New to opk's can someone help

If I do anot opk and it's completely negative nothing on there at all does that mean I'm nowhere near ovulation

A negative opk will only show the control line and either no second line at all or a very faint second line. A positive opk would have a second line that is as dark as or darker than the control line. If you've done a test that has no second line at all then yes I would say you were a way off ovulating yet. Remember to test every day and opk's are better done on an afternoon. Good luck!
