Thread 21 TTC #1 - The one where all our cycles went haywire but we DID NOT GIVE UP

Calling all clomid-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX) We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Nicky - thanks, that explains a lot for me this cycle!

MouseLove · 17/11/2016 17:40

Alexia I hope you're wrong. I really do. Sending good ROME vibes.

I did an OPK at 9pm last night and it was faint again. Either I surged in the night or early morning yesterday or mid afternoon and then petered off. I don't know. I'm not sure anymore. I just know yesterday's 1pm OPK was almost the same colour as the first line. It won't stop me trying to DTD!! I bought sexy undies for the occasion. Lol

geeup · 17/11/2016 17:53

Music - yep 7dpo and everything as normal. Was out for drinks last night and tonight so that's keeping my mind off it a bit Wine

kwick · 17/11/2016 18:21

Oh Fxskip we all have our moments of madness... I am still grateful that we live in an age where can test. Anyway onward and upward - your BFP is just around the corner.

jam I think starting with opks is very good advice from fxskip

mrs FXLS!!!!!

MrsG280516 · 17/11/2016 18:31

WantingBaby1 · 17/11/2016 18:43

So sorry alexia FX you're wrong :(

mrs ovulation test?

MrsG280516 · 17/11/2016 18:45

Yes that's an ov test. Yesterday's was massively negative!

Starmist · 17/11/2016 18:47

Alexia oh hun I'm so sorry. Sending you a massive hug FlowersFlowersFlowers

Skipper I'm very close to my mum & I felt I wouldn't want to tell her I was preggers without her knowing we were trying. My dad knows we are TTC too but I don't tell him much about it, so he doesn't know we are going for tests or anything as he'd only worry.
Ooh I only stick 1 finger up for CM Hmm

Oh Skip each cycle goes so slowly I don't blame you for caving early. At least you know you aren't out yet though.

Jam I know what you mean about the BFN fear but it might just put your mind at rest & you'll know for certain then.

Mouse hope Rome is fab & I hope Mr Mouse approves of the underwear!

I've bought some lovely new pens & dividers ready for my opk folder. I've got a calendar printed off so I can plan what to do each day. DH thinks I've lost my mind but it's making me happy so who cares!

HepKestrel · 17/11/2016 19:09

mrsG I have ovulated that early before.

Alexia fx your wrong. Flowers

Flying home from latest work trip to a house which still is chaos from builders. I will be Zen like and unstressed....I will be Zen like and unstressed......

MouseLove · 17/11/2016 19:30

MrsG get DTD!!!! Grin

Star oh my your folder sounds good. Please share pics because I'm slightly weird about craft/stationery/organisation stuff lol

Well, we're both absolutely shattered. Plans are failing badly lol

MrsG280516 · 17/11/2016 19:36

I am just confused, I didn't ovulate until CD17 last month and it was my first month off the pill so thought I'd maybe ov a little earlier this month but not this early Blush

Good job DH agreed to a quickie before work, he's just walked out of the door!

kwick · 17/11/2016 19:49

Sorry my last post was before I had finished getting caught up.

Alexia I really hope you are proved wrong. What a fcuker. Flowers

mouse just get your LS and I will keep my FX!

mrs you had better do the same!!!!

Grin starmist I love the sound of your binder!

So I just had my pineapple... should have known better to buy from man that sells everything for a £1 - will need to get another one tomorrow.

I slept so badly last night - hope I get some proper rest tonight. I am catching up on I am celebrity first though (guilty pleasure).

Londonjam · 17/11/2016 20:16

Took a test to shut my stupid brain up and lo and behold its negative. Idiot. Which also means I must be coming down with something Envy

Starmist · 18/11/2016 06:17

I'm sorry Jam Flowers at least you can put it out of your mind though & carry on with the positive thoughts for this current cycle. FX your not getting poorly xx

I'll put some pics on of my folder tonight once I've made the front cover Wink

Starmist · 18/11/2016 06:35

Alexia hope you're ok Flowers xx

Nicky883 · 18/11/2016 07:09

Well turns put af was late by one day just to give me a glimse of hope and then take it away she is a bitch like that !
Cycle 12 here i come one more try before am officially classed as infertile ! Oh well at least i am lookong forward to the hycosy month as i got it into my head that there is something wrong with my tubes

geeup · 18/11/2016 07:29

Sorry to hear that Nicky - hope the hycosy does the trick!
Has anyone else had a play around with the signs analyser on FF (VIP membership only)? You pick 5 cycles and then it shows you your common signs. For me that's o-pain at o-1 and tender boobs at 9dpo- useful if you always end up symptom spotting and convincing yourself you're pregnant when it's always bloody AF. Here's mine.

kwick · 18/11/2016 07:43

I am really sorry jam andnicky Flowers

I had a lovely schleep - with a lovely dream where I fainted because I was preggers.... please please please let this be my time!

Happy Friday everyone!!
I just have to get through the onslaught of today and then I have a week off!!!!

FXSkip · 18/11/2016 09:21

Morning all! temp dip today (CD 26) for me so I think I am out. Even though I had the pregnancy dream and was convinced it was my month. AF not predicted until next week but pretty sure my cycle will have shortened as started getting really crampy last night. The good news is that my LP is longer than it has been in past cycles.
Kwick this needs to be your turn - we are in dire need of BFPs!
Sorry Jam and Nicky - onwards and upwards - Jam are you temping or opking this cycle at all? I am actually OBSESSED with temping right now!!

Alexia how are you doing today? Thinking of you xx

MrsG280516 · 18/11/2016 09:28

TGIF!!

Sorry Nicky and Jam, hope you're okay Alexia FlowersFlowers

I've just bought some new batteries for my thermometer, I think its cracking up and I don't know if FF will be able to identify ov this month because my temperatures have just been all over the place. This morning it took 3 minutes for my thermometer to beep with a reading, that's not normal right??

FXSkip · 18/11/2016 09:41

MrsG mine says it can take a while as it looks for the highest temp within a period. Make sure your mouth is shut and stay completely still? Thats about the best advice I can give!

OP posts:
Londonjam · 18/11/2016 11:00

God I hate a BFN! That really put me in a stinky mood last night. What was I expecting though - I had had my period!?

Ah well cycle 12 it is. Sorry you're here too Nicky Flowers the hycosy is exciting though, did your GP refer for that? I think we have to wait for our first appointment at the fertility hospital for that. I'm still waiting for my scan Hmm so. Much. Waiting.

Fxskip I don't temp, never have. Just can't bring myself to do it. I think it would stress me out and I'm already thinking about it all too much. I can see why others do it, but it's not for me. I know I'm ovulating and OPK s work well every month, I have very regular cycles, so I don't think temping will add anything for me.

Nicky883 · 18/11/2016 11:15

London i am doing it privetely is a bit pricey but i just cant wait for the gp referal !I cant even bring myself to think that we might need ivf ! If it turns out to be unexplained infertility then i might just do an iui and leaveit a bit longer until ivf .
I am thinking of calling the private insurance to see if they cover fertility issues i doubt it though

FXSkip · 18/11/2016 11:20

True, sometimes I wonder if it stresses me out too much or if I like the fact that every day I've done a little thing that 'helps'. Ah well.

Nicky I called Bupa and asked, it was a firm nope :( maybe yours will be different?

Hi guys, just jumping in just to say UK insurance policies have pregnancy and infertility investigations down as a general exclusion, i.e. it's listed on all the T&Cs. It's not insurer specific. Some international policies might cover it, but they can be pretty expensive themselves. Which is a major bummer. (My DH works in medical insurance)
