AF has just about gone! Going to start using OPKs from Friday because I ovulated really early when ttc dd2. Feeling a lot more relaxed this month so far. But if I see another bfn I will probably lose the plot. Definitely no early testing here - roll on February :)

HopingForALittleOne · 11/01/2017 22:34

Happily hopping on :)
TTC #1
Will be going through iui process end of Jan to test mid Feb
:)

harrietm87 · 12/01/2017 09:18

Can I join?
I'm 30, TTC#1 and this is cycle 1 after having a year off TTC. We started last year and I had a chemical pregnancy cycle 2, then we decided to wait until after we got married. Think the wait has been good as DH is now really keen (I was pushing for it before).

AF just finished so next period due 8 Feb. Excited to get started!

Hippychic79 · 12/01/2017 12:34

Flora - I have reflexology, its amazing. I have acupuncture too which is also supposed to be really good for TTC.

Toots - great PMA.... love the bfp expected as oppose to af due... good luck :)

Welcome newbies xxx

I'm rather excited for my reflexology! Trying to be more positive in 2017 but my work is really testing me this week - and I've got a cold and sinusitis... Hurtled into FW - hubby is going to have to get on with it even though I look alarmingly gross

DarcyParty · 12/01/2017 15:21

Hi everyone, room for one at the back?
I'm 24, TTC #1, AF due 31st (or not!)
First month of trying :)

Hippychic79 · 12/01/2017 15:27

Flora - you will love reflex, its amazing. when's you appointment? I've got mine Monday and i really can't wait. Sadly its quite expensive so i only have it every 6 weeks or so. If you've found yourself a good therapist - they should be able to give you lots of information regarding your health... I find it fascinating ... sorry I'm a holistic geek :)

Welcome to the party Darcy :) Wish I was 24 :))))

florafoxtrot · 12/01/2017 16:06

It's tomorrow evening, the woman that is doing it seems to be some sort of fertility guru so I'm hoping she is going to give me some good tips!
You're not kidding about the cost though! But guess its worth a try in any event and will be an added bonus if it helps with stress generally.
I'll try to share tips on here as much as possible too

Feeling like this one will be the one!

toots123 · 12/01/2017 18:50

Thanks Hippy! I was on the buses with #1 and that's how we did our stats then, didnt realise that wasn't the way now haha

midgetjen · 12/01/2017 19:37

Tentatively joining in this month...
can anyone advise which ovulation tests they use please?
This would be our 2nd dc but as ds was a complete surprise, new to the concept of ttc! :)

FozBoz · 12/01/2017 20:40

Flora, will you report back on your experience with reflexology? I have heard it's really helpful for TTC and, tbf, it certainly doesn't harm but what do the practitioners actually do wonders if rubbing my own feet will yield results

midgetjen I use internet cheapies but start testing a few days after AF has buggered off. Cycle is short though getting old but have found them useful with mid afternoon sample each day till positive, and obviously DDT as much as possible.

Buying branded OPK can get quite pricey if you have to use them months on end, but you never know may do the trick first time round Wink

MotherofUnicorns · 12/01/2017 21:16

I'd love to have some reflexology as well, the price is a bit off putting but actually you have inspired me to think about it again! AF on her way out so i am going to start opks and DTD straightaway this month.

midgetjen · 12/01/2017 21:31

Thanks foz think will start with some cheapies this month and see how I go :)

Hippychic79 · 13/01/2017 09:02

Flora - Enjoy your reflexology today ... It is supposed to help, but aside from that it is very good for you. I wish my reflexologist was a fertility guru... although she did say at my last session that my hormones were active. Wish OH was as active in the bedroom... he works loads in a very stressful job so getting him to dtd (especially at the right time, as he doesn't want to start properly trying until later in the year is my biggest challenge!!) Yes - please let us know how you get on :) and of course what she says :)

Toots - I think we should all revert to the old way of thinking.. much more positive. I wonder if it would increase the success rate. I think I'll try it :) although I'm still waiting for the witch this month... I'm expecting her because we didn't dtd in my fw due to both of us having a cold - had sex cd9 o cd14... thus why I'm tentatively on the feb bus.... fx i can time the tackle better this month :))))

Midget - I use clear blue digital opks because they give you a definitive smiley face yes or blank circle no. I'd recommend buying the 10 packs as the 20's have been discontinued so may have shorter expiry date. I know this because i rang clear blue asking why they don't just sell the refills and why you have to buy the whole pack and their response was because the battery doesn't last long enough. Anyway the 10 pack should last 2 cycles assuming you know your cycle length and the instructions tell you when to start poas. I always use the first pee of the day and only test once a day - hope that helps ....

