Clomid - did you have twins?

Thinking of taking clomid together with IUI to help conceive. We've tried cycles of unmedicated IUI with no success. I am 40 and DH is 46 and we both have 2 DCs each. We really really don't want twins and so had ruled out clomid as an option BUT, it seems that it's really all that is open to us unless we want to continue with unmedicated IUIs with have low success rates. Just wondering how many people took clomid and conceived twins. Dr said the risk if up to 20% which is really high.

I had clomid twice, single pregnancies, even with history of twins in the family. I think 20% is too high, I was told it increases about 1-3%

I didn't but my friend did - same age same dosage no family history of twins on either sides X

Following as I will likely be starting clomid next month and also really don't want twins (and a toddler Confused)!

I was told the risk of twins is only increased by 1-3%!

Thanks all. This sounds encouraging! I think we will have to take the plunge. Do you think the decision or question is, do we want twins or nothing at all? Seems to me we have to ask ourselves that and decide we want twins, worse case, in order to move ahead. Or do we just take a calculated risk and work on the assumption it will not be twins?

Yeah we've asked ourselves that question too. Wonder if it's worth asking in the pregnancy thread to see if we get more responses?

I had clomid and a singleton even with hyperstimulated ovaries
