Hi all hope you're doing well on this cold morning! So I've been off the pill for 2cycles, first cycle was perfect, ovulated on time tested by poas everything was bang on, period was short (3days) and light either side of one heavier day. This month was due to ovulate 2 days ago been checking using tests and so far nothing, the line might be getting a tiny bit darker but nothing to write home about. So am I just being impatient or was my perfect 1st cycle a fluke?!

On top of this historically I have had cfs (chronic fatigue syndrome) about 10 years ago with hardly any flair ups, the last 3 days I have been exhausted has anyone else had a cfs flair when coming off the pill? I'm not even sure if that's what it is?!

It's so confusing coming off the pill and your body readjusting that I'm not sure what normal is anymore!!

Any advice very happily received even if it's just wait! X

Coming off the pill your body is probably going into panic mode. Unfortunately there's no real way to confirm ovulation apart from a temp spike or a positive pregnancy test. The OPK we all use is just an indication your body is gearing up for something.

I'm pretty sure I didn't ovulate the first cycle off the pill. It was 50 days long. I'm almost sure I ovulated on CD15 cycle 2 and alas it ended up being a 23 day cycle. I can't conceive with cycles like that. I was on microgynon for 12 years and then cerelle for a year. I really think my body will need a while to settle down.

Please don't get impatient yet, give it at least 6 months before you get upset about weird cycles. Let your body calm down. It might be that you haven't ovulated this cycle but that's normal coming off the pill. X

Blame the pill. It took nearly a year for my cycles to regulate. I don't have cfs but I do have hypermobility syndrome and with that comes fatigue. My flare ups come when I am ovulating and before my period. Both are hormonal causes.

Just because you've got a positive opk, doesn't mean you are ovulating properly. I had positive opks but GP day 21 progesterone tests showed my eggs weren't mature enough to catch. I used clomid in the end to conceive.

My fertility specialist suggested having sex every other day through the two middle weeks. If you're only just starting to TTC, don't give it too much thought because you will be end up on your knees in a few months.

Sorry guys massive overreaction on my part positive opk today which is a relief.

Am still worried about the effect my changing hormone levels appear to be having on my cfs but I guess watch this space for me to understand if things settle going forward! Fingers crossed Smile
