Thread 24. TTC #1 - It's been a tough start to the year but 2017 is still the year of the BFP

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

It's not been the best start of the year for most but we're still trying to keep it PMA Star

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Kwick, it's not too intense and she normally gives lots of variations for the bits you can't do. I'm totally unbendy and I'm normally okay.

EJ, hope you're feeling better after yoga. This whole thing is so totally draining and it brings up all sorts of other emotions doesn't it? Take care of yourself and good on you for booking an appt. Flowers for you too binky, I hope your friend was supportive.

Peachy, I'm pretty relaxed about booze. I don't think the odd glass does any harm at all.

Good luck to all those testing soon. I've got a couple of days to go until FW starts so pretty relaxed over here and concentrating on getting some sleep ;)

Peaches8Posies · 18/01/2017 20:50

alexia hope you are feeling better. Nice to see you SmileFlowers

ej you are exactly where I was in October/November. Literally just wanted to curl up and tell the world to go away. You will get through this! I hope you have a good chat with your gp. Monday's chat with mine helped lift some of my anxiety Flowers

blinky same to you. I caught myself staring at pregnant women and their babies a few times and thought, ok enough is enough! At least you are looking a stuff online I'm probably freaking people out in shops!Blush

Have made a date to visit my friend and her new baby. Got some lovely cute presents today. Can't wait to do the baby shopping for myself (fx please)

Re the alcohol I think it's personal preference. The recent grads will probably tell you they have gotten their bfp's at a time of year when hey weren't as strict with themselves on these things. I tend to wait until after af is here and before I ovulate. I'm not a big drinker, a couple at the weekend so it's not a big miss for me tbh. I wouldn't over think it.

Have had a stressful evening. Over 3 hrs arguing with Vodafone who have royalty screwed my contracts up and over charged me significantly. Head is now thumping! Ankyway hopefully sorted now Angry. Trying not to think about the cm and sore boobs I've developed today. Hasn't came to anything before and there's nothing suggesting it will this time. I am not trusting the boobs girls!! Grin

EJ2009 · 18/01/2017 21:31

orange yes thats my big worry. I have quite a few symptoms. Before i was on the pill my periods were horrifically painful. Weirdly, the 10 months ive been off the pill ive very little period pain. I have howeber got these weird stabby and period pains in luteal phase, have achey hips, at times i have had blood from bowells and i'm often tired and grouchy despite good diet & exercise. Oh and im obviously struggling with fertility so yes i think thete is a good chance. I'm unsure how to approach the gp to take me seriously rather than thinking i've been googling.

EJ2009 · 18/01/2017 21:54

Thinking about the chance that something is wrong has set me off again. Im in such a state. DH got cross with me when i cried & said im obsessed with having a baby. He's a wonderful husband but he's not supportive with ttc as whilst he wants a baby he doesnt feel the pain i do so i just feel broken & alone in this.

Im so sorry to moan. I will leave you all in peace for a bit as im going on & nobody wants a whinge about.

Binkybunny13 · 18/01/2017 22:04

EJ Flowersif it helps keep talking to us. Or feel free to PM me (we can moan together)

Guys just don't get the all consuming nature of TTC for us- that our bodies do things that we notice AF all times, our hormones make us sensitive etc etc. It's so lonely, even when you have a loving DP (which it sounds like you do) they just can't understand

I feel for you. Stay strong x

Binkybunny13 · 18/01/2017 22:04

(Should say at not AF)

Kathrino · 18/01/2017 22:05

You don't need to apologise for anything EJ. We're here for you to moan to as much as you need, it's so hard for people who haven't been in this situation (and that includes husbands) to really understand how painful not being able to conceive easily is and how isolating it can be. I hope your GP takes you seriously; with those symptoms they should definitely be doing something.

Londonjam · 18/01/2017 22:31

EJ I could write word for word what you're saying about TTC and your DH. We had exactly the same conversation Monday night - me having sobbing meltdown and him saying I've had enough of this. They just don't get it - they don't get the biological urge and need to have a baby. We are programmed to want this - once you've set your mind to it it's impossible to ignore.

Vent all you need, we are all ears and know what you are going though 💐

GimbleInTheWabe · 18/01/2017 23:16

Alexia it was me who recommended the pregna plan and yep they're really rank! Seem to be the most natural/non processed out there though. I just down them with a load of water and the taste doesn't linger too badly that way. I'm only taking 1 ATM though cost realized the reason my pee was neon was a vitamin b overload. Not dangerous but not needed either ha!

EJ moan away Smile your DH might not geddit but we do.

And thank you for the flowers miranda xx

OrangeCloud18 · 19/01/2017 07:33

EJ Speak to your GP and insists on the pain you are having and endometriosis. If they do not know what it is (yep that happened to me so changed GP) or if they are not supportive at all go see someone else.
Worse case scenario, you have endo, you will have surgery (laparoscopy) and then will go on to have a BFP and a very healthy baby quickly afterwards :)
You can MP me about it if you want as I have done tons of research on it.

