Clomid takers - what day do you ovulate?

I finished my first course of clomid a few days ago and now I'm waiting to ovulate. I'm just wondering if anyone else who has taken clomid can share what day they ovulate/d on it please? I'm on day 10 now and the OPKs are showing nothing. Thanks

Hi Pink,

I have had two cycles of Clomid so far, my first cycle I didn't track. My second cycle I used Clearblue dual opks which showed I ovulated around day 18/19 my cycles are generally around 32+

I hope this helps a little.

I have seen other threads where people have said you shouldn't use opks whilst on Clomid because the Clomid gives off too much LH. However I had a blank smiley on day 12 followed by 5 flashing then finally got the solid smiley. How accurate it is I am unsure but seemed to be pretty accurate.

Good luck xxx

Mine have varied. Around cd14 the first time, cd17 the second time. I start my last round of clomid tonight so who knows what this time will bring!

Pinkandwhite · 03/12/2016 17:21

Thanks ladies, I have just gotten a very faint line on an OPK so we'll see what happens over the next few days. I don't have a digital OPK but I might buy one... Fingers crossed for all of us! X

About day 18 here x

AmyC86 · 03/12/2016 18:39

I've had clomid and a folicale but never ovulated

MmmMalbec · 04/12/2016 06:02

First round here and due ovulate today which is cd17. I've been having tracking scans all week. I think it totally depends on what your cycle is like naturally, your dose and what days you take it on!

user1471481356 · 04/12/2016 06:11

Firs round round was CD14, second round was CD16.

Are you having a follicle scan on CD12? Because that can often show if you're close to ovulation

mistletoeprickles · 05/12/2016 07:04

Day 17 for me too, I had one month where it was day 14 for some reason.

Pinkandwhite · 06/12/2016 02:16

Thanks for the replies - so helpful to know what happens for other people.

I'm not getting a scan unfortunately. The doctor didn't think it was necessary...

FluffyEwok · 06/12/2016 09:16

Ive never been scanned just progesterone levels.
My last level was 100 but no bfp

MmmMalbec · 06/12/2016 11:17

I had scans every other day until they confirmed the egg had gone. I'm having two blood tests to confirm progesterone levels too. But if my progesterone is ok and I don't get pregnant then I'm on my own for a couple of months then just taking it as normal.

mistletoeprickles · 06/12/2016 14:41

I think it varies hugely on which nhs trust you fall under and which doctor.

My first one was monitored to make sure the dose worked (it didnt) so I went up to 100mg (again no ovulation) so upto 150g, I was scanned every other day for just under a week and we know ovulation occurred.
I'm now 12 cycles in (1 miscarriage and 1 chemical during this time) and I'm happy to be left alone, obviously this is my choice and not everyone feels like this.

I've got used to ovulation symptoms so I can be pretty sure when it happens.

This is our last cycle of clomid so I have everything crossed!

Pinkandwhite · 06/12/2016 15:16

Oh mistletoe, I'm so sorry for your loses. I have had one miscarriage and one chemical pregnancy in the last six months as well. I really, really hope you get your sticky BFP this month.

I've done 7 cycles of clomid and I ovulated between CD17 and CD24 on each cycle. I highly recommend tracking scans, if they won't offer you them you can get them privately, well worth knowing if it is working for you or not. I also used opks and temped to confirm ov. I used the cheap opks and they worked fine for me, they did pre clomid too as I don't have particularly elevated levels of LH like some PCOS ladies do.

MmmMalbec · 06/12/2016 15:57

So sorry to hear all the losses.

I thought 6 was the maximum number of cycles you can do on clomid?

FluffyEwok · 06/12/2016 16:11

Unicorn what was your Lh? Mine was 14 not sure if thats really high. Iv got 7 rounds too x

mistletoeprickles · 06/12/2016 16:24

mmm clomid is only licenced for 6 months owing to there being very little long term research.
My situation is I have a living child, my partner does not. This limits what we can have on the nhs. We had an extra 6 months but at my own risk because there are no other options without going private

FluffyEwok · 06/12/2016 18:55

I think my consultant gave me an extra month by mistake! Mistletoe would you then go private? X

mistletoeprickles · 06/12/2016 20:59

fluffy our next option is private IVF yes.

Whether we will or not I don't know, there's a lot to think about and I suppose there's still the chance of conceiving naturally.

DD was a natural surprise conception so anything is possibly.

I look at things positively and just hope it doesn't get to that point.

I still have everything crossed for this cycle and I'm not out until the fat lady sings Grin

mistletoeprickles · 07/12/2016 15:16

Well this morning I got my BFP, Just hoping it's a sticky one now Grin

MmmMalbec · 07/12/2016 15:46

Amazing mistletoe! Congratulations and I hope it all works out for you Smile

Pinkandwhite · 07/12/2016 15:58

Oh that's fantastic mistletoe! Congratulations! I hope this is a sticky August 2017 baby! Xx

Hmmm so private tracking scans sound look a good idea for next time (obviously I'm hoping there won't need to be a next time though).

SuperUnicorn · 07/12/2016 17:58

I think my LH was well under 10 but it is such a long time ago I can't quite remember, most of our testing was done years ago as we have had many delays during our treatment and my clinic were appalling at giving actual results, they tend to just say ok or needs attention.

I was given 9 cycles of clomid (I had a natural cycle between cycle 6 and 7) and we conceived on cycle 7. If I hadn't and we had done all nine cycles I had also been offered 3 cycles of letrozole before IVF. They generally only offer 6 cycles due to concerns that it thins your lining too much for implantation. I asked for more though as it was making my ovulate and was sure it would work for us in the end.

Congrats mistletoe!

FluffyEwok · 07/12/2016 20:13

Congrats mistletoe! Great news.
Im on 5 of 7 cycles have ovulated on the last two cycles so hopefully im in with a chance. If not we will privately fund ivf
