Hi guys, just starting the October bus.

I'm almost 33, have a DS (2.5 years) and am now trying for DC2. I caught pregnant on cycle 1 but unfortunately had an early miscarriage and am now entering cycle 5.

My current situation is that DH has been changing his mind over the last 12 months to wanting to try for another, then not wanting to, then wanting to etc and it's been very difficult. We have now come to the compromise that we can actually try up until next August but if nothing has happened by then we stop TTC.

I'm on CD3 now, I usually ovulate around days 17/18 and have cycles of around 31/32 days.

Good luck to everyone!!! Flowers

This is all sounding very positive! Can't wait for some tests to go down. Fingers crossed all your symptoms come good!

While we're on the topic of coming good we tried bare-backing for the first time last night and it was a disaster. For the first time ever he couldn't finish. I hope it was beginners nerves and he shakes them soon! Its made us both a bit depressed this morning. I'm trying to be cool about it but it's taken the wind out my sails and I think he's a bit embarrassed. Confused

Alibaba2 · 29/09/2016 07:33

Sk1pper, best to cut out the raspberry leaf tea now just in case you are pg. I'm sure it doesn't do any harm but I stop mine at ovulation, same as epo.

NappingRabbit · 29/09/2016 07:36

sk1pper it was a FRER.

Writer I thought AF was due tomorrow just based on last month's cycle but I may have spoken too soon about it not arriving yet. Looks like I'm out. When is yours due?

What the hell am I supposed to do about an 8 day luteal phase?! I'm taking B6 and Agnus Castus but neither seems to have made a difference so far. Feeling v fed up with the whole thing.

Writerwannabe83 · 29/09/2016 07:45

napping - is it definitely your period and not implantation? If it is implantation then you wouldn't get a BFP for another 48 hours yet.

flapper - does 'bare backed' mean without contraception? The first time DH and I had unprotected sex for TTC we couldn't stop laughing during it, for some reason we were both very nervous and it caused crazy laughter. It's a big deal to know you're potentially creating a baby. Last month, DH was going through a wobble about TTC and for two nights in a row he couldn't perform and it was the first time it had ever happened. I tried not to make a big deal of it because I knew he was embarrassed but he knew I felt disappointed. Are you in your fertile week now and does he know? I think some men struggle when they know they "have a job to do" I imagine they can feel a bit pressured.

(When I first saw your bare back phrase I thought you were talking about a sexual position and I spent about 20 seconds trying to imagine what it was) Grin

napping - how long have you been taking those supplements for? It will take a while for your body to build up on them.

alibaba - I had no idea, thank you for letting me know.

Er I'm 10dpo but have never temped before, this is why I'm suspicious. I don't feel cramps, just that heaviness/bloating you get before AF comes. It's due on Sunday so I've got a long wait ahead of me.

PurpleHaze1 · 29/09/2016 07:49

Ha ha ha writer I did the exact same thing! I was thinking 'bare-backing...hmmm...Hmm'

I do think the first time without contraceptive can feel a bit strange. I'd try not to worry about it flapper, I'm sure your OH will get his groove back Smile

PurpleHaze1 · 29/09/2016 07:50

Napping what dose of B6 are you taking? I think you have to take quite a high dose post ovulation to see a difference.

NappingRabbit · 29/09/2016 07:58

sk1pper only a month so maybe I will see a change with more time.

purple just one pill per day - can't remember the dosage Blush probably not enough. I'm going to read up on everything properly now.

writer I'm pretty sure it's AF as its exactly what happened last cycle.

Writerwannabe83 · 29/09/2016 08:05

Ha ha ha writer I did the exact same thing! I was thinking 'bare-backing...hmmm...hmm'

The first thing I though of was silver backed gorillas, and then the film "Brokeback Mountain" came to mind and then I thought of people riding horses bare backed....

Lots of random thoughts.... Grin

napping - there's actually a thread about short luteal phases and you may find some good advice in there? You may have already seen it but just wanted to make you aware in case you hadn't.

I thought of brokeback mountain too! Grin

Just got a decent line on an OPK (not yet positive) so think I'll get a positive later today or tomorrow. Hopefully ovulate in a day or two Smile

MouseLove · 29/09/2016 08:19

Morning everyone. I'm in a good mood despite my DH having a huge nightmare about dying (not something I want to relive) and me having to spend a good 20 mins trying to calm him down in the middle of the night. I think the TTC chat is effecting him more than he lets on. Sad he's a gentle soul.

