Hi all,
I seem to be posting on this part of the forum a lot recently!
Some background:
DH and I have been TTC since July. We had a early miscarriage/chemical pregnancy and 4w6d in October. Since coming off the pill in July, my cycles have been between 28 and 31 days, however, last month I had a cycle of 41 days, which was frustrating (and expensive, I've never POAS so much in my life)
I'm aware that we haven't been trying for long, and that there is no need to be concerned. However, I'm worried that my thyroid could be impacting.
I have been subclincally hypothyroid for years. Never treated, as my levels are always 'normal'. Despite this, I do have symptoms of an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism), such as fatigue and extreme sensitivity to cold (I'm currently in work with my scarf and a thick cardigan on...apparently it's really warm in the building today!)
I've had my levels back today. My TSH is 4.6 and my t4 is 11.6.
I've seen a number of time that TSH should ideally be between 1 and 2 when TTC.
I'm worried that this could affect us TTC. Even more so, I'm worried that this could be the reason for our early loss in October. I know it's probably not, and that early loss is very common, but I just wonder if the doctor should have mentioned this to me when I told her I was pregnant.
I'm going to make an appointment to see my doctor tomorrow, but does anyone have any experience of this or any knowledge they could share? I don't want to completely overreact, but DH and I are so ready to have a child of our own, and I want to be sure that this isn't being affected by something that could be fixed.
I hope that all makes sense. I'm typing fast because I'm on my lunch break! Many thanks for reading.
