I almost put this in arts and crafts, seeing as how we talk about crochet as much as we talk about babies!

He was 34+5 keep. I'm OK most of the time then I have a mini melt down and sort myself out again!
This room at the Ronald McDonald is ours for as long as we need it. N is with us I was missing him too much so they brought him up again today it had been a week. But it does make it more difficult to spend time with G we have to take turns. God knows when we will get back they keep trying but there's always something that doesn't quite come together.
I'd like to keep trying the boob but he's young to have learnt sucking and swallowing. Also he's quite sleepy. So its difficult.

keepitgoing · 05/12/2016 10:11

That's great you can all stay, and so glad you have n with you now - better for him too I'm sure. Don't worry about the boob, just keep trying. Is there a good lactation person there to advise? I know people with much more prem babies who eventually learnt so if you persevere it may well work. Good luck

BeedlesPineNeedles · 06/12/2016 07:15

Oh trix that must have been a shock. Glad you're all doing ok though. Hope they manage to transfer you soon. He's got a lovely name.

If you manage to keep up your milk supply by pumping little G should get the hang of breastfeeding eventually. A was blooming useless at breastfeeding to start with and we had to limit how long she tried for but now she is almost entirely breastfed.

A has managed a couple of 5/6 hour stretches of sleep over the last few nights :o I was gutted when she woke after 3 hours last night! I'm rubbish at sleeping when she naps during the day as she's really grunty and grumbly if she's not being held on my chest.

geek how is everything with you?

imps thankyou she is gorgeous, BB looks pretty gorgeous too!

Trix massive congratulations, it sounds like you are all doing so well under what must be exhausting and difficult circumstances. I hope the transport gets sorted for you soon so you can make a routine for yourselves.

Gorgeous pics keep, so cute! It's lovely to hear how well the latest crop of brooking newborns are doing keep imps and beedle - long may it continue!

Loopy that sounds like a plan you have there, lovely. Did you manage to get the pred etc sorted? My prescriptions were a bit of a 'mare with originating abroad, but I can't see why you can't just get yours posted to you for you to purchase at a pharmacy of your choice.

38+3 here, I can't believe I'm into my last fortnight. Imps has it spot on, my to-do list is ridiculous but I've now passed the last day where I was permitting non-pregnancy appointments to be made that I had to attend (DF, MrG etc) so I'm hoping to concentrate on Geekling from hereon in. I think we've got all the major purchases covered, we're going to wait for her to arrive before buying slings and other non-essentials. MrG is still signed off sick and driving me round the twist and definitely won't be going back until long after Geekling's been born. I haven't had the house to myself since 2014, and it's not going to happen now Sad DF's dementia is starting to get more challenging, too, but nowhere near care home-ready so just having to plough on with the carers and pick up the emergencies as they arrive. Poorly GeekKitty now seems to be fully recovered - though after £6.5k worth of vets bills I should bloody well hope so!

Oh, latest news preg-wise is that I've somehow been accepted into the midwife-led birthing centre rather than the medical delivery suite - not quite sure how my amazing new midwife managed to wangle that one, but I'm absolutely over the moon about it!

Hope everyone I've not mentioned is keeping well, Flowers to everyone!

cartoontrickster · 08/12/2016 17:22

G was transferred on Mon but actually things are harder now, N is a nightmare at the hospital so its hard for us all to go. Its an hour away so several quick trips just doesn't seem practical. I'm struggling to feel like I'm spending enough time with either of them. I csant fit in expressing enough times at the moment so I'm going to have to start doing it in the car on our way to and fro. The bf woman is very nice but I'm just not there often enough to get much practice in.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 08/12/2016 18:14

Trix congratulations on the early arrival. I hope that they can operate soon and then you can all get home for good.

Another development here. When I went back to Coventry in October they also did a new CD138 test. Result has come back positive, and it's likely it was caused when I had the ERPC as it's from then onwards that I've been having the early losses. DH and I both need antibiotics for 14 days before can ttc.

