing for personal injury! Flowers

Mrsbluebell17 · 23/01/2017 21:15

Hi everyone. Can one of you help me please? I have the IC OPKs and I'm totally unsure what time of day I should be using them? X

kwick · 23/01/2017 21:17

mrsbluebell if this is your first time using them you probably want to test a few times a day - say at 11, 3 and 6?

Flashinthepan · 23/01/2017 21:20

Poor skip! And what a day kwick definitely earned that liquorice! I am a huge fan of liquorice.

Also thanks for the support, I have made a drs appointment. Soonest I could get was Monday but will have been bleeding for a week then if it carries on, so a good time to go I reckon.

Harriet I just looked at that thread! Incredible. Makes you feel hopeful it will be all our turns when the time is right.

AlexiaB · 23/01/2017 21:32

Kwick lol tonight will make it 5 in a row! Hope DH can keep up!!!

Skipper you poor thing Flowers Good luck is bound to be coming your way soon! Take it easy xx

Kathrino hope your egg has found a partner in crime Grin

Thanks Music hope you're well.

Bluebell pick a time to test in the afternoon which suits. You need to hold urine without fluids for 2.5-3 hours. I test once a day from CD8 and once I see the line getting darker I test 2 times a day. Today I tested at 3pm and it was 90% positive, I double checked at 8pm and it was 100% positive. Over the months I've learned how my body works though so I didn't really need to test again at 8pm. My test times are daily between 3-5pm and then again at 6-10pm if the line is darkening. Hope it helps Smile

Thank you for all the congrats ladies. DP was really excited when I told him. Tried to wait as long as I could but think I spilt the beans within 5 mins of him walking in the door ha. Still worrying about all the things that can go wrong though.
Also Sk1pper that is horrid! I hope the woman was apologetic. You'll be getting a good dose of good karma coming your way soon, you are def owed it!

AlexiaB · 23/01/2017 21:35

Completely missed your hectic day kwick... Woah what happened to slowing down!? Take it easy please! But give your neighbour a punch Wink

Mrsbluebell17 · 23/01/2017 21:50

Thanks Alexia and Kwick. That's mega helpful. I knew I shouldn't be using FMU like on pg tests but I wasn't sure when I should use them! Thank you both.

Londonjam · 23/01/2017 21:53

Ouch skipper that sounds so painful poor you!

Londonjam · 23/01/2017 21:55

Glad you've got your appointment in flash

Off to nosy at that thread...

Flashinthepan · 23/01/2017 21:58

I've now moved appointment to Friday even though I will have to go during work as the bleeding has now got worse. Almost like the start of a period. How ridiculous!

alexia I am in awe of your dtding.

Kathrino · 23/01/2017 22:35

That sounds sensible Flash, it definitely sounds like something that should be checked out. Hopefully you can get some answers soon Flowers

What a busy day kwick, hope you're not feeling too tired now. Have you got any other trips this week or can you take it easy?

5 in a row? I'm impressed Alexia.

Londonjam · 23/01/2017 22:39

How confusing and frustrating flash , I hope you have a very helpful gp, glad you don't have to wait too long

Kwick take it easy please! Everything crossed for Thursday 🤞🏼

No pineapple yet but I have had ceramics tonight and squeezed in day 10 of yoga with Adrienne 😇

Pyjamas81 · 23/01/2017 22:40

5 in a row Alexia!! I'm so impressed! Think me and DH would literally cry.

Really hope your luck turns soon skipper - I'll be rooting for you this Thursday ☺️

Waiting for DH to come upstairs and preseed already sneakily applied - oh the romance hahaha

I'm soooo sleepy 😴😴 No! Must wake up!

Pugmummy87 · 23/01/2017 22:45

Had a better day yesterday although we didn't end up going to Ikea, i think.we probably will go this weekend instead (also it's payday Wednesday so that will help!).
I went back to work today and it was OK, thankfully I have an amazingly supportive team which always helps.

carley you guessed right, I do indeed have a pug, I have 2, Frank who is almost 2 and Miss Moneypenny who is 15 months. They are my babies, I love them so much. Do you have a male or female? I've posted a pic.

flash do you bleed after dtd? I only ask as it may be a cervical erosion/ectropian which is where basically the inner cells of the cervix come out to the outside and anything that contacts the cells causes them to bleed. I have it and I bleed normally within about 24 hours of dtd and it lasts several days and can be quite heavy. All the dtd in the name of ttc means I can bleed for 2-3 weeks on and off. I did have cryotherapy treatment in the summer of 2015 and it worked for about 6 months but now it's back to what is was. I'm going to say something about it again at my fertility appt in April.

skipper that sounds painful, poor you! I hope you got a nice apology!

gimble congratulations! Definitely see a line!

Welcome ron

alexia I'm in awe of your dedication to dtd. We should probably tonight (we had a failed attempt yesterday morning) but I'm tired and stupid cervix erosion is bleeding. May have to just go for quickie.

harriet I just read that thread and teared up.

Pugmummy87 · 23/01/2017 22:47

Doh, meant to post pic of my puggies for carley and forgot. Here we are!

Thread 24. TTC #1 - It's been a tough start to the year but 2017 is still the year of the BFP
Peachyteach · 23/01/2017 23:30

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed...

Just did an early response test because I'm due on my period - irregular cycles but due but by law of averages

Think I got a BFP but not sure and scared it's too early only 9 DPO as I ovulate late.

What do you think???!
