Welcome to our third thread on PCOS. What we don't know isn't really worth knowing. We're a friendly bunch of women who have a few things in common. We all have either PCOS or unexplained infertility and we're all on a mission for a BFP!!!!

For new members, and old alike here are the links to our 1st and 2nd threads:

Hi Kitty, just to add, I have only taken provera once, but I don't think I noticed any side effects really. Hope things work out for you.

SLady · 24/02/2017 12:51

That makes sense satsooma thanks! You're right I have my blood test forms and it doesn't test for progesterone so probably wouldn't make a difference. Ooh I can't make up my mind now. Ive waited 50 days so part of me thinks just wait it out. My inositol came today so definitely going to get cracking with that!!

SummerHopin · 24/02/2017 17:39

What brand of inositol are you on slady? I'm still considering getting some.

Metformin seems to be agreeing with me actually. I've been in it for a good 2-3 months now and so far I've had a natural period and I've lost about 8lb so my BMI has dropped.

Let me know how you go with it though I'm v interested!

NeverGoOutOfStyle · 24/02/2017 18:44

Phoned the hospital today to find out what was happening with them arranging a glucose tolerance test so I could go on metformin and they are apparently running 2 months behind. My GP hasn't received a letter yet or anything. All I want is to go back on metformin, I've been prescribed it before so I don't know why I can't just go back on it! So frustrated.

SLady · 24/02/2017 20:06

I bought the jarrow one from amazon summer I'm starting tonight so I will let you know how I get on! Glad to hear metformin is working for you.

I feel you never the wait is so frustrating isn't it!! Angry

satsoooma · 26/02/2017 10:04

Feeling pretty down today after meeting relatives' baby. I guess I thought they would at least seem shattered, or like they were struggling a bit. But they seemed totally happy, relaxed and besotted. The baby didn't even cry the whole time I was there! I feel like such a bitch for being upset that they are doing well.

Currently 10 dpo. I had some weird, very localized pains and cramps last week, which seemed promising. But now, I feel like I have more all-over cramping, like AF is getting ready to show (due Thursday).

satsoooma · 27/02/2017 08:34

Gosh, it is quiet around here! Hope it is because you all had fun, action-packed weekends Smile

YouBoggleMyMind · 27/02/2017 10:44

I don't really have anything to report. Bfn since 10dpo, today 13dpo and not thinking anything exciting is happening. Though last night my nips were SO sore. Seems to have gone today. When are you testing satsooma? Sorry you found yesterday hard. Hugs xxx

YouBoggleMyMind · 27/02/2017 10:46

I haven't tested today.

satsoooma · 27/02/2017 11:02

Thanks Boggle. I am feeling much better today. I'm not sure when I am going to test, later this week, maybe the weekend. I'm beginning to feel like testing is bad luck somehow.

YouBoggleMyMind · 27/02/2017 11:10

Fair play, it's just one big disheartening moment when not even a squinted appears... I am going on nothing though as I don't know if I ovulated. Just going by what my app is telling me.

satsoooma · 27/02/2017 11:44

Sorry everythign is so uncertain for you right now Boggle. Sending you positive vibes.

YouBoggleMyMind · 27/02/2017 13:13

Thanks, will start provera again in a week if AF doesn't come on her own and crack on with my last cycle of clomid.

FluffyEwok · 27/02/2017 20:23

Hello all. Boggle for some reason i didnt come on after my last round of clomid and had to take provera.
Ive had my IVF appt. Ive got a drug appt on 20th March to start the process. She said im really high risk of OHSS

YouBoggleMyMind · 27/02/2017 20:28

I've had a break from clomid Fluffy so not expecting AF to appear on her own.
They will monitor you and adjust your stimms so hopefully OHSS won't happen. Positive thoughts Fluffy.

FluffyEwok · 27/02/2017 20:46

Sorry boggle i misunderstoodConfused. They said if i get ohss theyll delay egg transfer by 3 months which i really dont want! Im feeling Blush really and panicking about work

YouBoggleMyMind · 27/02/2017 20:54

No worries bean.

