... Did you end up having a boy or a girl? And was that the only time you had sex or did you also do it in the run up to ov?

We had a boy. And it was a pretty isolated attempt as I had been away before that and we didn't attempt again that cycle. We tried to do it differently next time round and are having DS2 so - timings of dtd to achieve a certain sex are not exactly guaranteed!! Reckon DH is programmed for boys. Good luck.

1 of each!

DD was a 1 time event, DS was frequently beforehand!

When women have IUI to conceive it is timed to coincide The insemination on the same day as ovulation. There is a higher incidence of boys conceived as a result of this method but plenty of women go on to have girls too. I can't remember the exact stats.

I know this isn't exactly what you're asking but it's kind of relevant. Smile

I had sex a couple of days before ovulation and then not again (as DH was away for work). We had a boy. Again not quite what you're asking but relevant I think!

Actually it looks like the idea that more boys than girls are born with IUI might be a myth having just googled for stats. It's inconclusive anyway!

Hmmm all very interesting. Sounds like the shettles method is a load of shite then!!

Shettles method has indeed been disproven. I think it's all luck!

I'm pretty sure that my three sons were all conceived on the day I ovulated.
