Early Pregnancy Tests - how early??

Hi all

I'm fairly new here so be gentle!

I think I may be pregnant - I'm not due for a week but have a few symptoms (boobs have grown, strange period type pains, similar to pregnancy with DD1). I did a 'First Response' test this morning and it was negative.

I'm so impatient - when can I do another one ?!?!

Thanks, Anna x

hi,
i am in the self same position myself. i did a first response test yesterday (day my period was due) and it came back with a very feint second line. As it wasn't clear from the leaflet whether this was positive or negative i called up the helpline number they give in the intructions. the woman told me as far as she was concerned i was pregnant but i should wait 4 days (!!!) and test again to be sure. by which time i will be 4 days late. i said is was going to do another one in a hour, and she said it would show the same result, which in fairness it did. so much for being able to test early though!!!! so my advice would be to wait a couple of days and try again. although, the first response tests are on special offer in boots from today (i found out as my local boots put the label up too early and had to honour the offer for me). basically for every first response item you buy, you get a free pregnancy test. so i guess, if it makes you feel like you're doing something, then you could test sooner as £4 a pop isn't bad for a bit of peace of mind.
i'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us.
