Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

May sound like a silly question...

I'm trying to track ovulation without opks, but using Ovia, if my period is shorter than what Ovia predicts does that mean I may ovulate sooner?

Do you mean the number of days you bleed for? If so that doesn't really have anything to do with what day you'll ovulate on. You really can't rely on an app to track your ovulation either. It's common for your ovulation day to vary month to month which will also affect your overall cycle length. Some people advise to count back 14 days from the start of your period but that would mean you would have to have the same cycle length every month and also have a 14 luteal phase which not everyone does.

The best thing if you don't want to use OPKs is to either have sex every few days all month or monitor your physical fertile signs and aim for lots of sex around then.

Good luck!
