First post on mumsnet despite reading for the last 18 months. I don't even know if I can join this site since I live in the US but here goes...

Hello! My name is Kate, I just turned 30 and H and I have been TTC for almost exactly a year. AF is 4-6 days late depending on which app I look at. Took a first response rapid result (not early response) test this am (3rd morning wee instead of first) and this is what I've got.
I'm at work and won't be able to take anymore until this evening and I'm SO anxious. PLEASE tell me this is a positive and not a whacky test result...

That looks very clear to me...so congratulations!

Yes. It's a line so it means it's positive. We can't tell you if it's a whacky test as we don't know how fast the line came up / whether you did it properly etc.

I'm doubtful because the line on the right is pretty faint. The other positives I've seen were the opposite, with the left line being fainter than the right line. I don't feel any different either, I guess I just don't believe it yet!

I see what you mean, the control line is lighter than the test line.
I don't think this changed the result though.

Ahhhhh!! Absolutely freaking out!! How do I tell H?? I had a couple cute ideas of how to tell him and now my mind is blank!

That's really strange. I've never seen a test where the control line is really light. I'm absolutely sure you are pregnant but if I was you I'd have to test with something else to be on the safe side. Maybe a clear blue digital because your test line is so dark it would definitely show on that?!

In case anyone comes back to look...I got a different kind.

Bit harsh pottering, cute ideas aren't my way either but plenty of women like to make a moment of it. OP could you wrap the test up and give him it?

The test line can 'steal' the dye from the control line with a very strong positive result.

So, yes, that is a VERY positive test! Congratulations!
