Advice on when to come off pill

Hi ladies, getting married next May and keen to conceive ASAP after that.

Will I get my fertility back quickly once I come off the pill or do I need to think about coming off in advance to maximise my chances of conceiving sooner?

Unfortunately you'll never get a clear answer this only anecdotal. I came off the pill at 23 yo and it took me just over 2 years to conceive. My good friend came off the pill at 29 and was pregnant the next month. She then promptly blamed me for saying it would "take ages" took ME ages...
I'd say come off the pill now and use condoms if you really don't want to conceive before wedding

Everyone is different. I came off the pill at the beginning of October and haven't conceived yet, but I did ovulate around 17 days after I got my withdrawal bleed, so everything is "working" so to speak.

If you don't normally get withdrawal bleeds (i.e. mini pill) then you might want to come off a few months before and use condoms so that you can wait for your first bleed, then start tracking after that as it makes it easier to calculate when your most fertile time is and less frustrating for you to not know what is going on with your body/wondering if you could be pregnant etc.

Its a good idea to come off earlier anyway so you can get to know your cycles. Best of luck!

I would come off now and start taking folic acid. Use confirms between now and May.

If you come off the pill now, you might be pregnant by the time your wedding day comes. Or not. It might take you a cycle or a year to get pregnant.
Coming off the pill early WILL not increase your chances of getting pregnant sooner. Having lots of sex without putting pressure on yourself or your OH will.
Remember that if you are on the pill and miss one, you can get pregnant, so there is really no need to come off the pill earlier.
Stay on the pill until your wedding, then shag senseless thereafter

Oh yes, take folic acid (at a minimum, or a pre-conception vitamin like Pregnacare Conception, Seven seas trying for a baby etc) for at least 3 months before you start trying.

If you come off the pill before your wedding you don't have the easy way of making sure that you won't be having your period on your wedding day and honeymoon. You might be ok with that, or you might not. I conceived my second child the first month off the pill, my first child took a lot longer. It's a matter of luck really. I don't think coming off the pill earlier is going to make you get pregnant faster when you start trying.

My advice would be to stay on the pill until your wedding; you don't know how coming off will affect you and you need to be on a level until may! Then come off and get to it

My friend came off her pill 6 months before getting married and started using condoms as she wanted to try for a baby after her honeymoon. She's now 8 wks pregnant. And the wedding is next month. She's feeling constantly sick, being sick 2-3 x a day and, although delighted at the propspect of having a baby, is not enjoying this time at all and is stressing about being sick on her wedding day. Condoms are only as good as you are in using them properly (as is any contraception!)
