Does anyone have experience of having surgery on a uterine septum?

As above really. I found out in September I have a subseptate uterus. I've just had my third miscarriage. I'm planning on asking for surgery to remove the septum when I go to recurrent miscarriage clinic. The consultant who did the 3D ultrasound scan said she would recommend it if I had a third miscarriage. Just looking for people who have been through this and wondering if you had a positive outcome?

Hi Amaried. I am the OP just under a different username now.

Well, my 3rd MC turned out to be just to a chromosomal problem so the consultant didn't want to operate at that point. I had a 4th MC in the May and the surgery to remove the septum in October last year. It had to take hormones for 6 weeks afterwards and we got the ok to start trying again after my follow up scan 6 weeks post-op.

I am pleased to report I got pregnant straight away, which had never happened previously, and I am 34 weeks today.

My sis has had 3 late miscarriages as she 'runs out of room' and is heartbroken at the moment.
Docs here in Ireland don't seem to do the op to remove the septum so would you mind sending me or pm ing your consultants name and details .. she will travel at this stage

Hey Amaried... was just wondering how your sister is getting on? I had a hysteroscopy with laparoscopy to resect my septum last week here in Manchester.
