Are we doing it right?.

Can anyone tell us where we went wrong this cycle?. I've included a picture of my fertility calendar. I'm sure you all know how it works but just to clarify, days with green dots are fertile days with the day with the flower on 'day of ovulation'. Where there a love hearts on days this means we dtd. I haven't been temping or using opks, our method has been trying to dtd every other day. We've also been using preseed.

(Bit of backstory, we've previously conceived before but this ended in a late miscarriage, no fertility problems known to us, partner also has a child.)

*also another note, we had a 'month off' November cycle. Been trying since August.

I would have dtd on December 1st, 5th, 26th and 31st. You're not dtd enough. With dd1 I got pregnant 1st month and dd2 2nd month. We used YesBaby not preeseed. Good luck.

Hi Sally I'm sorry for your loss. it looks like you're doing alright. You dtd in your fertile window. Just try and remember that even if you get it spot on and dtd every day in your fw you'll still only have a 20% chance of it resulting in a pregnancy.

Thank you ladies, looking at the dates you suggested especially the 1st and the 25th I think these dates were where it just wasn't possible, 26th being is sleeping in the lounge on an air bed staying with family over Christmas. . Will definitely stick to our current schedule then so thanks for the advice. What does everyone think of pressed?. I haven't heard of yesbaby so may take a look at it. Our loss was in January 16 so we waited a few months before deciding to try again.

I think you're stopping too soon. I would have done the 5th & 7th (cd16 & 18) too.

How do you know you ovulate on CD15? Is it just from the app guessing? Over the years I've generally had a regular 28 day cycle but I've never ovulated on cd14/15. I've got 3 children all conceived cd17/18 (by my own dates from opks/temping and confirmed with early scans). Every other day is plenty but I'd try and keep it up until cd20 just to be sure if you can. Good luck

Silly question possibly, but can't you just DTD every other day throughout the month? Then you'd be covered no matter when you ovulate?

I would second DTD every other day throughout the month, both our DDs were conceived that way.

I'm not 100% sure of ovulation day so cd15 could not be our day I suppose as we're just following the app, my cycle is generally 27/30 days. I'm not too sure how or when to use opk but may look into those too. We don't tend to dtd every other day throughout the month just for our own sanity as I don't want it to become a boring chore and due to it not being practical sometimes. I think we got very lucky the first time round as we conceived in our first month trying! So actually don't know as much as I should!

In answer to your question , no don't think you are. I always think the advice to just do it every other day throughout the month is too simplistic, outdated and unrealistic advice- who actually has the time/energy to do this as well as decreasing the sperm count? I looked heavily into stats/success stories etc etc both times when TTC my 2 DC, I could just be very lucky BUT I conceived both times: the month I basically DTD every day from 5 days before ovulation, if you aren't sure start from a week before & do every day. I'd try and do on morning of and in evening of day ovulation for good measure, and 2days after too. Use pre-seed/conceive plus lube before sex. Stay lying in bed/cycling for 10 mins after DTD. We just dtd every other day. My cycles are irregular though so I never know when AF is going to arrive.
