Welcome to our third thread on PCOS. What we don't know isn't really worth knowing. We're a friendly bunch of women who have a few things in common. We all have either PCOS or unexplained infertility and we're all on a mission for a BFP!!!!

For new members, and old alike here are the links to our 1st and 2nd threads:

Now without further ado, let's continue on our journey.......

You should absolutely be able to get provera. They might be willing to get started on tests soon, especially given your age (that was what i was told Confused). Depends on your GP though. Just go in willing to argue for why you think you should be referred.

YouBoggleMyMind · 28/01/2017 21:19

Yes, I'm looking into counselling. Won't hear anything further about my bloods until Monday and that's if they come in. I'm still spotting. Cd30, 13dpo. Feeling crampy though so sure it won't be long until AF turns up xxx

pandarific · 28/01/2017 21:41

Oh gosh, my age?! This is the beginning of all that, isn't it? Grin Well, if they can refer me that'd be great.

satsoooma · 28/01/2017 22:00

I'd be interested to hear what you get offered re: counselling Boggle I'm thinking of getting some myself in a month or so.

Meanwhile I have still not seen any sign of AF. Think it is CD47 and 6 days since I finished provera. Trying to be patient ...

YouBoggleMyMind · 28/01/2017 22:21

I'm going to go privately as I don't want to wait. Will let you know how I get on.

Provera took 7-10 days to make AF show after finish it. Hope she's here soon so you can crack on.

SLady · 29/01/2017 00:51

Elly1685 I'm sorry you haven't had better news at your fertility appt. Hope you're feeling OK.

Summerhopin I have been thinking exactly the same this past week!! Can you get EWCM without ovulating? I dont do opk's either. I do get EWCM for a couple of days during a cycle but VERY rarely. One time AF showed exactly two weeks after so I assume I ovulated (although no BFP) and the other AF was 5 weeks after (still no BFP) so I assume I didn't. I think that your body can gear up to ovulate and therefore produce EWCM but perhaps ovulation might not quite happen due to hormones being all over the place. I think it's a very good thing though and you should DTD whenever you see it haha. I did actually have EWCM last week and I've been waiting to find the right time to do my CD21 blood tests so I'm going to do it next week and I guess we will find out the answer to this question then! Would be interested to hear if anyone else gets EWCM (what a weird thing to say haha). Anyway if you've got it summer then get DTD girl!

Iamchanging · 29/01/2017 08:53

I've never had a hint of any ewcm in over a year, but then I'm pretty certain that I'm not ovulating! I'll update you once I start Clomid!

SummerHopin · 29/01/2017 09:45

Changing in the same-the last time I remember having any amount of it was last May! It seems to still be around but not as much so am just jumping my poor DH at every opportunity!
Here's hoping it might be the metformin. I have also lost about 7lb since Christmas so hoping that it's maybe starting to work a bit more down there. If not it'll be clomid soon.

SummerHopin · 29/01/2017 09:49

Hey Ellie, sorry to hear of your news. I know it's awful, but the only thing that might bring some comfort to you is the fact that you now know what is going on. In a way it is a good thing they want you to straight for ivf as it could have been a long and painful road trying drug after drug only to then find out they never would have worked anyway? This is the thing I am most concerned about-being on clomid or the like for months and months only to find there is a reason why they never would have worked. It's why I am possibly looking at a lap and dye earlier rather than later. But everyone is different.

I would say have a cry, and a sulk, and a rest, then see how you feel after. It really is a strain on the emotions isn't it :( sending hugs x

SummerHopin · 29/01/2017 09:52

Thanks SLady, good luck for your day 21 test. Good idea booking it based on how you feel. My clinic made me do it ON day 21 after a provera induced period even though I said my cycles were super long, so funnily
Enough it showed a really low result. It was a bit pointless really, the only good thing was that it was a tick of another box on the referral form.
Good luck.

SLady · 29/01/2017 10:12

I wasn't offered provera just given the BT forms and told to get on with it as and when. Yes its totally guess work but it wasn't as though I could hurry it along by testing earlier as I need CD 2-5 anyway so I thought id try as guess my "CD21" - I usually get AF symptoms a week before so I was going to go by this if I didn't get EWCM. I'll keep you updated

SLady · 30/01/2017 09:07

I had my ultrasound this morning and had the loveliest sonographer! Even though I had drunk the 1 litre my bladder was empty Shock (apparently this can happen first thing in the morning as you might be dehydrated) so I had an internal scan which was alot more comfortable tbh. She even went through the pictures with me and showed me my poly ovaries which was crazy to see. She was so reassuring too so I am feeling positive. Although nervous about DH SA on Wednesday!

YouBoggleMyMind · 30/01/2017 09:14

Glad you had a positive experience SLady! What's next?

SLady · 30/01/2017 09:34

Sonographer said it looked as though I was over half way in my cycle so CD21 this week along with DH SA and then we wait for AF to arrive for last blood test. I just really want my referral now so I know the next steps. She said the treatment varies depending on whose care you're under which is worrying.

What about you boggle, how are you getting on?

YouBoggleMyMind · 30/01/2017 09:44

I am 15dpo, cd32. Crampy but no AF. She is due today. Spotting seems to have stopped... though I am a frequent knicker checker... haha

YouBoggleMyMind · 30/01/2017 09:57

Spoke too soon. Seems AF is here.

SLady · 30/01/2017 10:14

Sorry to hear she's made an appearance boggle Sad

Iamchanging · 30/01/2017 10:30

So sorry to hear that Boggle. Thinking of you

YouBoggleMyMind · 30/01/2017 10:33

It was wishful thinking that she wouldn't.

Will be taking a break.

satsoooma · 30/01/2017 10:35

Oh Boggle, I am so sorry to hear that! Flowers

satsoooma · 30/01/2017 10:54

Taking a break sounds like an excellent idea. It is easy to forget to look after yourself with all this medical stuff going on. xx

YouBoggleMyMind · 30/01/2017 11:05

I just can't do this anymore.

SummerHopin · 30/01/2017 12:20

Boggle I am so sorry Hun, I really was routing for you.
You're so right, take a break. You need it. Think about counselling too - I am and it is helping me as I am someone who needs to share things, so having to keep these things secret really messes with my head.
Look after yourself. Does your OH know about AF? You need some tlc now xx hugs mate xx

YouBoggleMyMind · 30/01/2017 14:07

Just to make matters worse, they received my blood test results and I did ovulate. So we must have missed it.

satsoooma · 30/01/2017 14:16

Oh man, that must be frustrating for you! I can see why it makes you feel worse at the moment, but it really is good news for the future.

Are you able to take an actual holiday or something as part of this break? It is so easy to let this TTC malarkey overshadow all the other good stuff that we have going on in our lives.
