Regular cycles?

This is probably a stupid question. I was just wondering if there was any kind of correlation between regular cycles and conceiving?

Basically, I came off birth control at the start of December, had a 2 day withdrawal bleed and decided to count that as CD1. I used to have 28 day cycles when on birth control but I knew that many women find their cycles become irregular for a few months while their body adjusts to everything so was preparing myself for that. However, I ovulated bang on CD14 and my period came CD28. I just wondered, if your cycles are spot on off b/c does that mean it might make it easier to conceive than if say, my cycles were long and varied for a few months whilst my body was settling down m? Or is it all just a complete waiting game with absolutely no guarantees for anybody lol?
