Hi I have been using clear blue advanced ovulation tests for the past 3 months. Last month I started testing from day 14 and got a flashing face everyday until I got my period. No static faces. I then thought I'd missed it so I started testing this month from day 8 I got the 0 until day 13 I got a flashing face and had pains in my right side. Ofcourse I ran out of sticks and have been using the plain dip ones with the 2 lines. I still havnt had 2 dark lines and it's day 18. I downloaded the ovia app which told me my best ovulation day was yesterday day 17 but I'm still not getting a positive reading on the ovulation sticks. I also have only ever noticed ovulation pain on my right side. Has anyone else ever had any of these problems?

You use the clear blue from early on in your cycle as it monitors your personal levels. If you've got a flashing face then you're close to ovulation. The solid face may not come unless you are testing several times a day. It is picking up on your luteinising hormone surge. This surge can be very short lived, sometimes just a few hours, and it happens up to 3 days before you actually ovulate.
By the time you started using the dip sticks your surge will have gone. You've most likely already ovulated, but you couldn't know that for sure without blood tests or taking your basel body temperature.
Just fyi, the clear blue monitor is done with your first wee of the day. The other tests are done much later in the say, they say between 11am-3pm is best.