Today is CD1 and DH has 2 work do's and antibiotics aren't as effective if drink so we won't be ttc this cycle. He's barely touched booze since 16/9 but he will want a few next week so will take antibiotics in Jan, and I'm due to ovulate the last weekend in Jan. This months cycle was 33 days, my shortest ever so metformin is definitely working on me! So am hoping the combo of new shorter cycles, the antibiotics, the levothyroxine, the metformin, the fragmin, the prednisolone and possibly aspirin and progesterone (not quite decided re those yet) will mean we get a sticky BFP.

Imps9 · 09/12/2016 06:46

What's the CD138 test Loops?

Trix you will definitely be spending enough time with both N and G so please don't put yourself under pressure by thinking you're not. The car journey sounds like an ideal place for expressing!

Imps9 · 09/12/2016 08:25

Hmmm if I didn't know any better I'd say that my left ovary is gearing up to pop an egg - am having what feels just like early ov pains that side.

ControlGeek · 09/12/2016 15:35

Ohhh imps are you up for having Irish twins??? Grin

Imps9 · 09/12/2016 16:52

ControlGeek · 10/12/2016 11:21

OMG Imps how did he manage that? Are you ok? Have you got anyone local to you who can give you a hand when you need it? Wishing MrImps a speedy recovery Flowers

Imps9 · 10/12/2016 17:46

Fell off his bike. Poor thing is so upset with himself.

And B-B appears to have silent reflux which is causing him all sorts of pain. We got pretty much no sleep last night because he'd wake every 60-90 mins for a feed and then get uncomfortable when I put him down so then he'd want a comfort feed - this went on all night pretty much. Am exhausted!

keepitgoing · 11/12/2016 14:33

imps is bb any better? If you think it's reflux you should take him to the gp. Poor baby, and you! How is he after day feeds

Beedle sounds like A is doing well. Are you back to normal after cs?

Geek ANY NEWS? Hope all goes well lovely x

Pastamancer · 11/12/2016 17:37

Imps if you ask on FB you should get some good advice about reflux as there have been a few brooking babies that have had it.

Imps9 · 11/12/2016 21:29

Thanks all. We had a slightly better night last night. I read that 6 week growth spurt and sleep "regression" are things so am wondering if that might have something to do with it too. I did ask the GP at B-B's 6 week check last and she said to get some infant gaviscon and that it was v common. To be honest, having read a number of stories online B-B isn't suffering half as much as some poor babies seem to.

Trix how are you doing? And little G?

ControlGeek · 12/12/2016 16:20

Oh imps that fb photo looked incredibly painful, I do hope MrI is on the road to recovery very soon. Sorry to hear about the silent reflux, I have no advice but really hope it is down to the six week growth spurt etc and that the brooking fb group can offer some help.

No news here, it's all very 'normal' - no cramps, pain, discomfort, show, leaky norks, or anything that might indicate that Geekling wants to see daylight.

Today's been a bit pants as my insomnia's cranked it up a notch for a few nights now so yesterday and today I've had a migraine - not too bad in the grand scheme of things, but I'm out of practice with them and seriously missing my codeine Sad blood pressure etc are all normal so it really is just a migraine, and lack of sleep is a standard trigger for me. If anything I'm amazed I've gone this long without one!

Here is possibly my last ever weekly bumpie, taken just after MrG and I had our last ever meal out without needing a babysitter...

Imps9 · 13/12/2016 10:46

check you out hot mama! You look fab! So sorry to hear about migraine - that's the last thing you need. I meant to say previously that it's fab that you can be MW led in the birth centre! Waaay more sensible than consultant-led care purely because you're IVF. What's the dealio with Geekling's measurements?

Mr I is fine but such an annoying patient. He rejects all offers of help and insists on doing everything himself. It's so frustrating!

keepitgoing · 13/12/2016 13:20

Wowee geek you look gorgeous! Come on geeklette! Meals out feel a lifetime ago - they become v expensive once you add in a babysitter

Did the op go OK imps?

trix how are you, lovely?

ControlGeek · 14/12/2016 10:37

Looks like Geekling will be going at least to her edd - midwife tried to do a sweep this morning but the little rascal still hasn't engaged and my cervix wasn't favourable. Hey ho, at least things are still pretty comfortable down there :)

keepitgoing · 15/12/2016 19:09

Enjoy your last few days before she comes then lovely geek x very excited for you!
