Can you ovulate from both ovaries?

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help, im a bit confused.
I had unprotected sex and then 2 days later felt mild cramping on my left side which I think was ovulation.
But then 2 days after that I had more cramping pain but worse and only on my right side.
Is it possible I have ovulated from both sides?

I think so. Isn't that what creates non identical twins? (Disclaimer- I may or may not have made that up)

Yes you can Kenworthington is correct, ovulating on both sides results in no identical twins

Thank you, at least I know it's possible.
It hasn't happened before, usually it's just the one side.
Two of my sisters are non identical twins so maybe that makes me more likely to have them too.

I think I do every other month because one month it's ok next month it's awful! History of twins and I'm a twin. Can't think of anything reason why I'd have much heavier flow every other!
