New to all this!
So me and dp have decided we're going to ttc in December!
Since making the decision it's all I think about!
Would be lovely to talk to people in the same situation, or have been, as I think I am going to drive dp up the wall if I carry on!
:)

Hiya. Congrats on the big decision on ttc. Just out of interest how come you're waiting until December? Are you on bc? I came off the pill in October and have been ttc since January. I still have irregular cycles and no bfp. My one bit of advice is just go for it. Fx it will happen really quick but if like me and some of my friends it takes a while... there's no harm in a head start x

Thanks.
Well I just had 3 months of pills left so we decided to try once they had finished.
Also we have a family members wedding to attend in Croatia in May so I wouldn't want to be too heavily pregnant if I was lucky enough to get pregnant quite soon!
How old are you if you don't mind me asking?
I hope you manage to concieve soon! Fingers crossed!!

Hi dangle. I totally understand about the whole not wanting to be too far gone and travelling. I'm nearly 31 and dh is 32. I was on the pill for around 13 years. When I came off the pill in oct we used protection until the end of December. I was convinced it was going to happen as soon as we started ttc lol. It is a tough decision to make and like my big sister reminds me, everything happens for a reason. X

dangle90 · 21/09/2016 08:37

Yeah I always go by that saying too. Although I bet it won't be any less frustrating for you! So you have been ttc for 10 months then? Yeah that's once of the reasons we said we would start trying because you never know what's going to happen, wether we will encounter problems or not.
X

DH and I have decided the same. I'm taking my prenatal vitamin daily at the moment, but currently alongside my pill!
We're both 28 so I don't feel as though there's a huge rush, and we're building an extension next year which ideally I'd like to be completed before a baby arrives. We've decided I should have all the wine, cheese and pate I want over Christmas and then go for it!

dangle90 · 22/09/2016 07:33

Yeah we're both 26/27 so same there's not really any rush but since deciding it's all I think about lol!
It probably would be better financially if we waited a bit longer but from hearing a lot of people's struggles on here I don't want to risk it.
Plus they do say your never financially ready.
Good luck and enjoy your wine and cheese lol!

First post :) I thought I'd have a look around here for some advice as we'll also be ttc in December - waiting til after a skiing holiday so I can enjoy the mulled wine and mountains of cheese! It sounds like a good idea to come off the pill soon-ish though? I'd been wondering about that so it's interesting to hear what others have done.

sandsandwiches · 29/09/2016 23:08

I'm in for December and stopped pill 2 weeks ago. DH and I both really broody so finding it hard to hold off but travelling to malarial area in Dec so would be safer...sigh. consoling myself with cheese and pate and cycle tracking while we wait!

MouseLove · 29/09/2016 23:12

Welcome Tashacake. I came off my pill 2 weeks ago and we have gone straight into TTC with no other protection. The problem is that I have no clue of my cycles, if I'm ovulating or when to expect my first AF. So if you can, come off the pill and use other protection until after December. I think it's very sensible of you all waiting till after holidays to TTC, that's what we have done for the last year, we had our big holiday in august, I finished my pill packed and now we're officially TTC. Good luck everyone. X

Although agree feels very odd to be thinking of switching to condoms when we really want another child. However I thought the same with DD1, thought it would take ages to concieve etc so ploughed on and were super lucky to get preg straight away & had her with EDD Christmas day! Hard to plan these things really

dangle90 · 30/09/2016 06:59

Hello everyone :)!
I can't convince my dp to let me come off the pill and earlier as we already changed from trying in May to trying in Dec! I will be the same as you though mouselove God knows what my cycle will be like! Hope you can keep us posted with how you get on!
Dec feels like ages away, I count down my pills everyday haha! Xx

I'm the same dangle, I just keep counting down. 19 more cilest to go, then if my cycle is as regular as I remember, I should have seen AF twice naturally before Christmas.

Twins run in my family so I definitely want to give it a couple of months as I hear that double ovulation is quite common if you've just stopped the pill after a while on it.

dangle90 · 01/10/2016 07:00

I've still got 68 cerelle to go Sad haha!
Do they really! Ohh you'll have to keep us updated aswell!
I'm hoping I don't have to wait long for my cycle to return to normal x

We were originally aiming for December as I have two packs of pills left but we thought it best to stop after this pack which ends on Tuesday and let my body get back to normal. We're not going to use condoms in the meantime though, if it happens early then that's a bonus Smile excited to be officially TTC once I have my withdrawal bleed then waiting for first AF.

dangle90 · 01/10/2016 18:43

Aww I bet your excited! Good luck. Amd same as rest of you ladies keep me posted how you get on :) x
