Drinking in 2WW

So I am TTC but unsure about the 2WW and drinking alcohol. I've read that since the egg is travelling in fallopian tube for about 6 days and then implants and then there is little nourish from mother at this stage there is little risk until a positive pregnancy test. Is this right?

I spent about 50% of my TWW with DD pissed as I had my hen do and a friend over from Oz for a week before the wedding!

DD is absolutely fine. 😄

The egg/embryo doesn't take anything from the mother until the placenta starts to develop around week 5. Drinking in the 2ww is perfectly fine.

Ok thank you so much - that makes me fell much better!

If it was the IVF 2WW I think you would be crackers.

I'm not TTC using IVF. I take your point but I guess what MrsG outlines is still applicable.

Yeah it's fine though I wouldn't get smashed as I'm paranoid it would reduce my chances of catching and nourishing the egg.

I drank A LOT during the 2ww, not a single drop after, and DD has a hole in her heart. I'll never know for sure if it's my fault but I'll always think that it is. I've read everything I can find on the cause of heart defects and alcohol is definitely a factor.
I won't be drinking during the 2ww this time round. Even if it's not entirely rational, you're looking at a lifetime of guilt if the baby isn't born perfect.

Oyster good luck with TTC. I've no idea if drinking made any difference but Flowers for you and how you feel.