Good Luck Ladies xxxxx
Roll on Valentines Day and lots of Feb pregnancies xxxxxxxxxx

florafoxtrot · 13/01/2017 10:05

Will definitely post an update after the reflexology and let you all know how it goes. I suspect that stress might be hindering things for us a bit - we've both got really stressful jobs and I was under consultation for redundancy for a good few months last year.
Feeling a bit sorry for myself today as I've got a stinking cold which I suspect has become sinusitis. Its totally thrown my temping off so now I'm not convinced that FF will pick up my ovulation and guess I'll spend the TWW torturing myself with SS. And.... and this is TMI but my EWCM is tingled with what I am assuming is the end of AF! Why does she last for 8 days these days?!
Hoping this reflexology and then a takeaway with some friends cheers me up a bit but a long day at work to get through first Sad

Hippychic79 · 13/01/2017 11:02

Sorry to hear you’re feeling a little bit blue Flora – totally understandable in light of what you’re going through. I have found that acupuncture has helped regulate my cycles. I have been tracking my cycles since June last year (only on a spreadsheet, as I find the apps a little infuriating – I use ovia and glow – both of which can’t seem to accurately highlight my fw, when I input when I ovulate the fw dates change – which has made planning a nightmare). Anyway – the acupuncture which I’ve been having weekly since October has now regulated me to a 28 day cycle with a 5 day period with a decent amount of cranberry colour blood (sorry tmi, but this is the colour its supposed to be), previously I was only getting period for 3-4 days and the blood was darker in colour and not so much of it…. So I genuinely believe the acupuncture and reflex has helped with this.

Just to add – I got made redundant and although it was stressful at the time, it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. My point here is – try not to worry… I know that’s easier said than done.
Also – completely sympathise with you on the cold – I’ve had one for two weeks and its still lingering… its driven me nuts and I’ve been feeling sorry for myself too – so you’re not alone… it doesn’t help that January is a depressing month – and Monday 16th is hailed as Blue Monday – so officially the most depressing day of the year … and when af is due for me 
I’m confident the reflex will make you feel better and the take out with your friends… take comfort in the fact you’re not alone with this TTC lark… hope you have a totally indulgent week end and feel better soon xxxx

Hippychic79 · 13/01/2017 11:03

Unicorns - book yourself in for some reflex :)) and good luck with opk's and dtd xxxxx

Lindsaymarie89 · 13/01/2017 12:16

im up the wall! So AF arrived and only last 2 days! first day medium flow second day very light flow!
Might pop in to see GP to check everything is normal! second month with a 2 day AF!

Hippychic79 · 13/01/2017 12:26

Hi Lindsay - sorry to hear af got you :(
x

Mrsbluebell17 · 13/01/2017 13:35

Think I need to join you on here. Either AF has arrived early at CD25 or I'm having a chemical bleed.
Ive had a 33 day and a 27 day cycle for my last two. Had a horrid bleed at cd16 of cycle 2 - last month, which I suspect was a chemical. No idea what is going on, but here I am. Counting this as cd1 until I learn otherwise.

Good luck to all. Hopefully lots of lovely valentines news for you all in Feb Flowers

HollyMay84 · 13/01/2017 13:53

So I've got a feeling this is going to be a long one. Only cd11 today and my temps are fluctuating already! No +opk yet so def not ovulating early chance would be a fine thing!

Flora I hope you enjoy your reflexology today Smile I've never done it but I've heard nothing but good things

Sorry af got you Lindsay, if you think gp would put your mind at rest then I'd say go for it :)

Hi Bluebell, I hope those cycles settle down for you! Mine can be all over the place too sometimes so I know what it does to your head! Fx this cycle is good to you Smile

Mrsbluebell17 · 13/01/2017 14:10

Thanks holly. It really does make you feel allllll over the place.

florafoxtrot · 13/01/2017 14:46

Sorry AF got you Lindsey.
Thanks for your lovely message Hippy, I might mention that my periods are really long these days and see what her thoughts are - it is strange because nothing has really changed for me except that we've been TTC - I wasn't on birth control of anything before.
Hope you have a good weekend too Smile

Lindsaymarie89 · 13/01/2017 15:10

flora mine have gone the opposite... just 2 days! i did xome off BC in november though and had some abnormal cells removed recently so probs just all messed up but hoping gp can reassure me that its normal!
Hope your cycle sorts itself out soon :) good luck
