Agnus Castus

I am thinking of trying Agnus Castus to help regulate my cycles and just wondered if anyone else has tried it and had success in shortening their cycles?

Hi HappyBus, I take agnus castus amongst other things - it's been proven to be very beneficial and helpful with regulating cycles, but like all natural medicines can sometimes take time to have the full desired effect (up to 6 months). Do you have PCOS?

I haven't been to the doctors yet still trying to be patient and give my body time to settle after being on the pill, been off it 3 months and cycles have been very long since, currently CD49 getting period type cramps daily but no sign of AF

Hi, I used it because a coupleof kmonths after coming off the pill I started bleeding far too often. So any egg never had a real chance at embedding before it all got flushed out again! Iirc, you should avoid getting pregnant while you're on it though. I think I took it for a couple of months and then stopped and then finally got pregnant. So I'd definitely recommend it!

Hi jokat yes I have read not to take once actually pregnant. A few suggestions have been a take 1st part of cycle up to ovulation then to stop once ovulated. I have ordered some so going to give it a go. Do you think I should try and wait until AF shows to start it or just start taking straight away?

I'd start taking it straight away. Fingers crossed you won't have to take it for long!

Update- started taking it on Tuesday, AF turned up this morning after a 51 day cycle. Probably a coincidence given how short a time I'd been taking AC for but maybe not! So relieved to finally get AF was starting to worry a bit! Will see how this cycle goes with AC, hope it's shorter!!!!