Fluffy, you have got to look after yourself and take one day at a time. Don't look at the negatives. This procedure will happen and could give you your baby! That's so exciting! Fluffybaby!

NeverGoOutOfStyle · 28/02/2017 22:27

Today was supposed to be my due date, to I feel really really raw today. This whole process is getting me down, I guess I just see it as such a long road ahead that might never actually end well, so I'm feeling so so down.

How is everyone? it's been quiet for a few days hasn't it.

YouBoggleMyMind · 01/03/2017 09:13

Hugs never, can't imagine how rubbish you feel. Look after yourself.

Nothing to report here. Negative tests and no sign of AF. Will prolly start provera next week to use my last round of clomid. I don't really care much about it though. Having this break has been so great for my mental state. Got another counselling session this evening. I was also recommended to go and see a homeopath. Has anyone done this?

Has anyone seen Amy recently?

SummerHopin · 01/03/2017 10:51

Hi ladies.

Never sorry to hear you're having a rough time. I'm terrible for always thinking 'what if' and wondering how life might be different and I've never even had a BFP so imagine that it must be so tough knowing an actual due date. I'm afraid I dont have any words of wisdom on it either - only hugs xx

SummerHopin · 01/03/2017 10:58

I had my HyCySy yesterday and all in all it was successful I think. The sensation is so hard to describe - it wasnt painful as such just really weird as you are literally being filled with fluid in places you dont normally get feelings! Nothing to worry about though anyone who is having one soon.

Anyway, the test showed the dye flowing freely down both tubes so the doc said that it was a really good sign. My ovaries did have multiple follicles on them but there was no sign of any huge cysts that would be troublesome (or none that they could see anyway).

The only note was that my womb sat at a completely different angle to normal. I was probably a bit niaive expecting it to be shaped like the "triangle with horns" diagrams you see in the books, but basically it is supposed to sit at a certain angle but mine chooses to sit at a different angle! It was difficult to make out the pictures on the screen but the doctor said it was totally fine - just all part of how we are built and everyone is different.

Am feeling relieved that the scan showed no further problems. She feels that we would respond well to stimulation and so that is the next step. Timings are just a little unknown at the moment as our NHS referral has come through so we need to hang back a bit and jump through those hoops so that we will then not have to pay for anything from now on.

So Clomid here we come I guess! :)

satsoooma · 01/03/2017 11:42

Sorry to hear you are feeling down Never. Take care of yourself. I like to have special treats (foods, a movie I am excited for etc.) which I save up for upsetting days, like when AF arrives. Takes my mind off things.

The HyCoSy sounds weird Summer. Glad you got good news. Once you get to a fertility clinic, you should be able to get moving really quickly. I think I started clomid almost the next day!

Best of luck for your first IVF round Fluffy. I know what OHSS is, but don't understand how it is an issue for IVF?

Really glad to hear that you thought the time out helped Boggle. Gonna cross my fingers extra tight for your last clomid round. Re: homeopathy. I think it is nonsense, taking advantage of vulnerable people who have reason to be anxious about their health. But if it makes you feel better about things, I suppose that is a good thing.

I am CD30 and 13dpo. Not got any obvious symptoms of either pregnancy, or impending AF, which is annoying. Still holding off testing for a few more days, as DH is not around much for the next few days. It is on my mind 90% of the time though.

FluffyEwok · 01/03/2017 19:41

Hello satsoma hope you get your bfp this month. Ohss causes your body not to be ready for the embryo to be inserted so means treatment needs to be delayed.
My appt is on 20th March but I think I'm ovulating now should I ttc this month or wait for ivf?

YouBoggleMyMind · 01/03/2017 19:44

Fluffy go go go!

YouBoggleMyMind · 01/03/2017 19:45

Get pregnant naturally and then no worries about ohss! Good luck bean!
