Positive opk day after period due

Just that really. I know when I ovulated and the opk is now very positive. Period was due yesterday and temp is still high.

This is good, yes? (I have no hpt's in the house....).

I would go and get a hpt. Opks show positive when you're pregnant.

I've done some digging and it's something about how the OPK tests for both LH and hcg, because hbg is the same as LH but with a bit 'extra'. Which means that a HPT won't show the presence of LH because it doesn't have that extra 'bit'.

The problem is that an OPK could be showing you an LH surge if you were ovulating late (or apparently some women get them just before their period..??). So not infallible, but worked in my case, probably because I knew I wasn't ovulating and my period was late.
