Hi all. I'm new to these boards & just wondered if anyone had any advice about early miscarriages/chemical pregnancies. I already have 2 DS & conceived without difficulty. We have been trying for our third for 4 months. The first month I got a BFP but had a early miscarriage at 4+4. This month (our fourth month of trying) I had another BFP but this again resulted in an v early miscarriage at 4+5. I guess I just want some reassurance if anyone is in a similar position. Thanks all x

Sometimes a very low grade infection (not noticeable by you) can cause recurring miscarriage at 4-+ weeks . Apparently It's a common cause of early MC.

A low grade Infection could be have been lurking a long time, since last your baby was delivered.

It might be worth seeing a doctor at a GUM clinic ( I'm not suggesting you have a STI) as they are more specialist and their screening is good. They also can prescribe antibiotics for much longer should they be required.

If it happens again it might be worth a chat with them.
I found GP's couldn't treat me as I had no clear symptoms other than recurring MC. All tests were negative too. Once i had seen a doctor at the GUM clinic and I'd had a long course of antibiotics I fell pregnant and didn't loose the baby.

Good luck.

Thanks ladies for your replies. Whilst googling I did see about an infection can cause early miscarriage. I think we'll keep trying but should it happen again I'll make sure I'm checked at the GUM clinic. It has made me realise how much I want a third baby! Thanks again x
