Spotting and cycle days

Hi all,
My period always starts with a couple of days of light spotting. Should I be counting this as CD1? I've been tracking my cycles over the last few months in preparation for ttc and I've just realised maybe I've been doing it wrong?! I've tried to ask Dr. Google but couldn't find an answer, any advice would be really welcomed!

Full flow red blood where you need some kind of protection is day one!

Ah okay thank you Smile

I would personally. But it's meant to be full flow. I don't ever really spot though. My first day is usually very light but still use a pad.

Great idea to get to know your cycle! Tracking without temping, in your case, won't help much. I had the same issue. Are you temping too?

Wiggleyfingers · 13/12/2016 06:32

I am also temping, although trying not to get too obsessed too soon! Blush There isn't much difference in my temperature between spotting days and the full on flow days, occasionally .1 lower. Is it unusual to spot at the beginning?

If you're ok sharing, what colour is the spotting?

And is your bbt thermometer to two decimal places?

It can take 3 months to see a pattern form so keep going!

Wiggleyfingers · 13/12/2016 21:31

Pink spotting, and only to 1 decimal place so probably need an upgrade! I had the Mirena coil removed in September and didn't have periods for 4 years so hopefully things will sort themselves out soon.

Ah, 1 decimal place doesn't capture the temp change! I got this one.

Try a few cycles to see your pattern.

1 decimal place is pretty pointless. You need a bbt thermometer with 2 decimal places. X
