very very early positive result accuracy?

My boyfriend and I have been trying for a baby for 9 months, my periods are slightly irregular and range from 33 days to 42 days. Last night I went to A&E for what I thought was a pulled rib muscle, anyway they needed to do an xray I informed them we are trying for a baby but I am only on day 26 of my cycle. They done 3 tests all of which came back positive. We done another 3 when we got home and all had the same very faint positive line. I cant believe this is real as its so early! Has this happened to anyone else?Also a bit random but I had thrush last week so had treatment for that, that couldnt give a false result could it? We are extremely excited but I am very dubious before of how early this is. Thanks!

False positives are very, very rare and caused by an incredible rare cancer. I don't want to be a downer Debby but is very early and it before you expected period that most miscarriages happen.

Pregnancy tests do not give false positive results (well, very rarely anyway, I think it is technically possible in the case of some sort of ovarian cyst), so a positive result means that you are, at this moment in time, pregnant. I always used to test early, and most tests will show a result a couple of days before your period was due. To be blunt, the reason why people think that they had a false positive is often because their period came anyway (i.e. a very very early loss) - this is very common.
