Yet again we've managed to exchange nearly 1000 posts swapping our tales of peeing on sticks, dancing for babies, trying to stop Auntie Flo's all too frequent visits, and sometimes, just sometimes, of Big Fat Positives! So let's begin thread five with some updated stats. Me first...

Ah Eva sorry about your BFN and no AF 🙁 I just tested and got a BFN as well, no AF but feels like it's very close to arriving. BAH.

Eva30 · 14/01/2017 08:19

Ahh sorry for your bfn too pjs ☹️ Enjoy your F it day though, especially the pub at the end of the walk!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 14/01/2017 10:09

Ooh, lots of action on this thread since I last looked! Sorry to those who AF has got, and to pjs and eva for the BFNs.

Lovely to hear from you, moonlight - congratulations on your little boy!

Sorry for the bfns pjs and eva. Like the old phrase goes your not out till af arrives.

Aww congratulations on the little boy mojitos. Can't believe you are already half way through your pregnancy.

Kaydee2017 · 14/01/2017 12:38

Just posting a quick Flowers for pjs & Eva!!

Hope your fuck it day is amazing pjs Wine

DancingUnicorn · 14/01/2017 12:47

Hi... I'm hoping I can join you. I'm a complete newbie to ttc, currently cd9 in my first month.

Sorry to those with bfns today. :(

bassetmum · 14/01/2017 18:14

Hi unicorn. Welcome to our thread. Hopefully we can be of help for you in this journey.

Well my promise of definitely not symptom spotting this month has failed. Really crampy today and I am 9dpo. Why do we do this to ourselves

Kaydee2017 · 14/01/2017 18:21

Flowers Bassett, I think someone else already said, but it's so hard when pregnancy & AF symptoms are so much the same!!

Mumh3art16 · 14/01/2017 19:59

I've got a positive opk 6 days before my af does anyone knows what this could mean

Pyjamas81 · 14/01/2017 21:45

Well AF kicked in and it felt like the pic below for the first part of our hike, but then the Anadin did its stuff and I was fine and we had a lovely day 🙂 Finished off with a few of our favourite beers at a pub we've wanted to visit for a while. It was a great distraction 🙂. I think I'm ok, still feel a bit blue about it all, but I guess that's normal.

The line isn't quite as dark as the control line mumh, so it's a negative - we always have varying levels of LH in our system and can even get a second surge just before AF (I did once) - I still have my fx for you though!

Ah basset - it can't be helped, I swear to myself that I won't symptom spot every TWW, then AF throws a new symptom at me and I'm inspecting pink CM on big roll and googling the shit out of it every damn five minutes like a madwoman. I really hope this is your month though!

Welcome unicorn!

Congrats on the boy mojitos. So jealous you've found out -
We decided to have a surprise but I'm fining it hard work being patient! I think it's a boy though!

Sorry you're having a tough time PJs and Eva I really hope that this one is the cycle you both get BFPs - you deserve it!

Nothing to report here - feeling pretty good and wondering if the baby is actually in there or if I'm just a fraud. As mojitos said -
Always something to worry about!

Piehunter · 15/01/2017 00:02

Oh Eva and pj's 😔 sorry for bfn/AF. It's so due to be your turns! How our bodies mess with us...!

Eva30 · 15/01/2017 08:31

Thanks all
I woke up to blazing AF today, in agony with cramps 😫 Does anyone know, is it safe to use a hot water bottle when TTC?
So it was a 32 day cycle. Some may remember, I took pregnacare in July but stopped as it gave me a 32 day cycle in Aug. Well I started taking it again in Nov so it looks like it makes my cycles longer (longer literal phases to give chance for egg to implant apparently) so that explains it. I'm going to persevere with pregnacare for now.

seahawk lovely to hear from you and glad it's all going well!

mumh I had the exact same thing last week (a few pages back on here)

pjs your day with DH yesterday sounds perfect (except for the b**tard cramps)

Welcome to the madness unicorn

Eva30 · 15/01/2017 08:32

That should say luteal phase

bassetmum · 15/01/2017 08:34

O sorry pjs and eva. Sounds like your day was amazing pjs. I would have thought being on af would mean a hot water bottle would be fine.

