Welcome to our third thread on PCOS. What we don't know isn't really worth knowing. We're a friendly bunch of women who have a few things in common. We all have either PCOS or unexplained infertility and we're all on a mission for a BFP!!!!

For new members, and old alike here are the links to our 1st and 2nd threads:

Iamchanging I'm so glad to hear your nurse was lovely, I don't know what had her back up so much at my scan on Friday. It's made me feel pretty nervous for the actual appointment next Monday since I was worried about being fobbed off with 'oh you're so young, it'll happen, it'll be fine' but now I feel like that is definitely what is going to happen. If I'm not ovulating it obviously isn't going to happen, it won't be just fine will it!

Elly1685 · 22/01/2017 12:19

Changing, I am an optimistic person (most of the time Wink ) I went to my doctors in august about ttc and he said come back in a year, when I explained that I'd already been told I would have difficulty in ttc several years earlier and wanted to be referred he reluctantly did so! It's worth a try - maybe they will listen! I guess it depends who you see...!

I hope you're appt goes well next Monday Style, they can't fob you off with age, that's just not fair. How long have you been TTC? X

SLady · 22/01/2017 20:48

Oh wow how exciting for you both changing elly1685... I can't wait to get things moving...so looking forward to getting an appt with the FC!

SLady · 23/01/2017 07:46

I second that changing. I only had bloods and ultrasound done 8/9 months ago and I STILL need to have them done again before I'll be referred!! Just incase my ovaries have magically cured themselves in the meantime I suppose Hmm

YouBoggleMyMind · 23/01/2017 08:14

Progesterone blood test done. Now we wait.

SummerHopin · 23/01/2017 15:31

I had a weird one today.....
My referral couldn't be completed because my rubella might be out of date!

Might be!

So I've got to have another blood test to check my rubella status!!!

Iamchanging · 23/01/2017 18:13

Hi Summer, I had the same thing with the rubella. And then I had to go back AGAIN as they only took on vial of blood and needed two Angry

SummerHopin · 23/01/2017 19:16

Ooh really changing? That's useful I might check when I go to make sure that They take enough.

Feeling a bit rubbish today. Got another yeast infection and can't understand it! It puts a right downer on DTD obviously and makes me feel really shitty Sad

Sometimes I really wish someone would give me a break you know?

YouBoggleMyMind · 23/01/2017 21:51

Sorry you're feeling crap summer, I totally understand. I just seem to be having a constant dodgy tummy at the minute. Can't seem to enjoy any food without bad consequences!

Iamchanging · 23/01/2017 22:25

Do you think that's the Metformin boggle? It did exactly the same to me, and it lasted for another two years on and off even once I stopped it Confused

YouBoggleMyMind · 24/01/2017 09:26

I don't know if it's the metformin or not. I've been taking it ok for awhile so I don't know why it would suddenly play up.

SummerHopin · 24/01/2017 13:40

Have you had any more signs of anything boggle?

YouBoggleMyMind · 24/01/2017 14:37

9dpo and nothing really. Nips are a bit tingly sometimes and every so often I get a bit cramp. I'm also really spotty on my face. Other than that nothing. Not feeling terribly hopeful to be honest.

SLady · 24/01/2017 16:26

Hi everyone...was just wondering what people's views were on opk's. Are they worth doing at all? I've heard they can be inaccurate in pcos women because of the hormone imbalance. Should I avoid? I feel like I may have EWCM but again I've heard this may not be an accurate indicator as it could be hormones playing up

YouBoggleMyMind · 24/01/2017 17:21

Used them on a couple of cycles with clomid but otherwise, no.

Iamchanging · 24/01/2017 22:04

Fingers crossed for you boggle! I had my appointment today and they have given me Clomid, but despite saying that 50mgs didn't work last time they are making me start at that again. Would it be dreadful to just go to 100mg accidentally on purpose?!!

YouBoggleMyMind · 24/01/2017 22:11

Changing, do you have scans for this cycle of clomid?

Iamchanging · 24/01/2017 22:15

Hi boggle, yes a scan and then bloods. Apparently I have to wait another week before taking the pills for ten days to start the bleed, but I'm so impatient. But as my last induced period only finfished 2 and a half weeks ago apparently my lining might not be built up enough yet to have a bleed? Just to be able to have a chance (however slim) after all this time to actually get pregnant...

YouBoggleMyMind · 24/01/2017 22:42

Yeah I'd defo try to leave it 28 days before starting provera.
It's frustrating but prolly not worth upping your dose if you're being monitored. I hope the 50mg works for you.

YouBoggleMyMind · 25/01/2017 08:45

Pink tinge when I wiped this morning so I think I'm prolly out.

squirrelish · 25/01/2017 10:30

I have my course of finished provera. Just waiting for AF now ...

I use OPKs SLady. I get cheap ones off amazon, because you can get through a lot with an irregular cycle. I found that I got multiple almost-positives at first. Now that I am on clomid, I usually get one really clear positive. So they are likely to be a bit unhelpful if you are not ovulating, but are great once you are.

Boggle don't panic just yet. 10 dpo is not too late for implantation. Got my fingers crossed for you!

YouBoggleMyMind · 25/01/2017 10:37

Thanks squirrel. Not feeling hopeful and scared to go back to the toilet even though I need a wee.

SLady · 25/01/2017 10:56

Thanks squirrel. I am always hopeful that I ovulate naturally even though I've never even had the slightest indication of a BFP. Stupid optimism really. I'm going to have my first CD21 BT next week so least I'll know for sure.

Don't give up hope just yet boggle. My fingers are crossed for you

AmyC86 · 25/01/2017 15:22

boggle don't worry yet xx I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine!!!!

Thanks for your positivity amy but spotting for me is never a good sign.

How are you getting on? Xxx
