Welcome to our third thread on PCOS. What we don't know isn't really worth knowing. We're a friendly bunch of women who have a few things in common. We all have either PCOS or unexplained infertility and we're all on a mission for a BFP!!!!

For new members, and old alike here are the links to our 1st and 2nd threads:

Now without further ado, let's continue on our journey.......

Thanks rufus I might consider it as an option if I don't get anywhere soon. My patience levels are dwindling by the day!!
Doh! Doesn't give you much hope does it! [Hmm]

YouBoggleMyMind · 09/02/2017 08:10

Never happened to me before so it's a bit odd. Guess it's my body just clearing out a bit still.

FluffyEwok · 09/02/2017 08:33

Hello all. I was thinking about ivf and how it can affect baby and mums health ie evidence of poorer health for child and cancer risk for woman. Im wondering if i should try a bit longer before going down that route or should i just take whats offered?

SLady · 09/02/2017 09:16

Hi fluffy personally, I wouldn't worry too much. The contraceptive pill I took gave me an increased risk of breast cancer but then reduced risks of cervical cancer. I think with everything we do now there are always risks. Pregnancy also comes with its own risks anyway. We could worry so much about everything. I personally wouldn't let that hold me back. But you have to do what's right for you

Rufus200 · 09/02/2017 10:04

fluffy there is also a link between Clomid and ovarian cancer and birth defects. They don't know if the increased birth defects is because of infertility in the mother or if it is the Clomid. DS1 has spina bifidia occulta, which is one of the milder birth defects linked to Clomid. He has what looks like a tail under his skin at the top of his bottom. It is just cosmetic and doesn't affect him. While I would rather he didn't have it, at the same time I am very grateful to have him and if that is what happens with Clomid to allow me to have a child then I accept that.

I'm in the 2WW now, forgot how long it drags on for. At least at the beginning of a cycle you are focused on ovulation.
Had lots of discomfort on both sides but no definitive ovulation pain, may not have ovulated at all. Really wish I had had a scan later and known what was going on in there. Wish there was a home ultrasound you could just have a quick look at what is going on.

Does anyone else get loads of continued ovary pain in the 2WW?

SLady · 09/02/2017 10:22

Yes I get all sorts of cramping pains in the second half of my cycle rufus. It really worried me at first as I never had anything like it whilst I was on the pill. I've given up trying to work out what it all means now though!

NeverGoOutOfStyle · 09/02/2017 13:28

Spotting today, expect AF in full swing tomorrow. Seems were back to a 30 something day cycle. I do feel like AF should have had the decency to stay away though since I have the flu and feel rotten enough as it is.

FluffyEwok · 09/02/2017 14:07

Got a letter from hospital saying we meet criteria for two ivf cycles. Advised the booking team will be in touch. Does that mean weve got funding??

YouBoggleMyMind · 09/02/2017 14:27

Looks that way fluffy!

FluffyEwok · 09/02/2017 14:33

That was quick. I dont know whether to do the last round of clomid or not bother

SLady · 09/02/2017 20:32

Good news fluffy can you do the last round of Clomid while you wait for your appt?

Rufus200 · 09/02/2017 20:47

fluffy that depends on how long you have to wait for your appointment. If it is going to be 3 months then use the Clomid. If it will be next month then I wouldn't as it may affect their protocol if they need to suppress your ovaries

I'm feeling quite upset tonight about TTC. I got sent an invoice for my follicle scan. My Dr never charged me for them previously, I just thought they were part of the pregnancy package. I'm pissed off that I couldn't go to a 2nd scan and see if I actually had a follicle or not. I may not of ovulated at all. We were too sick to DTD on ovulation day so only start of LH surge was covered.
I just feel it was such a wasted cycle and wasted money now. I asked DH before I took the Clomid was he sure he didn't want a break, I just had a gut feeling not to do it. I'm kicking myself now for not going with that. I only get 6 Clomid cycles and that is 3 now used. So if I'm not on the right dosage and I waste my 4th one I'm going to be really upset. Why can't my stupid ovaries just work. No point to this just writing down my feelings.

FluffyEwok · 09/02/2017 21:38

Rufus its shit isnt it? I didnt get scanned on clomid. Im going to start my last round and get it over with lol

SLady · 09/02/2017 23:09

Sending you love rufus xx Flowers

imsuchafool12345 · 10/02/2017 00:20

Hey ladies. I dont know if I'm on the right thread. A little about me; I have pcos and lucky to have a little boy that took nearly a year to conceive. Hes now 13 months old and a little monster. My periods are never the same but i was on the hormonal patches to regulate them. After a long talk me and my partner said for me to come off them (I was constantly moody. I could suddenly lash out or go like a crazy lady) we also said if I get pregnant again (we not using protection now) we will be over the moon.

So what I'm trying to find out is, ladies with pcos how long after dtd did you take a test?

I'd like to add since coming off my patches nearly 3 months ago I've only had one period and it was very light. I thought I might be pregnant as I had a weird period but all came back negative.

SummerHopin · 10/02/2017 18:29

Fluffy sorry if you've said this before but how many cycles of clomid have you had since the start? And is there a reason why you went straight to ivf and not anything else? Or was that your choice?

SummerHopin · 10/02/2017 18:31

Rufus sorry you are feeling blue. It's shit plain and simple. Hope you feel a bit better today x

Rufus200 · 10/02/2017 18:36

summer thank you I am. I found 7 Clomid tablets that are still in date from my cycles in 2015. I had 5 incase DS's cycle didn't work but I have no idea why I have 2 random tablets. So I've got another cycle and can up to 75mg on 4days if needed. If my Dr counts my prescriptions I will just say the pack was out of date so binned it.

FluffyEwok · 10/02/2017 20:28

Summer I'm starting my 7th and final clomid round. I'm on 150mg . Dr recommends ivf as my amh is so high (131) the risk of ohss is too high with injections. We've had a letter stating the ccg says we meet the criteria for ivf and the booking team will be in touch. I think we get sent a DVD and have to fill out some forms next

SummerHopin · 10/02/2017 20:32

That's really useful to know-my AMH was 140 so we would def be in same boat.
I'm waiting to have a HyCoSy privately in a few weeks before getting on with clomid. I had EWCM a couple of weeks ago and have had cramps this week (plus lots of diarrhoea sorry if tmi) so think AF might finally be coming naturally which would be amazing. I've not had a natural period since last September!

FluffyEwok · 10/02/2017 20:57

FluffyEwok · 10/02/2017 21:07
