Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

Thinking of you too, Hep. Glad the wait is coming to an end for you at least, but crossing everything for some good news.

Love the fact we have pipettes and menstrual cups on the go in this thread!! My DP would probably be pretty keen to give the pipette a go, just because it sounds like a fun thing to do. He mentioned it a while back and I think is secretly craving to squirt me Hmm

I think I mentioned a while back how much I love my Mooncup-copy now and don't use tampons anymore. They are honestly so much better and less faffy. Not entirely sure how they would help with getting more sperm to sit at the cervix though... Wouldn't you have to stand on your head to stop it all settling in the bottom of the cup?!

Think there are lots of testers coming up over the next few days. GOOD LUCK to all of you! Sending you all lots of positive vibes and eagerly awaiting the results of the scientific experiments this time round :)

sk1pper · 09/09/2016 12:54

Alice - you're like the thread guinea pig. We're all like "ooh yeah do it, menstrual cups, amazing" and now we're all sat her eating popcorn waiting for your conclusion.

Just saying...Grin

kavanaughkj · 09/09/2016 13:38

I use a menstrual cup and have tried that form of insemination too in an odd month when DH was knackered and not up to DTD.

You need to use a softcup, not a usual mooncup, which is harder. I swear by my mooncup. I bought a Lunette off www.femininewear.co.uk/ and would never go back to tampons again! They're faffy to get used to but more comfortable, environment friendly, don't need changing every 4 hours and don't put you at risk of getting TSS. They also save you money in the long run.

All of that said, regular mooncups are likely to be bugger all use for insemination as Penguin suspected as they would keep the sperm away from your cervix - they are a relatively stiff plastic cup that forms a vaccuum under your cervix, catching the blood and preventing it leaking, but not holding it up against the cervix. Anybody wanting to upduff themselves with a menstrual cup would have to use the 'disposable' versions - softcups, which are much softer and shallower (and I imagine probably messier in a period to remove!). They move a lot more with your body and would hold the sperm against your cervix.

I found this out the hard way by trying to use my menstrual cup, removing it and finding that as I'd not done the requisite headstand, nothing had stayed inside me. A little research showed me where I'd gone wrong. Blush

kavanaughkj · 09/09/2016 13:41

I got a Me Luna cup, not Lunette - oops! Sure the Lunettes are OK but I liked the choice of grips and colours in the Me Lunas.

kavanaughkj · 09/09/2016 13:48

Have also just seen Alice is prepared with softcups, so never mind my blathering!

Si1ver · 09/09/2016 13:56

And I'm out for this month with AF arriving two days early. Fuck this shit.

Mooseville · 09/09/2016 14:19

LondonJem · 09/09/2016 14:21

Sorry silver Sad it sucks Flowers

All this menstrual cup talk is making me tempted to try it again. Perhaps if I finally buy one my period might not come next week...

Nicky883 · 09/09/2016 14:34

Sorry silver :( it sucks ! Take care of yourself

Nicky883 · 09/09/2016 14:36

nicky i have used it ! i have flashy face for about 4-5 days before smiley face. I view smiley face as the beginning of FW. LSFX for you ! get busy Wink

looks like my bean died at ~6 weeks.

will ring the gynae ward in a few hours on my decision. probably will be medical as they can give me pills tomorrow as opposed to waiting till friday for surgical. This way i feel as if i am doing something.

Work trip officially cancelled. hotel cancelled. emails sent.

WingingIt83 · 09/09/2016 15:56

nicky I've used it once and went straight from empty circle to solid smiley face! I'm going to use it again this month and start to use it twice a day near when I think FW is to try and see if I get flashy smiley as warning.

kavanaughkj · 09/09/2016 16:05

Sad Tons of hugs for you, Hep - I'm so sorry. Take the best care of yourself you can - and while I know you're probably in no mood to take anything positive from this at the moment, at least you know your body is capable of being pregnant now. Flowers I hope you can relax a little and be gentle to yourself this weekend - and do come here if you need to vent or just want a little company.

Flowers to you too Silver. AF can fuck right off.

LovelyFishy · 09/09/2016 16:17

Hep I'm so sorry to hear that, I was wishing for you as hard as I could. Take care of yourself and we're all here if you need to rant/vent/whatever. Flowers

Silver sorry AF got you. Wine

So I was merrily enjoying my last day off, fully expecting AF to show at any time. Then my DH suddenly starts looking at my boobs very seriously and giving them a prod before saying "Are they swollen?". Of course now my calm has evaporated. Just did a test, I think there's a squinted there? Hopefully I've seen enough true negatives by now to know a (faint) positive if I see one! Nothing shows on photo, I will re-test if no AF in the following days...

ArtOfKnit · 09/09/2016 16:18

Oh hep I'm so sorry. Life can really suck can't it?

silver sorry about AF

Damson9 · 09/09/2016 16:21

Aw, Hep, I'm heartbroken for you. I'm so very sorry to hear that. I hope that whatever comes next is as smooth as it can be for you. Much love to you and your partner xxx

Si1ver · 09/09/2016 16:25

Christ, I'm so sorry Hep. That's so hard.

HepKestrel · 09/09/2016 16:30

fx for you fishy!

I am actually feeling a lot better now.... oddly. I can move on. We both realistically weren't surprised. Though clearly to have it confirmed was upsetting. Am just telling work I am unable to travel due to medical treatment I need next week. Its the truth, and should stop people worrying too much about me (I hope!).

OH is all on board to being told when i am ovulating and to moderate his drinking for that week Smile.

HepKestrel · 09/09/2016 16:32

thanks everyone. you have all helped me this week. you are all Stars !

sk1pper · 09/09/2016 16:55

Sorry hep xxI'm glad you've got an answer now and can start to move on but I can't imagine how it feels. Take some time for yourself this weekend, look after yourself

LondonJem · 09/09/2016 17:36

Nicky883 · 09/09/2016 17:41

So sorry hep ! But you are right at least yoi can move on with the knowledge that you can indeed get pregnant !
Lovely i remeber that you have been trying for a while i really hope you get a clear bfp tomorrow !

purpleladybird · 09/09/2016 18:24

So so sorry Hep. Flowers

kwick · 09/09/2016 18:54

Wow kavan I am impressed by your mooncup endeavours Grin I still do not get how they work without being messy... I find tampons excruciating so not really sure they are for me... Anyway I am in PMA overdrive - so do not need to think about such things for at least 9 months Wink

Sorry silver Flowers

jem fabulous reverse psychology - I am gonna order my cup right now!!!

hep I am so so sorry. Flowers did they give any kind of reason? You are a strong and brave woman, you will get through this. You know now you can get a bfp - and that is half the battle. We are all here for you.
Be very kind to yourself. It was not your fault.

lovely do you have a FRER at the ready for tomorrow morning?

Had a pretty shitty day - one of my bosses was horrid to me, this has really impacted me. Fcuking bastard - excuse my French!
On a positve note my progesterone levels are good so no need to increase dosage of fanjo gels and bum stabbing at the mo.