I bought some bedtime tea yesterday and completely forgot to have some. I'm knackered today with a sore shoulder and stonking headache Sad just going to hope paracetamol will work.

Pyjamas81 · 15/01/2017 09:01

Sorry for AF Eva 💐** Take care of yourself today and I think a hot water bottle is perfectly fine. It will be our turn soon, it must be!

Blissfulignorance · 15/01/2017 10:51

Morning ladies

So sorry for the BFNs and AFs 🍾🍷🍫

Mojitos lovely news that you're having a boy! Congratulations

Seahawk I also think it's lovely that people still wait. If and when we finally get upduffed DH and I have said that we'd probably want to wait and have him tell me at the birth.

Congratulations stepmum!

Eva I always use a hot water bottle when af is in the house! It's a must for me. I'm sure it's absolutely safe.

Pj I'm quite jealous of you pub crawl, af showed up when I had 3 12 hour shifts back to back.

Welcome to all the newbies, come join the fun.

Where has Kirsty gone?? Are you still with us?

So af has nearly left for me. Yesterday I had a few twinges in what felt like the location of my right ovary?
I'm also due to have my smear but haven't had my appointment letter yet. I wanted to do it this week before I start my FW. Unfortunately I lost a friend my age on Boxing Day to cervical cancer so really keen to have it done. Has anyone booked in before they've been invited??

One more week at work then a week off before starting to new job! Perfect distraction for the 2ww

bassetmum · 15/01/2017 11:29

Hi bliss no I havent booked before my smear invitation letter but if you are due one I cant see why they wouldnt let you.

Well I think af is going to make an early appearance for me this month. My headache is still horrific and it feels exactly like it does the day before af arrives but she would be mega early this month as shes not due till Friday.

passmethewine123 · 15/01/2017 11:51

Hi, can I join?! New to all this! (Have just copied and pasted this from another thread I posted in, hope that's ok!)

Wine
TTC #1
Cycle 1
CD 20

This is our first month trying. Unfortunately haven't been tracking my periods for the last few months so unsure when to expect AF. My cycles tend to vary from 26-33 days although I probably do have quite a few 28 day.

FF put my OD as Monday (9th) however I haven't had clear symptoms or been doing BBT or OPK's so when it actually happened is anyone's guess. Monday I did have sharp pains on one side so that would concur however I had small amounts of EWCM from Monday through to Friday. Friday I was really bloated and that was the day my CM changed to white/creamy...sorry TMI!

I was convinced I would be so cool and laid back about this but I couldn't have been more wrong. Absolutely obsessed with my imaginary symptoms! Which so far include basically nothing obvious. My nipples felt ever so slightly tingly last night and looking at them this morning I think I might be able to see some very slight changes in them but I think I am prob imagining it. CP is medium-high wet and soft, CM is white and creamy...sorry TMI again! Have been getting lots of hot flushes since Monday, and had a mild on off headache. I can't believe how much this has taken over my life in the last 2 weeks!!

AF could be due at the earliest on the 21st and at the latest around the 28th so I have no idea when to think about testing! I don't get many obvious PMS symptoms apart from tender boobs which then subside a day or two before AF comes.

Fingers crossed for all of you in the 2WW

kiwi17 · 15/01/2017 13:06

Welcome new people :) I'm on CD14 here, as I don't have a clue what my cycle length should be ( last month was 36 but before that it was 24/25) its all a bit of a stab in the dark but took an opk yesterday and nothing yet! Sorry for AFs :( for the smear test I got a letter in Jan even though I wasn't 25 til May and they did mine in Jan so I don't think it matters..

