EWM question

I feel 12 asking but...

Does the ewm occur before ovulation or during or after? I.e. When mucous changes to non ewm (which I find to be quite sudden) is that game over for the egg?

I think I ovulated a bit later this month as I had ewm this afternoon which surprised me as I'm usually earlier in my cycle but by this evening I think that was it. (We are ttc!)

I get ewcm around 5 days before ov then sometimes the day before or day of ov. I often get creamy cm day of ov then sometimes a bit of ewcm after ov. So it's not just on the day of ov and can sometimes happen after.

Mine is often related to how much water I drink but I nearly always get it on cd6 strangely...

EWM - egg white mucus.
EWCM - egg white cervical mucus.

The fertile mucus that helps sperm meet egg.

I get weird amounts at random times in my cycle but I'm coming off the pill so I think my body is producing it for fun lol

The month I got my bfp I got ewcm a whole week after I ovulated

Edinburgh woollen mill made me lol! I LOVE it when someone says out loud whats going through my mind.... I didnt have a clue what ewcm was til i came in MN either. Not sure ive managed to see any from me either! I think i suffer as someone else mentioned on a different thread the creamy mucus which apparently isnt great for sperm to reach the egg and is more prominent if you drink lots of caffeine such learning curve ttc.

Lol at Edinburgh wool mill! My tracking app has a huge list of cm, ew being one of them so I forget the c.

Ok so a range of responses - when I conceived ds I didn't bother with cm, I was temping and used an ovulation stick and conceived right away so no chance to track.

I guess if I temped it might help me work it out - though I did notice I was suddenly much hotter this morning and woke very early (often another sign).

To be honest I don't notice it a great deal; I've been tuned into when it might occur due to the tracking app.

Just hoped maybe there was a chance of conception last night - I honestly thought I'd ovulated a few days ago!

There's a secondary oestrogen surge about a week into the luteal phase which can cause some ewcm: it doesn't mean you're fertile (obviously...), it's just because of raised oestrogen levels.