BUT he was fine this morning, my back is a bit better and I have a more determined to be more relaxed. I'm baking tonight for Macmillan coffee morning tomorrow so that should be a lovely distraction leading into the weekend. Mini goals. Hope everyone has a positive day. X

NappingRabbit · 29/09/2016 08:20

Thanks, I'll look it up. Just been googling on the train into work and I am going to take myself off to Holland and Barrett at lunchtime to buy strong vitamin B complex and soy isoflavones. I may also book some acupuncture. I hate the lack of control I have over TTC, so I need to at least feel like I'm doing something (besides the obvious Wink) to help it along.

Flappergirl86 · 29/09/2016 08:21

That's reassuring writer -I suspected it was gonna be a bit awkward but was hoping for a happy ending at least! Fortunately my fertile window doesnt begin 'til Friday so he's got some time to have a word with himself before entering baby making territory.

As for bare backed -if it was a position I'd imagine it to be some kind of variation on the reverse cowgirl. Unfortunately next time we DtD I'm not gonna be able to take my mind off fornicating silverbacks. That'll get the juices flowing I'm sure :/

Mumrahhhh · 29/09/2016 08:32

Sk1pper what should a triphasic chart look like?

Sorry to hear all the BFNs, keep hoping ladies!

My DS said to me last night, completely out of the blue 'mummy, I don't want another baby, I've decided'...... we have poke to him about it over the last 9 months, to get him used to the idea (he's a proper mummy's boy), but we've not mentioned it for weeks!! I'm hoping it's a psychic moment hespecially having Smile

Lulu298 · 29/09/2016 08:39

Omg these comments Grinlolz! They're making me smile today.

Was hoping to start this cycle's dtd last night but tummy pains kept that off the menu.

Know what you mean napping about a frustratingly short luteal phase. Mine last month was 7 days??! Wtf? Think I will be going to H&B too today to get B6 and Vit c.

PurpleHaze1 · 29/09/2016 08:47

Aw how old is your DS mumrahh?

So I've looked at this morning's OPK again & think it might actually be positive. Any thoughts? I'll test again later & hopefully get it even darker...

The October Bus - hoping for lots of BFPs and Summer babies!!
NappingRabbit · 29/09/2016 08:48

Ooh will add vit C to my list, thanks Lulu! It's such a pain in the arse isn't it? I looked back at my charts from when I was TTC DS (I got a BFP first cycle but charted for 3 months in the run up to get an idea of how things worked) and my LP was short then too. So it's not a new thing, and didn't stop me getting pregnant then. Trying to take comfort from that!

Writerwannabe83 · 29/09/2016 08:48

Unfortunately next time we DtD I'm not gonna be able to take my mind off fornicating silverbacks. That'll get the juices flowing I'm sure :/

Perhaps if you take him to have a full body wax over the next few days it may help to break the association? Grin

OP posts:
NappingRabbit · 29/09/2016 08:49

Yep purple I would count that as positive, but as you say it may be darker later today.

Writerwannabe83 · 29/09/2016 08:49

I'm now trying to picture what position gorillas have sex in.... Grin

OP posts:
Writerwannabe83 · 29/09/2016 08:50

..... I would love to see some gorillas doing the reverse cowgirl Grin

MotherofUnicorns · 29/09/2016 08:58

BFN for me too but no AF and i am on cd30 (average of 26day cycle for last 3months). Cramping has gone.
weird.
Clearly not preggo but i want AF to arrive so i can get started on the next cycle......
i might get 2 gos on the october bus if AF hurries up!

Flappergirl86 · 29/09/2016 08:59

Looks like a positive to me purple -get making like a Gorilla!
That said aren't gorillas quite bad at reproducing? like pandas? Maybe get making like a feral cat.

I'll pick up some wax strips after work writer....

Mumrahhhh · 29/09/2016 09:32

Looking good purple might get darker later, but can change quite quickly too. Get it on!

DS is 5, it'll be funny if he is right because when I fell pg with DS, the cat knew before me, he became my guard cat, very odd!
