Positive OPK while on period?

Yesterday I got a flashing smiley face on clear blue digital ovulation test.

This morning I got my period. Thought it was weird so did another ovulation test, and still flashing smiley face...?

I normally have regular 30 day cycles with ovulation bang on CD15.

This cycle has only been 19 days though.

Anyone know what's going on?

Are you sure you're not pregnant? Ovulation sticks pick up on hcg.

Did a pregnancy test and definitely not pg. also AF is in full flow.

Looks like you had a short cycle. Happened to me. 23 days and AF got me. Unfortunately the OPK is just a level indicator. It doesn't confirm ovulation. So when you see the positive OPK it doesn't mean you'll actually ovulate. Seems POAS of any kind will trigger Sod's law!! Sorry about AF. X

Hi AgainPlease The flashing smiley face means the test has picked up a rise in estrogen levels. This rises in the run up to AF as well as the run up to Ov (and dips whilst Ov happens). It's the first rise which triggers the surge of LH which is when you get the static smiley face.

Maybe you tested after O? And have picked up the second rise in Estrogen.