Miranda234 · 19/01/2017 07:55

AF has arrived here so onto cycle 6! On a positive note my cycles seem to be becoming regular now Smile

Hope everyone has a good day

kwick · 19/01/2017 08:09

Yep peaches DO NOT TRUST THE BOOBS!!!

EJ no apology needed - this is a support network! Moan away!

Sorry about AF miranda Flowers

HepKestrel · 19/01/2017 08:35

Flowers miranda

AF has left the building...... now the waiting for FW begins..... as opposed to the tww waiting...... ttc is just a lot of waiting ....

also..... I can't stand chewing gum..... i even have a reoccuring nightmare about the stuff in my mouth .....

Flashinthepan · 19/01/2017 08:51

Hugs for EJ. Sorry about AF Miranda but nice PMA!

I am now experiencing symptoms in the week between AF and FW. I woke up this morning feeling like I was going to be sick and it took almost an hour to go away. And I've got annoying indigestion and burping (gross!).

It does not seem fair to experience annoying pregnancy symptoms when you are 300 per cent NOT pregnant.

On the plus side, I got the faintest of squinters on an OPK this morning, so I'm hoping that in the next few days I'll get a proper line. That does mean that DTD needs to commence on a more regular basis (exciting!)

Flashinthepan · 19/01/2017 09:00

EJ I was just rereading your message about going to the GP and I would say, if the GP is not already aware, it might help them to take you seriously if you don't mention that you're TTC. It shouldn't make a difference but I think there's an inclination when people know that you're trying to get pregnant to say "Oh it's just stress, if you relax it'll happen" but you have genuine physical symptoms that need investigating from a health perspective. If you do mention that you want to have a baby, make it clear that you are concerned for your own physical wellbeing and that this is separate from trying to get pregnant.

Flashinthepan · 19/01/2017 09:01

Your own body, health and concerns don't stop mattering and shouldn't be minimized just because you're also TTC and concerned about fertility.

Presh88 · 19/01/2017 09:02

Hi all
I've had a much clearer BFP result today (1 day before AF due) and I think I'm going to keep a PMA and see what happens. I'm aware that I don't want to keep baby bombing in this thread so I'm going to back away and really really hope that all of you get your BFPs too
Best wishes x

Thread 24. TTC #1 - It's been a tough start to the year but 2017 is still the year of the BFP
Flashinthepan · 19/01/2017 09:15

Congratulations Presh and don't feel you have to leave. I can't speak for everyone but I love seeing people on here get their BFPs. It makes me feel hopeful!

Miranda234 · 19/01/2017 09:52

Huge congratulations Presh Smile

Kathrino · 19/01/2017 10:08

Sorry about AF Miranda, good luck for cycle 6 Flowers

Flash, I had AF-like cramps yesterday despite the fact that I am also between AF and FW. I briefly got excited and then realised that it couldn't mean anything at all. Stupid body.

Congratulations Presh!

MouseLove · 19/01/2017 10:22

EJ just wanted to drop in and say that your symptoms sound very much like a thyroid problem. They will run bloods and you'll have an action plan in a week. It can impact fertility so once you're on meds you may have more luck. Fx for you. X

Speaking of thyroid, I got an emergency appointment today after a phone call last night from my GP. I had bloods taken on Tuesday and results came back the same as they were in October. I'm hyperthyroid and unmedicated. They are concerned and paired with my lack of symptoms and clearblue digital tests not progressing they have said they want me to have a scan to make sure baby is ok, hopefully today. I'm fine, just trying to keep calm and hopeful. X

Kathrino · 19/01/2017 10:32

Keeping everything crossed for you Mouse, it's good that they're acting so quickly and I hope the scan brings good news.

Flashinthepan · 19/01/2017 10:35

Wishing you lots of luck Mouse.

Does anyone who uses FF to track cycles know if you only input OPKs with a proper positive, or any OPK with a line?

Kathrino yes bodies are totally weird! I often wonder if these things used to happen before but I didn't notice them because I didn't care or if they are only happening now because I'm TTC!

Londonjam · 19/01/2017 10:35

EJ that doesn't sound right at all, I hope your GP is very helpful

kwick the yoga sessions slowly build in intensity. Yesterday was abs week. You could always skip ones that feel too intense

Londonjam · 19/01/2017 10:40

Sorry about AF miranda , that is good news about your cycles though

Congratulations presh!

flash kathrino I get pregnancy symptoms before ovulation too haha! Felt sick and dizzy the other day at work and felt this tiny excitement before realising I hadn't even produced an egg yet, let alone fertilised it.

mouse everything crosse for you, hope its all alright

I got a blazing positive OPK last night and duly DTD. We are ON TRACK
