Morning after pill advice ? No period

Hello

I came on my period on the 7th August ..
I had the morning after pill on the 16th August
I bled a bit on the 22nd of August for a few days(not heavy)
And I haven't come on my period properly since the 7th of August .
Can the morning after pill make you miss a period?
I can't be pregnant if I've had the morning after pill can I ? X
Does the bleeding count as my period? So I won't get the one which was due 7 days ago? I swear the doctors said if my periods more than 7 days late take a test .. But I'm unclear wether this counts as my period or if it's just withdrawal bleeding ?

How soon after having unprotected sex did you take the MAP? It becomes less effective the longer you leave it.

The MAP can mess your whole cycle up. I'd give it another few days then take a test if AF hasn't shown it's face.

Sorry to say, I know 2 people that stayed pg after taking the MAP. I didn't know it had a failure rate until then as you're never told when you take it!

If it's been two weeks since you took the map take a test better to be sure.

I'm afraid to say it isn't 100% effective. I took it within 12hrs of DTD and have a healthy 4 yr old to show for it.

Yes you could be pregnant as it's not 100% reliable, the fact you did bleed after taking means it's unlikely

Yes it can totally f&ck up your cycle.

Do any of you think that bleed would count as my period?
I'm so worried now I read so many different things! But I don't get why the doctor said if I'm 7 days late then take a test if he knows it messes your period up?

None of us can say whether your bleed was a period. You need to take a test.

Take a test. Morning after pill didn't work for me either. It's the only way you will know.

user the doctor has told you to take a test in case your period isn't late due to the MAP. If you're pregnant, the earlier you know the better so more options are open to you. Take a test ASAP.

I just wondered if it's possible if it was my period?.. Or does everyone have a bleed part way through after .. And then get normal period

I don't remember having a bleed but it was a long time ago.

Best thing to do is just test, then you know either way. It could be its messed with your cycle and you won't get a period till 4 weeks after that bleed or it could be it hasn't worked.

Taking a test will put your mind at rest.

No one can tell you one way or the other-you have to take a test.

No that was unlikely to be your period, it was a bleed due to the hormones in the morning after pill - trying to get rid of everything in uterus.

Didn't work for me, had no bleeding at all.

Get a test and it will either put your mind at rest or you can start to think about your options.

The MAP is not a failsafe method of preventing pregnancy- there is always a risk that it might not work, even taking it fairly promptly after unprotected sex.

There is no point asking people on here whether they think you've had your period or not.

It's always advisable to take a pregnancy test following the MAP, usually 3 weeks later, if you have not had a definite period/there is any uncertainty about your period.