JeNeBaguetteRien · 15/01/2017 17:04

Welcome to the newbies...I'm an oldie who hasn't posted much lately.
CD27 here and I think AF is here the cow (usually 30/31 day cycle). She came early last month too just so I had no hope of a Christmas day BFP and had to travel to visit family with horrible AF cramps.
I don't know if it's coincidence that AF is early again but I've been taking the Boots conception vitamins for the last few weeks as they were out of Pregnacare when I last stocked up.
I had actually got some of the pregnacare pregnancy vitamins which I think will go out of date before I get a BFP. Sorry for the moan, I'm being a bit melodramatic. I also passed up on delicious food on Friday in case I was PG so am going to stuff myself with salami this week.

My GP is repeating blood tests as the 21 day test score in November was not definite (24.9 - they said over 30 is a definite ovulation). The GP has referred us to NHS fertility services but strongly advised that we should go private due to waiting times and better outcomes at my age (36). I appreciate his honesty. He's been good at sending DH and me for tests, but is not an expert in interpreting the reuslts. I'd like the reassurance of a dedicated fertility service so will get the ball rolling this week.

I'm going to copy PJs and have a fuck it day, suggestions are welcome as long as they're not too strenuous :-)

Sorry for the others having AF and baby dust to all.

Kaydee2017 · 15/01/2017 17:40

JeNe fx you're not out, but a moan is definitely ok, I think it's so good we all have a safe place to vent our frustrations!

Hi pass! I'm a few weeks in front of you, and had the same thing exactly, trying to be "relaxed" but not doing very well! Not symptom spotting as such, but just anxious for something to happen!! Have been much more relaxed since AF arrived as it's the first one post pill, so feeling relieved something has actually happened, and vowing to keep up the attitude into FW!!

Fx you're not out too basset!!

Eva I also use a HW bottle, I don't think I could get through AF without one & may cry if i find out it's not ok to use Sad

So sorry about your friend bliss Flowers** i had my first before I was 25, but I did get the letter first! Just got my letter through for my second (coming up 28 this year), so need to make an appt for that! Does anyone know if you can have it any time during your cycle? Or is there a preferred time??

Hope you enjoyed your day yesterday pyjamas & that AF makes a swift exit for you!!

Pyjamas81 · 15/01/2017 17:51

Hello baguette! Lovely (and not, if you know what I mean!) to see you again ☺️ Moan away! If I couldn't moan here, I'd have gone nuts by now! Great that your GP is good, but understand that you want to see a specialist. I'm off to my HSG test this week - glorious.

Thoroughly recommend a fuck it day - took my mind off another failed cycle yesterday. We went hiking then to the pub yesterday - it was a monster muddy hike and felt great to have achieved something (anything) at the end of it. We've got a gin festival lined up for next month and skiing lesson day - feel free to steal ideas!

I've been a bit weepy today - cried when I got off the phone to my mum, cried at Eastenders, cried while I was cooking and one of our songs to our wedding video came on. I hardly ever cry - this coming on to 8th cycle business has really got to me.

Hello wine! Oh god, I remember the first cycle well - I even had nausea. It's amazing the tricks the mind plays on us in the TWW - never trust the boobs!

Hope AF stays away basset and exciting new job times ahead for you blissful!

DancingUnicorn · 15/01/2017 17:58

Thanks everyone for the welcome! It's really nice to have somewhere to openly talk about it with driving my oh insane. Not told anyone else we're trying. Had three people ask when we're having kids since the new year... (including an ex I rarely speak to, which was odd!)

Does anyone get ovulation pain? I'm trying to figure out if that's what I'm feeling or if I'm just imagining things!!

bassetmum · 15/01/2017 18:55

Unicorn i get ovulation pain its quite obvious that is what it is.

Pjs that sounds fab.

If this isn't the place to moan and vent frustrations I'd have gone nuts by now.
