hello
just after some advice please i had mc on april 1st followed by d&c next day (with very little bleeding), i have not yet had a period (nearly 11 weeks)
i was diagnosed with beta heamolytic strep which i was given antibiotics for and had some blood tests done which came back normal, my gp does'nt seem worried that i have not yet come on and says this can be normal,
however i feel far from normal, pg tests are negative. any advice please..

I think it can take a few months to get back to normal after the hormonal and emotional upheaval of a miscarriage. If you gp doesnt suspect a problem then you are more than likely fine. I'd leave it another week and then visit the doctor again. There are drugs that can bring on a period, perhaps you could ask about them. Good luck

I had mc 12 of May and my period is back now, 13 of June. Before it came I had started to worry a bit but was told it could take longer than the estimated six weeks as everyone is different.

It is a relief when it comes so I hope yours does soon.

After my first d&c I didn't have a period for nearly a year. Was told not to worry after by my first gp on numerous visits. Changedto another gp in the surgery who immediately prescribed something to bring on a period - I was very keen to try for another baby. I was and still angry that I wasted a year waiting for a period. After a second d&c my period started after three months - if it hadn't I'd have been much more forceful about waiting for it to start. By the way, now have two lovely dds.
